blood and beating hearts - Shadow - August 23, 2014

@Danica xD This will be interesting. Set after Crimson and Clover :)

The sterling outrider didn't really have a destination on his mind as he wandered through Swiftcurrent Creek. He went where ever his paws took him and still, he couldn't find anyone. He sniffed the air for a familiar scent but there was none, shrugging he continued walking towards the Creek. Surely there had to be someone near the waters, someone had to be thirsty or hungry.

He spotted a rabbit and lunged after it, not really intending to catch it. He just wanted to stretch his legs and chasing the rabbit actually gave him something to do. It bounded all the way to the Creek, he stopped abruptly, wondering if anyone was here. He was in need for some company.

Furrowing his brows, he scanned the area around him for any sign of a living wolf.

RE: blood and beating hearts - Danica RIP - August 24, 2014

Gonna be a bit vague until I figure out where she's going next ^^

Danica had decided to lie low until she left. It had been made pretty obvious that she was no longer welcome here, probably due to the penchant for corruption that Bazi seemed to think hovered around her like a cloud now. Currently she was sitting near the stream, somewhat close to the edge of the territory. She had thought about leaving, living outside the borders until the time came, but no matter what Bazi thought, she had other friends here.

One of whom was approaching her right now. She did not hear him, too wrapped up in her own thoughts to notice anything right now. Her golden eyes were trained on the river, watching the current take leaves and send them whirling downstream. She was brooding, but didn't care. She figured that, with everything had happened, she deserved a little time to be morose.

He sniffed the air, finally a gust of wind brought a familiar scent towards him. He wondered how she was doing. Letting his nose take the lead, he found her, her golden eyes trained on the river, her usual jumpy and cheerful attitude no longer here. He sensed an aura of sadness around her, he frowned, concerned for his usual witty friend. He approached her slowly, platinum eyes full of concern and worry.

"What's wrong, Danica?" he asked, the humor that he held earlier was gone, he sank down on his haunches beside her, touching his nose against her cheek as he waited for her reply. It worried him to see her brooding, this was so unlike her. What happened? Who had made her this upset?

RE: blood and beating hearts - Danica RIP - August 24, 2014

I was thinking about having her make it seem as though it was her decision.... but I want drama >=D

Gods, it was Shadow. She cursed inwardly. She really didn't want to have this conversation right now, not with him. Of all the friends she had made in the Creek, they probably got along the best aside from, well, Bazi. So right now she would count him among her closest companions.

But he would find out eventually, and Bazi had made her decision. She took a deep breath to compose herself. There was no way she was gonna crack, not in front of anyone in the Creek. Her pride wouldn't allow for that.

"I've been asked, when I go with Tuwawi and Njal north, to stay. I think I've worn out my welcome in the Creek." She didn't crack a smile, but thankfully her voice remained steady through the delivery. She couldn't look at him though. Do that and it might all be lost. Nor did she specify from whom the orders came. She really didn't need to.

*grins evilly* >:D
<style type="text/css"> r1 {color:#5e6d7c; font-size: 10px;} .r1box {background-color: #ccffffff; width: 500px; margin: auto; background-image: url('http://i.imgur.com/y77SqPt.jpg'); background-repeat: no-repeat; outline: 10px solid #477583;} .r1text {margin: auto; width: 370px; color:#2e5c8a; text-indent: 15px; font-family: rokkit; line-height: 15px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 15px; padding-right: 15px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-top: 525px; margin-bottom: 30px;}</style>

"I've been asked, when I go with Tuwawi and Njal north, to stay. I think I've worn out my welcome in the Creek." said Danica.

He froze, his mind struggling to comprehend what had just been said. Slowly his eyes narrowed, icy gaze full of anger, taking a few deep breaths he managed to actually speak. "Who....who the fuck issued that order." he managed to spit out, voice full of fury. "Is it the newest Alphess? And if it was her, why did she do it?" his voice was trembling as he spoke. He took another deep breath, "Please tell me Danica, I won't judge you, I promise." he said softly, nudging her with his nose as he silver gaze sought her fiery ones out.

