Thought it was them, but maybe it's me - Takiyok - July 07, 2020 hoping for someone who can give taki some pointers on fishing, but not a requirement or anything
She wandered from the spire once more, something she was slowly regaining the energy for. She was still thin, but less so; the weight was taking its sweet time rebuilding, and it kept her bound to Sagtannet still—that and her son, who she couldn't imagine leaving again. She was stuck trying to make an impossible decision and blaming it solely on her condition for as long as it still made her too weak to leave on her own. But she had ventured to the creek today to get away from all of that. She wanted peace and some kind of distraction from her life. As always, the water was a welcome sight, especially after a trek down the side of the mountains in the middle of the summer. Today hadn't even been as warm as it had been, but it was still not cold enough for her liking. So the second she spotted water, she sprinted for it, sinking herself into its cool depths the second her paws met the creek. She lay down in the shallow end and let the water seep into her fur, staying like that for a long while. Eventually, the water settled around her, and the sound of a splash made her eyes flick over to the ripples left in the water by what she now realized was a fish. She watched and waited for the creature to swim closer. It took longer than expected but when she saw it glide by her paw, she shot her muzzle into the water and snapped her jaws a few times, pulling her head up with nothing but a mouth full of water to show for it. Now she was set on catching one of these things on principle alone, so she settled again and waited. RE: Thought it was them, but maybe it's me - Auriel - July 16, 2020 (Auriel knows how to fish pretty well, she spent a lot of time along the coastline) She had slept well that night after meeting Donovan the wolf-dog, down by Phantom Hollow. From there she had spent the early morning following the river where it met with Greatwater Lake. There she had tried her luck at fishing, and had even caught a minnow or two. She moved on as the sun was at it's highest, following the dribble of a creek where the tan-and-white she-wolf had even chased an otter through the cool waters until it dissapeared into the alder trees. That was the exact moment she realised she was not alone. Auriel leaped neatly up the bank and out of the water, slowing her pace to a walk as approached the older she-wolf. "Hello." She barked, tail wagging gently behind her. She noticed the female was fishing, and unsucessfully at that, judging by the non-exsistance of a fish pile. RE: Thought it was them, but maybe it's me - Takiyok - July 21, 2020 She tried again and again to catch a fish but clearly, she was doing something incorrectly. She wasn't used to failing at things, so by the time the stranger appeared, Taki was thoroughly frustrated. She shook the water from her face and turned to inspect the woman with he usual suspicion. She was quiet a few moments as she looked her over. But finally she offered a curt nod. I'm a little busy, she said first, as if it wasn't obvious. Unless you know how to fish, I'd like to get back to work. She wasn't in the mood to socialize ever really, but especially not when she was hyperfixated on getting something right. She refused to leave here without catching at least once damn fish, even if it took her all day and all night. |
