breathe in the fumes - Astaroth - September 10, 2020 not much could be seen in the dim moonlit pasture other than a smog of smoke and grease shifting throughout the golden sea of towering grass. like a shadow chasing the last fading light, he made his way to the edge of the meadow, lost of breath and left in awe as he stopped to suck in a breath. the taste of the sea danced across his lips as a gust of wind tangled the familiar smells of the ocean through his monochrome fur.
oh how he missed the days of sand shifting beneath his paws and the sun relentlessly pouring down rays of warmth. he knew it would only be a matter of time before the days grew cold and the sea turn sour. he only hoped they'd be back on the island before then, for there was still so much he wished to show sotiris before the snows came and stole their time. ever the fairy-tale dreamer, astaroth lowered himself to admire the scenery, content to stay here under the stars for another hour or two before he'd have to return to reality and head back to the forest where his family rest. RE: breathe in the fumes - Keres - September 16, 2020 She's in the area so I figured why not :D A scent on the wind had led her north and west, angling to perhaps bypass the mountain that loomed so close now. It was not her home, however, and so she ignored the land's feature, happy to walk on flatter ground rather than waste energy scaling something when she had no idea of its size. It would have been foolish as well, as darkness enveloped the spire, leaving it to be no more than a shadowed void that blotted out a triangle of the sky.Closer she drew and the scent grew strong and familiar. The Ocean. Her tail waved behind her at the recognition, quickening her pace as she sought the vast waters that she believed could have swallowed this whole land. It had always fascinated her when she had the chance to see it, though she had yet to take in the sight at night. Keres wondered if it would look as deep and dark as she thought it would. Another scent, wolf this time, and the silver Ostrega angled her path once more, moving in search of whoever else was out here. She'd rather know, than not know, never having been one to like surprises. The woman came across him soon enough, laying in the moonlight and looking off into the distance. Pretty, isn't it?Keres asked in lieu of a more formal greeting. Out here, in lands unclaimed, there were no rules to be observed, no manners to be upheld. They were just two strangers, plain and simple. |
