Back in his old pack, you could literally smell the border markers from the other side of the world but his expression remained the same usual impassive, serious look. Should he start again in this pack? Perhaps it would be good to settle down again but he wondered if it would be a good idea before shrugging. What did it matter now anyways? He was free to go whenever he chose to, the first pack he had truly loved and sworn loyalty to was gone, its members either scrambled all across the world or formed a new pack and the tywysog knew that he wouldn't be able to find them. They might be on the other side of the world for all he knew. The jet black male rose to his full height, shook his thick fur, tilted his muzzle into the air and howled. A loud clear sound that traveled for miles, surely alerting the blaenwraig of the pack. Perhaps once they arrived, he would be able to determine whether or not he would join. He had learnt that many of the pack's attitudes and behaviors mirrored those of the Alphas. If an Alpha was a useless pile of shit then the pack would also be a useless pile of shit but if the Alpha was an intelligent resourceful leader then the pack would be a strong and mighty one. The warrior prince sank down onto his haunches and wrapped his dark tail elegantly around his jet black paws, head tilted to stare and analyze whoever who decided to come. RE: the water shall welcome his child - Scimitar - September 02, 2014 A stranger summoned the leaders to the border -- of course, his creamy paws were quick to respond to the source, and while he would have wished to believe it was simply because another was upon their entrance and could be considered a threat if not attended to.. but the true reason was that it was also likely Bazi would be there as well. He moved forward, a behemoth in his own right, and as his paws thrummed the ground sof the borders he had come to know so well, his thoughts were elsewhere only until the swarthy figure of the ebony cloaked stranger came to view. The wolf was male -- strong in appearance, and already a threat in Scimitar's mind when it came to Bazi's affections.. if only because he had royally screwed up his own chances. While the other sat in patience, his stride quickened, his figure lifting to reveal rank as his eyes outright fixated upon the caller. "State your name and business," he offered, his own gaze scrutinizing the wolf as he wasted no time in getting down to business. If the other was looking for pleasantries, he wasn't about to find them here. It was not long before a wolf of the pack approached him and the first thing that came into the warrior prince's mind was hot. That wolf was handsome, muscles rippling beneath his beautiful agouti coat. His old pack knew that he liked both genders and they didn't mind but here, in this new place, things might be different and he was careful not to ruin his chances of getting into this pack. Besides if he had to pretend he was straight it would be alright, after all he liked both genders, it shouldn't really be a massive problem, unless that is, he fell for a male. Midnight blue eyes caught the way he lifted himself up, probably to show that he was one of the higher ranking members. The welsh prince didn't really care whether he was a lower rank or a higher rank. It wouldn't actually matter unless he was accepted into the pack. "State your name and business," said the gorgeous agouti male in front of him. The warrior prince had noticed how the other was examining him closely and resisted the urge to grab him by the scruff and ask him what was he doing but this wasn't his old sea pack anymore, he was no longer the warrior prince, he was just a loner. "Of course" he replied in his calm, quiet voice. Making sure not to meet the other wolf's eyes, he remained sitting down with his tail curled around his paws-he did not feel like he needed to submit just yet- and spoke again. “Yr wyf yn Cadfael Ddraig Galonmôr ac yr wyf yn dymuno ymuno eich pecyn." he spoke in Welsh, forgetting that English was the common language here. After a few minutes he realized his mistake, "I apologize, I forgot that English is the common language here. I am Cadfael Ddraig Galonmôr. Ddraig is my nickname, it means dragon in English." he flashed a quick look at the other male before looking at the spot beside him again. "I wish to join this pack," he spoke simply and waited. RE: the water shall welcome his child - Scimitar - September 03, 2014 Had Scimitar known the amount of male attention he was receiving in terms of attraction these days, it likely would have silenced him even more to a state of almost uncomfortable acceptance. Perhaps then he could have had more insight to Bazi’s so called ‘plight’ with Danica – though whether or not he would be so up in arms over the matter would remain a mystery for now.. much like his oblivion for such things. As blue eyes swept over him, the agouti male did not relax – the other spoke in a language he did not understand, and Scimitar felt his pelt bristle slightly. The mistake was realized – but it had already placed the Beta on edge. After all, he had asked the question in English, and the other had begun to respond in English. Perhaps, had it been under any circumstances other than trying to make a first impression, the Beta would have been more impressed. Now, however, he wasn’t.. especially when the other made the request to join a pack without even a hint of submission to a wolf who indeed lived here. Swiftcurrent Creek had enough ‘problem members’ in the past.. he wasn’t about to let another one slip through the cracks if he could help it. “Do you prefer Cadfael, or Ddraig?” he questioned first – his attempt at remaining friendly as his judgment continued. The names were strange upon his tongue, and they were not spoken with the same fluidity and grace the other had just used. “And for the usual spiel, why should Swiftcurrent Creek welcome you in to its