He trotted out of The Heartwood where the colorful trees would soon turn to yellows and browns and continued forward. This was a place that he had not ventured before. He followed the river until he arrived at a huge lake. The ashen male watched as a fish snapped at one of the dozen insects on the waters of the lake. The air was never silent, there always seemed to be bullfrogs singing among the cattails, he would stay here for sometime. With luck, he'll be able to catch a dozen or more fishes to wholly satisfy his hunger. He moved in closer towards the lake, silver eyes scanning the surface for his soon-to-be-meal. RE: body of water - Kipling - August 25, 2014 Kipling, in fae-like fashion, skittered past the stranger towards the water. Oh, she could spare him a word or two later, but at the present moment she was dying of thirst, or rather her throat was the slightest pinch dry. But she wasn’t one to stay uncomfortable, and while it was certainly unwise to turn her back to foreigners, especially outside of pack’s home, she didn’t think twice about it. Funny then, the other risk she didn’t acknowledge, of him being from the Creek and her of the Mountain. The nuisances of scents and their meanings were cleansed by the tip of her muzzle dipping into the water, lapping up the cool liquid hurriedly down her throat. It did well to refresh her. But without noticing perhaps, she had made his intent to fish thrice as difficult, the native lake-dwellers shying away from her clattered approach halfway into the water. Where she stayed, dunked along the shore, to drink to her heart’s content. Of course a wolf from The Sunspire wouldn't know how to fish or didn't care. He approached her, a smirk on his face, "Wow, do you love fishes?" he asked her, the smirk dancing playfully around his lips. He pawed the ground, tail flicking nonchalantly as he watched her drink. He glanced quickly at the lake waters, silently cursing her for scaring away the fish but the smirk was still on his face. It was hard to be able to read his thoughts or feelings, he hid it well and he knew it. RE: body of water - Kipling - August 26, 2014 Ears flicking back at the sound of the voice, it's only when she's satisfied her thirst that Kipling lifts her snout from the water. Running her tongue over her lips to catch the stray drops that plop down beneath her raised head, she cocks a single brow at the silver wolf; as if she's only just noticed him. But her gaze seems to be disapproving, a clash against his vague smirking, and she shifts her stance so that she can look at him without having to turn her head. Fish is a desperate fool's meal.Revealing her distaste of seafood, I eat real meat.Because Kipling was no longer a loner scavenging for scraps (including even leftover fish parts) she felt the act was an overexertion, perhaps because she didn't even know how to fish for herself. But given the choice, she certainly felt it wasn't the right one for her taste-buds. She could leave fishing for the cats and bears to workout. RE: body of water - Shadow - August 27, 2014 "Fish is a desperate fool's meal." said the Sunspire female in distaste. "I eat real meat." He smirked at her reply, his expression did not change even though he wanted to sink his fangs into the female's fur and taste her blood. Fish was a good meal for any wolf, it was easier to catch and satisfied his hunger liked any other kind of meat.
RE: body of water - Kipling - August 27, 2014 A slight tilt of her head, voice sickly sweet, “Yes, I’m sure it’s that way for someone like you.” And while it was obvious she was implying something and nothing good at that, it would be hard to pinpoint exactly what she was getting at. The disappointment lingers in her mind but her expression rises into that of wide smile, and it’s obvious then there’s a new sarcastic finesse stretching over her aesthetic. “I know you.” And her nose twitches in turn, “You’re from Swiftcurrent.” Familiar with the scent from having dashed there on multiple occasions (before Sunspire of course) but never trying her luck with the border. Now though it seemed things had eventually come full circle for Kipling, and though Ferdie had warned her not the venture there, fate found a way to pull the two rivals together. "Why, yes I am. Although I might not be for long." he smirked at her, bright eyes turning back to their cold steely look as he regarded the Sunspire female curiously, a glint of amusement still visible in his eye. "What brings you here?" he asked with a tilt of his head, wondering what a Sunspire wolf was doing so far from home. Was it far? He didn't bother to remember these things. Unimportant. RE: body of water - Kipling - August 31, 2014 His confession comes at a surprise, and Kipling who grew puzzled at his laughter replaced the expression with one of intrigue. Trouble in paradise? She pressed the question, eager to find out more about the situation in Swiftcurrent. Being that her pack and his were practically neighbors, it was valuable gossip that could more than personal amusement. Either way the sarcasm had dropped from her tone, and Kipling waded a bit closer in the water her ears prick towards the silver figure on the shore. The other question he offers in return leaves her to give a slight shrug of her shoulder, obviously having not much to say about it, though she offers, I was visiting someone. As an explanation, the lie falling from her muzzle without a second thought. I'm not quite the type when it comes to scouting land. The implication touching on her prior point, and it's obvious then with a fierce curiosity, she's hungry for details. RE: body of water - Shadow - September 01, 2014 "Trouble in paradise?" His keen ears did not miss the eager tone in her voice. Even though he might be leaving the Creek soon, doesn't mean he would randomly give away its secrets. He was loyal to his home, or his home for now and he wouldn't betray it to a Sunspire wolf. "Nope, just leaving to start my own pack." he said pleasantly with a tilt of his head. "I was visiting someone." she shrugs. I'm not quite the type when it comes to scouting land. He didn't reply instead began to lick a paw slowly, his mind on other things. This conversation with the Sunspire wolf was totally unwanted and if she wished to be nosy she could be but you could not expect any answer like the one she wanted from an angel of death. RE: body of water - Kipling - September 07, 2014 “Oh.” Her tone falls flat then, able to decipher from his own that he’s not willing to dish out any of the gossip she’d eager to eat up. Kipling sighs, contemplating for a moment if it’s enough to pursue, but then thinks against it—he’s pretty much shut her off. Watching a moment as the wolf begins to groom, she lifts herself up from the water, shaking off loose drops of water as she returns to the land. It’s enough for now, with the little clutch of knowledge that she has, that there might be another pack competing for resources in the Wilds. And just that speck insight would well enough to be useful. “You know, if you want to seem bored, try yawning, or rolling your eyes some more.” She advises him, observing his attempts to brush her off with a renewed smile. “Anyways—“ She sighs once more, “—I guess I’ll leave you to a week’s worth of bad breathe. Have fun with the fishies.” Playfully bowing out of his way, and turning tail to begin the trek back to the mountain. |