He realized he was still trembling with disbelief and anger so he took another few breaths and waited for her answer. He couldn't believe anyone would kick her out, a loyal, healthy warrior. If it was Bazi (it probably was), there had to be a reason behind all this and only if that reason was murdering a fellow pack member, then she should be kicked out. If that wasn't the reason.....

RE: blood and beating hearts - Danica RIP - August 24, 2014

Oh boy, he was angry. As he had the right to be, really. "Ding, we have a winner," she responded, a touch of a smile reaching her tone. "And, no offense, but I don't think you judging me at this point is going to make any difference." She was sure the events behind her dismissal would get out as well. And she would rather that both her and Bazi's versions of the story be heard, at least to those who mattered.

"I told her that I have feelings for her, and she didn't take it well. Perhaps I would have been smarter opening with the fact that I have feelings for women in general, but cest la vie." She shrugged.

She truly hoped, though, that this issue didn't drive a wedge between the remaining Creek wolves. That was not her intention here. They had a right to know why one of their numbers was leaving but she didn't want Bazi's remaining followers to disperse. Shadow was Gamma here, and his contributions were many. It would be quite more of a blow to lose him than it was to lose her.

"And, no offense, but I don't think you judging me at this point is going to make any difference."

He couldn't even manage to fake a smile when she said "Ding, we have a winner," He was that angry. "I told her that I have feelings for her, and she didn't take it well. Perhaps I would have been smarter opening with the fact that I have feelings for women in general, but cest la vie." So apparently the reason why Bazi had asked for Danica to leave was not because she murdered a pack member but because of her sexuality. He scowled, claws digging into the earth, barely aware that his ears had started flattening.

"Let me get this straight," his voice held barely contained fury. "You told her you liked her and stuff and then she decided to just kick you out of the pack because of whom you like? Was she afraid that you'll fall for another at the Creek if she let you stay?" He sneered, he couldn't believe that Bazi would do such a thing. He didn't even wait for an answer.

He rose to his paws, "I'm going to find her and beat some fucking sense into that pretty head of hers." he growled before remembering that Danica had feelings for her and even though he wanted to smash the Alphess's head against a rock, he stopped. "If you're going with Njal and Tuwawi, I'm coming with you." but he knew, even as he said those words that he couldn't. Paar was at the Creek and he couldn't bear the thought of leaving her but he couldn't let Danica leave either. This was all Bazi's fault. Damn her.

RE: blood and beating hearts - Danica RIP - August 24, 2014

Danica's ears flattened as Shadow spoke vehemently. She understood his anger, she really did. She could feel her own, a roiling within her that simmered beneath the surface. But she had enough experience with this sort of situation that she could handle it.

"Please, Shadow, don't... for all her unreasonableness Bazi is a good wolf. Her reaction, it was harsh but it isn't unusual. She will make a good leader, but she needs you here, and she needs you behind her."

God, this was turning her soft, wasn't it? She barely recognized herself, uttering those words, and she fell silent afterwards. Two years ago she would have dealt with this heartbreak like any other... sought to hurt and bring down she who had dealt it. It was a good thing she was no longer so young.

"Besides, Paarthurnax would miss you, I bet." She poked him with a forepaw, willing him to calm down a bit. "You're gonna have to come visit me and let me know how that goes, by the way." She didn't voice the unspoken assumption... there was no way she was going to come back here, not for a long while, the way things stood now.

He gazed at her, icy fury burning within his platinum orbs but it wasn't directed at her, instead directed at the ivory Alphess "Fine. I won't beat her up," he sneered. "But I'll tell her to thank you when I spare her miserable life." It was only because of Danica that Bazi wasn't all bloody and messed up now. "Her reaction to you was unfair," he snapped at nobody in particular. "I don't care about her and what she needs. I care about you, I want you to stay at the Creek with me so I can laugh and joke with you anytime but mostly, I want you to be happy and now, I don't think you'll be able to find it here at the Creek." he sighed.

He glared at the distance, "I will stay, for now." he said. "But I won't stay long, if my plan succeeds, you are welcome to join me." He calmed down slightly at her touch. "Of course I'll visit you, even if Bazi doesn't approve." She does not own me. "I'm going to die of boredom when you're gone."