home? What are your strengths?” There was a pause as his eyes gleamed, calculating over the darker male. “And what are your weaknesses?” RE: the water shall welcome his child - Cadfael - September 03, 2014 <style type="text/css"> r1 {color:#800000; font-size: 10px;} .r1box {background-color: #000000 ; width: 500px; margin: auto; background-image: url('http://i.imgur.com/RbbSNXC.jpg'); background-repeat: no-repeat; outline: 10px solid #000066 ;} .r1text {margin: auto; width: 370px; color:#0066cc ; text-indent: 15px; font-family: rokkit; line-height: 15px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 15px; padding-right: 15px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-top: 350px; margin-bottom: 30px;}</style> The warrior prince's thoughts drifted off to the roman he had met on his journey here and suppressed a smile at the memories. They had fought each other, argued over and over again but in the end they became closer than brothers. But in a way they were totally different, if he was in a situation like the dragon was in right now, he would have replied with a sarcastic comment and a smirk but the dark prince was totally different. While he was cautious, the roman was brave. While he was serious, the other always seemed to be able to pull off a smirk and a sarcastic comment. And if he was in his place now, he would never have submitted but the dragon prince knew that to get accepted, he should probably show respect to the other higher ranking pack wolf. Slowly he lowered his head in submission, crouched down, his tail lowered and ears flattened. “Do you prefer Cadfael, or Ddraig?” The dark prince almost laughed aloud when he said the words. Even the roman spoke it better than the male in front of him did but his expression did not change as he replied in his soft, quiet voice. "Wolves usually only call me Cadfael on formal occasions," his ears twitched. "Ddraig will do when its not a formal occasion.". “And for the usual spiel, why should Swiftcurrent Creek welcome you in to its home? What are your strengths?” He was about to answer when the agouti male added “And what are your weaknesses?” He must have thought the warrior prince stupid if he thought he would tell him his weaknesses. Perhaps he should leave now, after all what kind of wolf would ask for his weaknesses but perhaps it was a matter of trust. Pack mates did have to trust each other after all. "I am an excellent fighter and tactician, a good explorer and diplomat and an aspiring healer. I am responsible and will be loyal to Swiftcurrent Creek." he said. "As for my weaknesses, I can be a bit too cautious at times and think too much before acting. I guess I keep placing myself in danger to protect those I care about, I suppose its both a strength and a weakness." he said in his lightly accented tongue. RE: the water shall welcome his child - Scimitar - September 03, 2014 “We could use warriors, outriders and hunters, Cadfael,” he enunciated,. As if to clarify that this was indeed a formal occasion. The other had finally offered submission after making his request, which in turn, caused the large agouti wolf to relax his stance. He was content with the reasons the other had given him – and even more so with the weaknesses. Scimitar was searching for honesty, and while he doubted this was the biggest weakness the male before him held.. it was certainly testament to state such a thing when discussing his potential for joining a pack and to a stranger. “Even more importantly, we could use a healer. Our previous one recently departed.” There was a small pause as his eyes drifted to the horizon, falling uneasily to the Sunspire. “I am Scimitar – the pack Beta. Bazi is your Alpha. Welcome to the Creek.” With that, the male prowled forward, closing the distance between the two, and without hesitance, nudged the others cheek in a friendly gesture that also placed his scent upon the swarthy male – if he was to be pack, he would need to smell like them as well. “And stay clear of members from The Sunspire pack. We have an uneasy truce.” RE: the water shall welcome his child - Cadfael - September 03, 2014 <style type="text/css"> r1 {color:#800000; font-size: 10px;} .r1box {background-color: #000000 ; width: 500px; margin: auto; background-image: url('http://i.imgur.com/RbbSNXC.jpg'); background-repeat: no-repeat; outline: 10px solid #000066 ;} .r1text {margin: auto; width: 370px; color:#0066cc ; text-indent: 15px; font-family: rokkit; line-height: 15px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 15px; padding-right: 15px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-top: 350px; margin-bottom: 30px;}</style>
“We could use warriors, outriders and hunters, Cadfael,” The male in front of him reminded him briefly of the roman who would have made a statement like that but he sensed that they were mostly different. “Even more importantly, we could use a healer. Our previous one recently departed.” These packs here were weird, back in his old pack everyone knew how to heal because everyone knew how to fight. If they were stranded, they could heal themselves and fight at the same time but apparently things here were different. The dragon prince raised his dark head to follow the gorgeous's agouti male's gaze towards the distance mountains. “I am Scimitar – the pack Beta. Bazi is your Alpha. Welcome to the Creek.” His gaze was unreadable as Scimitar trotted forward and nudged him gently on the cheek. He inhaled the Beta's scent before reluctantly withdrawing. “And stay clear of members from The Sunspire pack. We have an uneasy truce.” "Yes, of course." he murmured softly as his midnight blue gaze briefly scanned over the Beta's attractive body and crouching down slightly to lick the underside of Scimitar's chin in submission. RE: the water shall welcome his child - Scimitar - September 05, 2014 It would seem Scimitar had broken through some form of an exterior of the other male when his chin