he’d never been taught that names meant anything; had he never met @Polaris, he might have never even known about their surname, which he only kept because of its connection to their father.
thus, one could not expect alsek to know that changing his name to something different, might mean more than he’d thought.
rosewood came to him in a dream, similar to a gift left on one’s doorstep by passing spirits. he knew upon waking up that it was a name he planned to keep, if only as a placeholder for where his birth name once was. with this information, he set out to find his sister and share the big news.
