See the light in the shade of the morning sun. - Artyom - June 07, 2020

With a decision made (and he didn't know if it was the right one or not), Artyom prowled through the white-barked foliage in search of the soldier. @Germanicus remained a mystery to him, but in his short time at the stream he'd proven himself to be a valuable part of the pack. The gilded Alpha, keen to better learn more of his sterling comrade, had chose to invite him along to the coast as escort so he could acquaint himself with Aphrodite's saviour.

He called out softly, and carried on toward the edges if his territory to await his arrival. Artyom looked over a golden shoulder, longingly into the forest, and thought sorely of the days he would spend apart from his offspring.

if the boy would return, germanicus did not know it. he busied himself with the task of border strengthening and counting the numbers of their prey. it had been the job of a guard to stand at attention for long hours; in order to keep from the wearying of one's body, a soldier would let his mind roam.

but germanicus was nothing if not disciplined; he put aside his idle thoughts and attended artyom at once. not missing the wistfulness upon his leader's face, deciding not to comment, the centurion flanked his ruler and waited.

He did not have to look for long. Germanicus, quiet and with utmost patience, appeared from between their white-barked trees to gravitate toward the gilded leader's side. Artyom shared a wordless greeting with him, and carried on with his wanderings through the wood.

"No sign of Alsek?" Artyom questioned, knowing he was not alone in his search for the cub.

"none. but there is no sign that he was taken," germanicus reported promptly. no blood, no struggle, no scuffing where it might indicate the boy had been dragged. auds cupped. "i will continue to search." there was no sense to panic, and none to surrender. when it was time to end their looking, the gods would reveal the moment.