was licked – from the shadowy male’s original unwillingness to truly submit, it seemed, he had come around and offered more. Perhaps, the beta mused, he would actually earn the respect that would go along with it. His rank at times felt foreign to him – but it likely stemmed from the simple fact that Swiftcurrent Creek was made up of many new faces now. The perfect opportunity for a fresh start for the pack. Nudging his newfound companion to the cheek, Scimitar’s tail swept through the air leisurely as he shifted away from the ebony male, casting a glance to him as he trailed further from the borders now and closer to Swiftcurrent Creek lands. “Did you want a tour, or do you want to explore things yourself?” He was not much of a tour guide so to speak, but somehow it felt incomplete to simply send the male on his way to flounce through pack lands he only just set paw on. RE: the water shall welcome his child - Cadfael - September 05, 2014 <style type="text/css"> r1 {color:#800000; font-size: 10px;} .r1box {background-color: #000000 ; width: 500px; margin: auto; background-image: url('http://i.imgur.com/RbbSNXC.jpg'); background-repeat: no-repeat; outline: 10px solid #000066 ;} .r1text {margin: auto; width: 370px; color:#0066cc ; text-indent: 15px; font-family: rokkit; line-height: 15px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 15px; padding-right: 15px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-top: 350px; margin-bottom: 30px;}</style>
“Did you want a tour, or do you want to explore things yourself?” Scimitar's words shook the ebony prince out of his thoughts. "A tour would be nice, if you have the time." he replied in his lightly accented voice. He would've rather spoke welsh but it seems that nobody here spoke the language. He was adapting rather well but still, couldn't there be at least one wolf that spoke his native tongue? His blue gaze scanned briefly over the Beta's gorgeous body before quickly moving to gaze at his surroundings. He wondered if the Beta himself was going to take him on the tour, if that was what was going to happen. His crappy day just turned into one of the best days of his life. RE: the water shall welcome his child - Scimitar - September 23, 2014 The other decided he would rather a tour – it seemed like such a small decision, and yet it showed to the Beta that at least, the swarthy male was looking to gain some form of familiarity with his new home. Perhaps the Creek had finally found a more solid member. They were on the right track to mending what had just battered them, and while Scimitar would have loved nothing more than to move the pack further from the Sunspire, he knew Bazi would never want to leave. Her words had been fleeting, and spoken in the heat of emotion. With a nod in a direction, the male sauntered towards the heart of the terrain then, moving in silence. His eyes settled across the horizon, taking in the beauty of his home – so tainted by recent happenings and the presence of the Sunspire that loomed like a dark shadow beyond them. While he was silent for moments, his eyes drifted back to the newcomer, his weariness hidden behind a carefully trained stoical mask – his mother had taught him well, and his heritage was known for their ability to now show emotion – the DeMonte’s had reigned supreme in many areas, though Scimitar had never bothered to seek them out. They were blood, but that did not make them family. As they came to the creek edge, his eyes fell upon the bear formation – the gravesite was growing over with moss now, and for a moment, the agouti Beta debated removing some of the greenery from its site. After all, with Njal gone, who would maintain it? But the more important question was.. why would he care? He gave a small nod in the direction of the site, his tail giving a content sweep through the air. “They call this Lethe’s Rest. Apparently, she was the founder of this pack.” RE: the water shall welcome his child - Cadfael - October 06, 2014 The dark warrior followed Scimitar into Swiftcurrent Creek territory, which would soon become his new home. Depending on what happened, either temporary and permanently. A small part of him wished for this massive change in his life, this beginning of his new chapter to be longer than all the others but deep inside, he sincerely doubted that would happen. For no matter where he went, the nagging of his home welsh pack dug into him and seemed to tear the bloody flesh of his beating heart out of his dark chest. However none of his internal turmoil showed through his stoic, impassive features. Midnight blue gaze scanned the territory, memorizing the place he would probably be living for a while until he decided to stay or move on. “They call this Lethe’s Rest. Apparently, she was the founder of this pack.” He had a million questions to ask Scimitar but kept it to himself, knowing it would be both rude and disrespectful. Instead he merely nodded his understanding and placed that as a landmark in his mind. RE: the water shall welcome his child - Scimitar - October 27, 2014 His eyes studied over the gravesite – thoughtful in its own way, and yet it felt strange to be standing here. He had not known the deceased, and while she now held a landmark for the pack, he wondered how meaningful it would remain for the years to come. Would the future members of the pack pay the founder homage? Or would she be forgotten? He personally paid his own respects to Bazi – and Fox, during the time of her reign. They had been the ones to take him in, and it was the ivory female that had made the Creek home to him. Casting his eyes back on the newcomer, he gave a nod forward, indicating the tour would continue. And so it would – he would take the ebony male to the Women’s Glade next, and throughout the territory to a few caches. From there, he at least could part ways with the male with the knowledge that he had rolled out the welcome mat to the best of his ability. |
