Into the Unknown - Calhoun - August 22, 2020

Step after step, his legs burned, every muscle aching to stay rooted to the Earth as Calhoun made his way up the side of the mountain. The constant rain made each step question his grip as the mountain threatened to throw him back down to the base at which he started, but determined he pressed on. It had taken all day to scale the side, though it felt like several, but eventually, his work would be rewarded with a landing for him to rest.

Better yet... a cave seemed to catch his attention nestled into the side of the peak. A place to rest away from the rain that soaked him to his core. Using what strength he had left, Cal's paws carried him past the mouth where he could shake out some of the water that clung. He had believed once before that the High Elk was testing his followers, but now he knew that to be true with the horrid weather that had no end in sight. A sigh escaped him as his rear fell to the ground to give his paws a moment's rest.

RE: Into the Unknown - Célnes - August 23, 2020

Célnes told anyone with her they were currently laying at the highest peak of the mountain. Definitely away from landslides, safety from the unknown. She did dwelve to the thought of another pack, but perhaps would talk to the others before then. The Deorwine's definitely would hesitate, and she.. Definitely did as well. They left Whitebark as soon as word of Kendrick was around, and what if he moved again, and they too, moved along?

She wish not for a bad reputation, especially when they may make the area a new place to live by. The words of Germanicus were remembered. They were noble wolves, followers of the High Elk, containing the Deorwine name, they must present themselves in a certain way. Especially herself, who was direct lineage to the royal bloodline- as so remembered her dearest father would say. It was laughable, when she thought so, but a bit of it seemed to be drilled in.

She ventured with thought, going up and down the mountains. Of course there was some pack home, but the wolves generally lived downwards into the forests.  Though her legs burned with what was not used to, and when she saw a cave, Célnes went toward. Especially, to escape from the torrent of rainfall.

Though it seemed.. Someone else was there, "Calhoun?"

The long silence he had traveled under wouldn't last for long, though in this case, it wasn't unfortunate. A familiar voice hit his ears causing a quick turn of the hunter's head to make sure he hadn't imagined it, Célnes— you fair well? Part of him was excited to see his cousin again, though Cenric's words still hung over his head. She had led her siblings to another pack, be it temporary, it still went against their ways.

I've heard from Cenric. I thought you took refuge at a pile of streams? He wouldn't recall the name, rather that be from his lack of caring or the detail omitted by his cousin, it didn't matter to him. Only one pack mattered.

"Temporary recovery, and reconnaissance." Her brother, while they were close, he was still a sly wolf. She saw him as someone who was willing to throw others down in order to improve his own look, just as all their family has done. Perhaps the two take after their father in that way, who strived to remove anyone who wished to take the crown of inheritance.

"A few other of us are settling in the mountains." Despite the rather brash statement of Calhoun, she took it all with a vixien smile and a poker-face of the Deorwine fashion.

As long as it's not permanent... He'd like to add "then I see no issue", but he had always been brutally honest and in his mind, it was still a betrayal. So Instead, Cal knew better and kept his mouth shut. His interest was peaked however at the mentioning of others in the mountain range, There are others here? Who else? There was still no word of Corliss, but something told him that she made it out of the forest before he. After all he had stayed to look with poor results. Calhoun still thought of his parents dying words, but it was the will of the High Elk so he must accept it.

"Of course not," a reassurance to her cousin, "we do not belong in the mountains. He would never stay there for long either." While there was some who were hoofed that laid in the mountains, none were Him, nor the Apostles that follow their God. The elk would stay to their flatlands in the forests, and that is where Déorwine would follow as well.

She had no intention to stay here, it was unfamiliar grounds, but a place to for now.

"Follow me to see." She didn't express who was there yet, mostly due to the fact she wouldn't know if her brother brought more family alongside. It seemed they would grow each day, and now Calhoun would also follow the two up toward the mountain.

RE: Into the Unknown - Calhoun - September 19, 2020

Calhoun gauged his cousin's words carefully, though he was happy to see that perhaps she had not completely lost her mind. She knew well enough that the High Elk wouldn't settle here, and frankly neither would he. He said nothing as Célnes gestured for him to follow, instead favoring to shut up and see for himself who she and her siblings had gathered from the old lands.

oop short sorry maybe another round and wrap up? I wanna use for a trade

RE: Into the Unknown - Célnes - September 28, 2020

"He will guide is to the right land eventually, cousin." Célnes had confidence in her words as she assured him so again. It would also be nice to include Calhoun, for not only his spirtuality, but for his hunting abilities. His tracking could help find their deity, and slowly could they shift toward where the land he has blessed.

So she hoped.

RE: Into the Unknown - Calhoun - September 28, 2020

"He will guide is to the right land eventually, cousin."

The hunter nodded more so to himself than his cousin as he acknowledged the words, I trust his plan, even if I may not understand it. The forceful move from their home was dramatic, extreme, yet it was with purpose. Those who died passed for a reason, just as those who survived had a purpose to still carry out. For now, all he could do was wait and keep moving forward.

RE: Into the Unknown - Célnes - September 29, 2020

"We shall never understand his ways, and only pray he shall guide is right." Célnes replied her religious dialogue as she walked toward their safe-location at the Sunspire. However there was a bit of wary how he would do with grayscale ones that she brought alongside from Whitebark.

It was something she would not address while leading him so.
