wake up, am I dreaming? - Huā - July 31, 2020

let's say august 2nd if that works for ya? last message delivery  FINALLY T,_T"

Visiting Neverwinter was positively great, but Huā had one more business venture to take care of. The last allies that she had not visited recently; Moonspear. Huā arrived in the morning carrying a rabbit for Hydra (or kids, had she had any this season? It had been too long since her last visit!), and stopped when she scented the border, backing up a yard or two for good measure. Straightening her appearance and lapping down a stray lock of fur on her chest, Huā placed the gift down at her feet and let out a call for @Hydra , summoning her if avaliable.

RE: wake up, am I dreaming? - Hydra - August 01, 2020

It had been some time since she had seen Hua or her dear friend, @Ying. She knew that the two of them had hoped for children, and perhaps Ying had found a suitable partner... or else was aiding her sister. As she thought of them, a call came—and the matriarch wondered if she possesesed the power to summon one to her simply by thinking of them. It was a passing thought, though one that offered her pleasure to imagine; she knew better than to believe that even for a moment, though it was amusing to think.

She had been training her cubs in the basics of defending themselves, though @Dirge obliged her (without complaint and with pleasure, it seemed) in taking over her watch; @Alya, too, presented herself to aid in cubsitting. She descended the Spear expertly, and arrived to her other friend from Yuélóng before long. Hydra noted the gift that had been brought, chuffing lowly in thanks. Huā—you are well, I trust? she drawled, looking her over for any physical sign of the contrary.

RE: wake up, am I dreaming? - Huā - August 04, 2020

Huā nodded vaguely, despite the news she brought with her- it was out of manners that she started things pleasantly. Myself and my relatives bring children to Yuèlóng this season. We are thriving well. It was no secret- Huā had told Hydra of her blunder the first time they'd met; the fact that she had let a man upon her in her heat, though had never disclosed whom. Though she knew it was an idiotic thing now- she would never take it back, for her brood were now her greatest blessings in life. I hope Moonspear is also well? She ventured, waiting for a response before continuing.

Huā's voice became more serious as she moved to the important matters. As you have tell me of your enemies, and they become mine, I come here to warn you also. There is another group of kidnapper, and attacker of the weak, in the Wild. I can tell you several of their crime.

RE: wake up, am I dreaming? - Hydra - August 15, 2020

We are, she drawled, though there have been several changes, she hummed. She would get to that, though she anticipated the other was here for a reason. Hydra would not distract her, or herself, from it, and fell silent then so as to allow the woman room to explain. And once she did, Hydra's stoic expression was drawn into that of an impending storm. Were it possible, lightning would crackle within her eyes. Let these monsters breathe, and they would only spread. Her children would want to explore the wilds... but with such beings on the loose, well, it brought her no comfort to even contemplate allowing it.

Tell me all that you know, she drawled, her attentions for the new mother alone. Hydra might have noted the changes of her person—how the softness of motherhood earned her a new edge, for instance—were it not for her focus upon what it was she knew she may need to undertake... There was nothing she would not do for the wolves that she loved. And all such nefarious things ran rampant in her mind now. More than ever, as Hua being a woman with children of her own now, Hydra felt certain she was not alone in these thoughts.

RE: wake up, am I dreaming? - Huā - August 20, 2020

Several changes, she told, and Huā thought of that day she had encountered Arcturus alone on the beach, casting off Moonspear and smelling of different lands. The empress kept her mouth shut. If Hydra wished to explain their personal matters, she would, otherwise Huā had no desire to pry; it was not her business. To Hydra's demand, the siren nodded and began:

There is a man call Donovan. He wanted to live on the coast with his pack- already, too close to my Yuèlóng, but this is not my issue. He also with woman of brown and grey, green eyes. The woman, I find her in the hunting ground by island. Of course I tell her to leave, it is ours- but she stay and mock me, and my warrior. Two beside me. She is a fool, we fight her away easy. With that the empress smirked, recalling what an idiot that woman had been. No wolf with a brain would try to take on three in their own land. The problem with brainless wolves, though, was that as stupid as they were, they would always act on their foolish thoughts, causing trouble wherever they went. Her face fell serious again as she continued.

