free mind - Guardián - August 11, 2020

guardián thought about the seasonal shift, asking himself if they would all be this intense. he thought about valour and vanity, her children, and if they’d all made it somewhere safe before the storms started. for a brief moment, his mind wandered to his parents, to his siblings — but guard couldn’t let those thoughts dwell for too long.

there was a short lapse in the rain, which he thought he would take advantage of by patrolling. surely, their border was taking some damage; the storms came back to back, which meant extra reinforcements should have been any mercenary’s priority. guard walked along legion’s ridge, his mind still racing through topics.

RE: free mind - Arbiter - August 12, 2020

Gonna get this on ye olde threadlog before I forget!

With the break in the rain, Arbiter went to stretch her legs. She'd left the pups in the care of either Spook or Kaertok, whoever she spotted first, and wandered towards the edges to maybe mark a bit of the borders. She was not a fan of rain, it was one of the benefits of the den, but the continued soaking was making being underground also unpleasant. Besides, it would become crowded there soon enough.

So, it wasn't a particular wonder she was out and saw Guardian moving up ahead. She wuffed to him. Hopefully he was settling in, though she wasn't unaware he'd been by the den since, either.

guardián turned around and smiled at arbiter, then stopped walking to give her some time to catch up. assuming she would approach, he would wait until they were side by side to spark a conversation.

hey, arbiter, he said, this place is really cool. guard was enjoying his life here at legion; it was a better fit for him than where he’d been before, though he didn’t really know why.

There was no pause, patrols were things where she'd just keep moving. Talk on the go. Either way, Arbiter liked Guardian's attitude. Settled in then? she inquired, sort of bemused by the sound of it. Are you keen to do patrols like this? I suspect I'll be seeing you out here a fair amount. She was allowed more freedom now, despite the weather. Sometime soon she'd be bringing the children out here -- well, not soon soon, but at the rate they grew, they'd be out here in no time. Kids grew, after all.
