chapter one - Mintaka - July 07, 2020 mintaka is exploring a lil bit ^^ anyone is welcome!
Outside of the Den was becoming Mintaka's favorite. There was so much to do out here! And she pushed her limits here, wandering further and further every day. Not too far, of course, but she was older now, and her legs were getting longer and walking was getting easier. It was only natural that she use her newfound abilities, of course. It was sunny out, today. Warm and bright and beautiful. As she walked out from the den, nose tipped to the air, she was immediately distracted. A butterfly, bright yellow, flitted past her nose, and of course she had to follow it! Her pawsteps were only slightly clumsy as she chased the insect, entranced by its brightness and how it shimmered in the sunshine. RE: chapter one - Mira - July 07, 2020 To the side of the den entrance, Mira sat, ears swiveling. Suddenly something flew before her, a living dandelion. Ignoring Mintaka's more lighthearted chase, Mira came towards the butterfly too, snapping her teeth up into the air wherever she could. Unfortunately, it continued to flutter in ways that escaped her fangs, and she grew frustrated, though never ceased her hunt. RE: chapter one - Hydra - July 08, 2020 Hydra returned to her cubs with a thigh of some creature she had scavenged. After thoroughly looking it over and being certain there was nothing the matter with the carrion (some other scavenger had simply eaten its full and moved on, and after investigation that thing was far from the Spear), she knew her cubs could both play with it and attempt to eat it, too. Again she would teach them. They chased insects, and @Dirge had been watching them; he lingered still with his head upon his forelegs, watching them quietly. @Altair and @Caelum rest with him for now, their own eyes closed as they snoozed, no doubt low energy then for the draining heat the sun brought. Hydra deposited the leg of meat and placed a heavy paw upon it, beginning to tear into it none too quietly to rouse the attention of her offspring so that they might join her at the proverbial dinner table. RE: chapter one - Mintaka - July 18, 2020 Oh, the smell of food was so enticing, but so was the butterfly... Mintaka looked from the fluttering creature to her mother, then down to the food she was eating, and then back up to the butterfly again. It was a clear struggle for her, to give up chasing this insect and to go to her mother's side instead, but she managed well enough. The silver girl shook her head decisively and bounced over to Hydra, weaving in between her forelegs and letting out a happy growl as she nosed against Hydra's chest. "Hi, mama!" she chirped brightly, politely ignoring the meat in order to properly greet her mom first. RE: chapter one - Mira - July 19, 2020 Mintaka liked to greet mama first. Mintaka liked to use her words. Mira was not like Mintaka. It was not out of rudeness that she came with eyes on the meat. An appreciative glance paid to her mother who had Mintaka wrapped around one of her legs, but nothing more. Soon her gaze had fallen back to the carrion, which she sniffed curiously before digging her fangs in, hoping to tear off a smaller and more manageable piece. RE: chapter one - Hydra - August 26, 2020 o shit i suck! ill make this guy a priority hehe. Hydra watched as Mintaka came to her, first, and when her young, silver daughter was beneath her Hydra moved to groom a cowlick she had spotted before nipping the tip of her ear in hello; Mira approached the meat, and began to eat. Hydra would let Mintaka do the same, stepping around them to find her own place. Only when Mintaka began to eat would Hydra instill yet another life lesson, and in the meantime Hydra groomed herself as though she were not paying full attention. RE: chapter one - Mintaka - October 21, 2020 After being greeted in return, Mintaka turned her attention to the morsel of meat her mother had brought for them. Tail swishing behind her, she would dip her head down and tear off a piece from the side Mira was not eating on. She didn't want to take her sister's share, after all, and there was plenty for both of them, so she didn't see the issue. |
