life's too short - Tuvaq - July 07, 2020

He's just on the edges of the forest. Tags for reference and Acheron is always welcome in Tuvaq's threads, but I'm looking for some Saints wolves ^^

It was rare that he was far from @Acheron these days, but Tuvaq was indeed a wanderer, and he'd found himself curious about this stretch of woods. It would have been foreboding to most, but Tuvaq wasn't tuned into things like that. No, in his mind the sap leaking from the trees was just that - sap. Interesting, of course, but nothing meaningful.

There was an underlying scent of other wolves here. Not too strong, maybe one or two, but still there. He could already hear Acheron telling him to be careful, and he was. He didn't break the tree line.

It was dusky outside, and he'd have to get back to his companion soon to rest for the night, but Tuvaq wanted to stay out a little longer. He padded along the tree line, pausing to sniff periodically at the leaking trunks, and only halted when he heard a raven's call nearby. It was on the ground, halfway beneath a bush, and looked worse for wear. If Tuvaq had to guess, it only had a few hours left to live. As he watched, it flopped gracelessly, squawked a time or two, and flitted off beneath the brush, never to be seen again.

Perhaps today was full of what other wolves might consider to be bad omens.

If the omens of this place foretold a devil, it was herself.
Sly, cunning, deadly, and absolutely merciless to anyone who got in her way.
Not to mention beautiful.
Her sooty pelt slipped between the trees elegantly as though she were a part of the shadows themselves.
She paused, nose to the air, chore of marking the borders interrupted. A visitor. Not quite tresspassing, but a presence at the borders. Grateful for the break in monotony she moved towards it, tail and head held high as she slipped into view.
A male. Young. Purebred. Decently built. And blonde. Her eyes wandered over his frame in a way that was somehow both cold and detached, as well as lustful, as though she were gaguing the quality of a scrap of meat rather than a wolf.
Finally, she spoke.
"Well...hello handsome." She purred, hips swaying as she moved closer. "And what brings you to the boundary of our humble abode?"

RE: life's too short - Tuvaq - July 07, 2020

Oh, Tuvaq was well acquainted with her type. The way she scanned him over, objectifying his body and thinking of ways she could use him. In the not-so-distant past, he might've jumped at the opportunity to have his way with her, because she certainly was not bad looking. But now, even though she was looking at him like that and her voice was pitched just so, Tuvaq did not want to partake. His mind flooded with freckles and blue eyes and he imagined Acheron would be upset by his actions if he were to do so.

"The trees," he said simply, gesturing to the thick sap dripping down the trunk of the one nearest him. Fascinating, almost like it was bleeding. "They're interesting."

Hazel eyes flitted over the woman and he tipped his head to the side, regarding her with a similar way of disinterest and chill, though a small smile had formed on his maw. "Are you forming a pack here?" he questioned. He was not particularly interested in packs. Acheron had been in one before, and they were adventuring, so they didn't really need themselves to be tied down like that. But he'd like to know who was in the area.

He's equally aloof, and after the poor excuses for wolves she's had to contend with lately she's grateful for an interaction more her speed.
he mentions the trees and she nods, her own smile creeping into place.
"They certainly are something. It's why we chose this place. When even the trees are soaked in what appears to be blood, it's easy to get a reputation." A reputation she was quite proud of. After she had nearly killed Praimafaya, and her confrontation with Hua, she was certain that there were stories being told of her savagery. She was almost curious what was being said about her.
He inquired about the pack and she nodded curtly. "Myself and my-" Mate? Was that what he was? It was certainly what she desired. But did he view her the same way? "Partner."  She finally added. "His Idea, but our... approach to leadership is similar enough that we have the same Ideas for this place."

RE: life's too short - Tuvaq - July 07, 2020

Blood? Yes, it appeared to be blood, but Tuvaq was not one to be fooled by mere appearance. Not in nature. Stepping forward, the boy reached out a paw and touched the viscous substance, eyeing the way it clung to his paw.

"It's just sap. It only looks like blood," he said calmly, and probably would've leaned down to taste it if not for the fact that it might be poisonous. "Does that really scare people?" It was something Tuvaq would never understand - superstition and letting your imagination run wild like that. It didn't make any sense whatsoever.

Flicking his gaze back to her, he listened to her explanation. Partner. That sounded about right for what Acheron was to him, actually. Partners. "And what are your ideas?" he questioned, tipping his head to the side.

She shrugged. "Weaker minded wolves, I suppose. I don't bother with such fantasies. If you're dumb enough to believe a tree can bleed. There's a lot Wrong with you." She laughed. Her tail swayed, relaxed. He queried about the pack forming and she eagerly divulged.
"Focus on military. Something formidable. What allies we have we keep close. Make yourself an enemy and things will end badly for you. "