RE: blood and beating hearts - Danica RIP - August 24, 2014

I want you to be happy and now, I don't think you'll be able to find it here at the Creek. Danica shook her head. "No, I don't think so either. I had hoped... but it doesn't look that way." She looked north, to where she soon would be traveling. Perhaps to stay, if her conversation with Tuwawi went well. At least for a while she could reside with the new family, though who knew if that was where her travels would end.

His words made her look at him questioningly. So he was planning something? He made it sound as though he meant to build his own pack. It was a concept that Danica had considered once or twice... always to come to the conclusion that she far too unfit when dealing with other people's issues. Perhaps Shadow was better with that sort of thing. It made her somewhat sorry though... seemed this day was going to cost Bazi even more than she bargained for. She kept silent on it, though.

"I'm sure you will find other ways to amuse yourself in the meantime," she responded, winking suggestively. Her defense mechanism, it seemed, was to resort back to that sense of humor she normally cloaked her every response in. These heart to hearts weren't really her thing, but she was glad that she had gotten the chance to know where Shadow stood. And while she would have liked to see him stay here, it was really good to know that his position wasn't anything like Bazi's.

"I'm sure you will find other ways to amuse yourself in the meantime,"

He smiled at her, silver eyes dark with sadness, anger still visible in them but he tried his best to hide it away as he inched closer to her and placed his head on top of hers before withdrawing. "I'll miss you, sis." he murmured softly, smiling at her. "When I visit you, you better tell me how the pups are doing." a playful tone in his voice as he nudged her fondly.

"Of course, Danica." he winked back at her, a smirk curving at his lips. He was still angry and sad but he hid it well, not wanting to ruin the last time he was probably going to speak to her in Swiftcurrent Creek. He really couldn't believe Bazi would do that, she was just a normal healthy warrior that liked the same gender. There was nothing really wrong with her, she couldn't change her feelings so it wasn't fair for her to get kicked out.

His brows furrowed slightly, if he managed to establish his own pack someday, nobody would be kicked out just because they liked the same gender or both. It would be fair, he hoped.

RE: blood and beating hearts - Danica RIP - August 29, 2014

Wrapping this one up! <3 last post from me. We will have to thread again at some point so they can catch up after Shadow does his thing

Danica was grateful that she could still count on his friendship even though they could no longer be packmates. She gave him a quick nudge on the cheek as he lifted his head away, then turned to look behind. The day was fast waning, and she would need to find a new spot to sleep before it was over. Her current one, being so close to the rest of the pack, was less than ideal for the avoidance that she planned to put into action until she left.

"I'm sure I'll see you around before then, but I think I need a walk right now. Take care, Shadow, and don't you dare get at those Silvertip wolves without me." She gave him a wink, then turned to go.

Honestly, she had no issues with her other packmates, but aside from Bazi, he was the only wolf here she would truly miss. The others she hadn't gotten to know very well, a failing on her part, but one that she was strangely glad for. More painful goodbyes would have just made this entire thing harder.

RE: blood and beating hearts - Shadow - August 29, 2014

Yeah :)

<style type="text/css"> r1 {color:#5e6d7c; font-size: 10px;} .r1box {background-color: #ccffffff; width: 500px; margin: auto; background-image: url('http://i.imgur.com/y77SqPt.jpg'); background-repeat: no-repeat; outline: 10px solid #477583;} .r1text {margin: auto; width: 370px; color:#2e5c8a; text-indent: 15px; font-family: rokkit; line-height: 15px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 15px; padding-right: 15px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-top: 525px; margin-bottom: 30px;}</style>

"I'm sure I'll see you around before then, but I think I need a walk right now. Take care, Shadow, and don't you dare get at those Silvertip wolves without me." The silver male rolled his eyes, a faint smirk gracing his lips. "Would never dream of doing that," he replied, a glint of amusement in his silvery eyes. He watched as she winked and turned to go.

He sat there for a moment, sadness piercing his heart. It seems that the Creek wasn't for him after all. If only this hadn't happened, he would still have a future here. It wasn't that he didn't have one now but he might have to get his plan into action sooner than planned. It wasn't really a problem for him but for Paar....he didn't want to rush her.

Shaking the troubling thoughts away, he rose to his paws, intending to find someone.
