You ain't even here to party - Mira - July 17, 2020 Now that they were getting to be a bit bigger, Hydra's children could explore a few inches further beyond the den each day. Mira was not directly before the entrance, but only fifteen to twenty feet off. Here she laid among rocks and soil, blue-shifting-gold gaze scanning the ground for anything of interest as she wiggled slightly through low grasses. Occasionally a bug or butterfly would catch her eye, and she might entertain a few moments flashing fangs at them, but for the most part she found little, and certainly caught nothing. RE: You ain't even here to party - RIP Desdemona - July 17, 2020 Desdemona returned from the mountains, unsuccessfuly catching yet another prey. Her streak had been failing as of late, and so terribly that she couldn't even properly catch a rabbit. Was she that old? Surely not, perhaps more of a finer adult, but her bones yet to creak, and she had not settled down fully.
Perhaps dulled.. During these times she resulted into cracking leftover bones the spider would find along the mountain path, turning her fustrations into grinding them down. Sometimes she would run across mountain paths, a perfect jog, or otherwise stretch in morning yoga. All had been done, and not wanting to overexert herself, she crawled back up to the main space with a large bone. Coming up, Desdemona caught sight of one of Hydra's second litter. She looked over curiously at the pitch-black pup named Mira. RE: You ain't even here to party - Mira - July 17, 2020 And Mira gazed back, but truly, she was fixated on the bone more than anything. The wolf was intriguing too, though- unfamiliar, and gaze rested on her face momentarily. Mira's eyes moved back to the bone. Dark nose sniffed the air curiously, wishing to know if this was another killthing, and if so, how it had been destroyed. The scent was hard to pick up from here, and so the child slumped slightly as if disappointed, and yet did not want to make a show of skipping over to the stranger. RE: You ain't even here to party - RIP Desdemona - July 17, 2020 The child seemed more interested in the bone then of herself. She supposed pups would be more care to toys rather then others, but Desdemona really does not know how. She didn't know how to interact with them either, and yet saw the wanting and curiosity that Mira had.
"Do you want this?" She walked over a bit more, but still kept a distance to not disturb @Hydra. RE: You ain't even here to party - Mira - July 17, 2020 Do you want this? Mira breathed awkwardly like a hospital patient meeting death, jaw hanging open and yet chained to a wall, unable to grasp any words, uncomfortable, insane. want. She croaked finally, swiping a tongue across dry black lips. This was the language they wished her to use. Other words- Mira, you, I, it, this, food, kill, mama. They floated in that dark chasm that was her mind; she studied them daily. Still the language of beating came so naturally. Mira felt like she was fresh out a good session of therapy each time she established dominance over one of her siblings. To her, that was real communication. RE: You ain't even here to party - RIP Desdemona - July 18, 2020 Desdemona gently placed the bone onto the ground, and used her paw to push it forward toward the pup. She figured it was big enough where it'd be difficult for her to cause any harm, or choking hazard, but she was diligant on watching just in case. It minor marks from her own biting, but still was fresh. However she really didn't know how long it had been onto the mountains, as the spider simply picked it up on the way.
RE: You ain't even here to party - Mira - July 19, 2020 tick tock tick tock tick tock The bone was placed before her and she snatched it up eagerly. Jaws wrapped themselves around something that felt natural there- and she lowered her head beneath her shoulders, gnawing more viciously than her siblings might. She paused, tongue trailing itself across the indentations in exploration, feeling each groove, each almost-splinter. Mira dropped it for a moment- looking up to Desdemona. But she did not know what words were expected. And so in a moment's time, she had returned her fangs to the bone, and continued to chew like a rapid beast. RE: You ain't even here to party - RIP Desdemona - July 19, 2020 She wasn't particulary good with pups, and wasn't sure how to deal with them. She seemed satisfied with the bone? Seein how vicious the bone was being bitten, she assumed it was a good play toy, "Like it?" was all she could really muster, to ask the pup... Which Desdemona also wasn't sure, if she was of age to speak.
RE: You ain't even here to party - Mira - July 22, 2020 Like it? Mira's gaze floated upwards when the stranger spoke. For a moment the chewing of her bone slowed, and she stared quietly at the stranger as if there was something interesting balanced atop her snout, something only the snake could see. Why did they demand words? Like it.She muttered in repetition, never fully releasing her grip on the toy. It was coated in markings now, she dropped it to her paws, taking a moment to lick hanging saliva from her dark muzzle. Killed it?Mira questioned quietly, as she flipped it with dark paw to a cleaner side and continued her gnawing. RE: You ain't even here to party - RIP Desdemona - July 22, 2020 "No. Found." Desdemona did not find the need to lie about it, as the bone had finely aged for some time. There wasn't a speck of meat on it or blood, and only been found within the mountains. Though despite originally being her own toy, that pup had cleanly start marking it all over. She was afraid the girl would shatter it to pieces.
RE: You ain't even here to party - Mira - July 23, 2020 Luckily, the bone was not weak nor did it belong to a bird, and it would not splinter yet. When Desdemona said she found it rather than slaughtered, Mira's gaze fell slightly, disappointment masked. The girl's want to hunt could be satisfied by this toy, she thought, as she grated fangs along it, imagining she was skinning a mouse alive. After some time, she eventually grew bored, and nudged the slobber-covered bone back to the adult, a slight wag of her tail offered as thanks before she would slip away back to the den. |