The man, Donovan, kidnap an innocent woman of the north, call Aphrodite. He hold her with him for a week or two, away from her pack. I cannot imagine what kind of things he did to her- but when Aiolos, my fellow leader now, found them together, he attacked the man. The man tear him half to death. Here my general and I find him, and fight away the blood-thirsty man.

I also find a young warrior on beach called Praimfaya- And here it was unknown that Hydra and Praimfaya had met- Who tried to pass through land they want to claim, in peace. At this time there is only the two of them. But the brown woman seek to kill her, and she is wounded. At a time Huā would mention to them that Donovan was the one who stepped in to stop that fight- but now, after the encounter in the forest, there was no room left to spare him. He had had his chance at redemption and proven himself an arrogant madman. And considering this, she continued.

A few week ago, I gather some other wolf, from other pack- Mal, Ira, Lumiya, Simmik- if you have meet any of these. I wanted to visit you for help too, but at that time I feel too rushed, and just go. We all tell him he must leave- and though we state his crime, he make himself victim. He say he kidnap woman because his family die. I think that is foolish reason to hurt other people. So many wolf lose family, but do not need to capture or kill. A moment of quiet, and she shook her dark head, as if to herself. I see now it is not worth wasting my breath on arrogant fool.

The strength of motherhood was indeed in her. A younger Huā might've leapt into war, but now there were little ones to protect- and she could not be so quick with her actions. Her seaglass gaze shifted back up to Hydra, intense. I am hearing now that they in north mountains, with more member. Though it is far from me, it is near my ally- and I fear also, that their violence may go beyond mountain. A sigh, and then she was quiet, awaiting the queen's words.

RE: wake up, am I dreaming? - Hydra - August 25, 2020

Hydra listened to the tale of the empress with apt interest. She found she could understand the other easily enough now, where once it took her several moments to piece together and translate in full what was being told to her. Hydra took note of everything said, logging each detail as it was provided. Hydra was glad to hear of the leader beating the other that had been so foolish as to challenge three to a piece of land she had no claim to... and evidently, Donovan had elected not to help the other that, presumably, ran with him.

Aiolos, a fellow leader, her general.

Ying. Where was @Ying in this? Perhaps with the children... a good sister, but surprising to hear the roles between the two women shift so. The woman before her fighting where once it had been her sister! Confusion came for a moment as to whether or not Donovan had been the one torn half to death, or her general... she would ask after; Hydra hoped it was the former, and that if he did not die from that battle then perhaps from a wicked infection. A painful death, but surely one he deserved from his misdeeds.

Hydra's attention was brought to as the other mentioned Praimfaya. Hydra had not thought long on the girl since she had discovered the other had departed from Moonspear willingly and of her own free will. To hear that she had come to harm was... unfortunate. But such came with the dangers of of being a lone wolf. Hydra would certainly kill any who sought to walk through Moonspear, in peace or otherwise. The world was big enough to take the longer route. All the same, Hydra was displeased to hear it, if only because she cared for the girl once—but Praimfaya had made her choice.

As the other went on, Hydra did not feel excluded from the events that came after despite not being involved. She had been busy rearing her children and defending Moonspear—the rest were closer to this threat, and it made all the sense in the world that they were called upon. Ira, Mal, Simmik... these she knew. Lumiya she did not, but evidently the Saints had earned themselves more enemies. Hydra was glad to know of them; their leader sounded... well, irrational, all told and revealed.

Aiolos... is he alright? She asked firstly, caring for the wellbeing of those that fought with the empress. In the next breath, she asked, how does Donovan look, in appearance? She was quiet as she awaited the response to this, too. You are not wrong to think so. Such is the nature of wolves with their spirit, she revealed candidly, and added, Aphrodite will not be the last wolf they come to harm, nor Praimfaya—of that I am certain. Someday your children will find their legs taking them further and further from home, as surely as my own may—and someday, it could be them who the Saints turn their teeth against, for no reason at all but for their own broken, ruined spirit, she rumbled darkly, mocking Donovan's bid to turn himself into a victim thanking his own dead family (thank whatever powers might be for that good fortune, as Hydra thought genocide for that brand of wolf was the safest, best course for all) for his own behavior.

Hydra fell quiet then, her expression as dark and foreboding as her words. And then, Ira fought with you, as did Lumiya and Mal, with Simmik... Have they shared similar experiences with these Saints? she wondered. How far had these wolves gone, thus far? Did the rest see what she did? How much further they could, if allowed the room to breathe? These wolves were all better and far kinder than she if they did not—it would get them killed.

She was no hero, not in any story. Not in this one, either. There was no glory in the things she imagined doing to those that might harm her own. Only blood and gore. Hydra knew there was no if, should these Saints continue to roam the map freely... only when

And also that she did not want to grant them the chance.

RE: wake up, am I dreaming? - Huā - August 27, 2020

Yes, She sighed with some relief, He recovered well. Donovan, he is first part dog- with a curling tail and a doglike face. His belly is light, but back dark, with a- um, stripes? all along. Gold eyes. And always smiling too much. She frowned, thinking back to how he had acted when met on normal terms the first time. Grinning at her, giving a name, all the while with the kidnapped Aphrodite beside him like it was nothing. The thought made her sick, but more than anything, it filled her with an anger.

As Hydra spoke, Huā listened again. The responsibility of a mother was so much greater now with evils out in the world; never could she let her children wander far until she was confident they could hold their own in battle and make intelligent decisions elsewhere. She could not bear the thought that Luli or any other might be snatched up in another kidnapping by Donovan. Who knew what he did with his captives- she could only assume the worst.

Hydra asked after the ally's experiences with the enemy, and though word of everything had not reached Huā yet, still she had a few things to list. Lumiya told me Donovan trespassed in their land when it was well marked already, and laughed at her caution when he is escorted out. Also, a saint wolf attacked one of their warrior. As for the other ally pack, I do not know any occurrence yet, but I am sure they are not finished causing their trouble. She knew not yet of the things to come in the month ahead: but with it, multiple attacks on Neverwinter wolves without reason would solidify her opinion of the saints once more.

There was no doubt in her mind that Hydra knew best when it came to dealing with the scum of the earth. It was a lucky thing that the empress had gained favor with her even after her offensive first meeting, and now she was glad to have the queen of the wilderness on her side- for as Huā was still learning to abandon the gentleness she was raised with, Hydra had already tossed sympathy away, and never seemed to hesitate in her choices, as final as they may seem.

RE: wake up, am I dreaming? - Hydra - September 15, 2020

Huā described the man.

Dog was not something Hydra had ever heard of before, but she felt—as Huā described his tail—she had seen something of the sort before. And if she hadn't, well, she imagined she might know it when she saw it. Dog was not wolf, that much she gathered. So he would smell foul, like the coyote and the fox. And the stripes... how many wolves wore stripes in the Wilds?

No, she agreed to the count of trouble, creatures such as they never will be, if not stopped, she knew. Why should they? Why would they? It was their nature. And they were being permitted to act in such a way, given the green light and the go ahead by all those who would not fight back. Hydra sighed. I must think on this. See if I can learn any more, while I am at it, she decided, ear flicking. The Saints were some distance away; Hydra looked to the peaks beyond. While she did not want to grant them the opportunity to wrong her, they also had yet to do so on a personal level.

All things, in time. Should she grant them the chance?

Much to think on, and mull over. And she would.

Looking back to Huā, she hummed, perhaps when these rains end, our children might meet, and we can speak again. What do you think of this? she inquired with a prick of her ears.

RE: wake up, am I dreaming? - Huā - September 28, 2020

Huā believed the same as Hydra. Often she was regarded as a pacifist for the gentle ways she treated most, all the times she had ever been a pushover or taken little charge. But in her heart she believed in justice. She believed that criminals ought to be rightfully punished for what they'd done- and thus, as long as criminals ran free they would continue to be criminals, and bring their own death upon them. Hydra told the empress she would think on it, to which the smaller woman nodded.

The suggestion which came next lit Huā's face brighter. The opportunity for their children to meet- and the seawolf much liked the idea of her blood mingling with those of a strong heritage, and perhaps forming connections there. Maybe in these lands arranging marriage was not so common, but Huā saw little problem with shoving puzzle pieces together until something clicked into place. And even if they roughhoused as puppies would- there was time. She did not know at what age children began developing crushes, but whenever it would be was the most essential time for playdates. Huā hoped this occasion would not be only the first and last. Absolutely. The siren agreed warmly with a nod, a smile gracing her features for a moment. Their discussion about politics and criminals was closing; thus Huā saw no trouble in asking What are their names; how old are they?
