hostage of the pearl - Teague - September 17, 2020

there’s a certain level of disorientation at being so far inland, away from the sea. she carries the salty tang of sea, of algae and decaying seaweed upon her pelage though; thus it is always apart of her. that endless drive to explore is her driving force; pushing her into what is unknown to her. it is what drove her from the cove. it is what drives her further and further still. the desire to break away from that which has become horribly monotonous. like a sailor who was born on a ship and most felt at home on one, the adjustment to land and more land surrounding her and stretching on vastly, far as the weathered horizon, leaves her a bit uncertain.

still, teague doesn’t let the unknown slow her down.

it is this that drives her to the borders of the pack; twin packs she would wrongfully assume.

the scents are many and teague is sure to leave a respectful distance between her and the border markings. from there, her muzzle tips and her voice rises in the announcement of her presence and belays a vague interest of joining — vague if only because she knows nothing of these wolves. her compass draws her here but whether she remains either by her own decree, or the decree of this pack's leaders, is yet to be seen.

RE: hostage of the pearl - Solomon Bishop - September 17, 2020

True the male is not a leader, but he will protect the borders — and those within — from any outsiders. They will likely catch the solid crunch of his teeth to their skull. Especially if it’s another wolf.

As his hulking mass trots to the borders due to the unmistakable howling of a stranger, he is the first on the scene. His gaze meets a coffee pelted female and he’s squinting white-blue crystal like eyes.

His deep voice sounding out to the wolf as he looks upon her. He is the guardian of these walls. “Who’re you, wolf?” He asks, shaking off his pelt, flinging drool everywhere. The loose skin jiggling in every which way as well as the light jingle of his collar.

RE: hostage of the pearl - Toad - September 17, 2020

toad is learning to be a guardian. the ranks of ursus were constantly shifting, but these days he found himself towards the top- ironfang- perhaps because he hadn't let his head trauma slow him down. even in the week after the fight with easthollow he'd been eager to return to his duties, and thus he would patrol again now; the meadow and the entrance and all the land that was theirs.

the howl was a bit out of the ordinary. most creatures that showed at their border came without proper announcement and yet were quickly chased away, but here was a joiner in the midst of it all. toad moved towards the sound, finding there a warm woman with his own eyes in her face, body riddled with scars. he glanced to the newer ursus canine beside him- dog, he thought, and was instantly reminded of merrick's first slave, sacrificing his blood for the ursus young. a couple of sniffs in his direction, and then he looked back over to the woman, eyes tracing her in an animal sort of way before deeming her too scarred for his tastes, but perfect for the likes of ursus.

still- it was her job to speak up, rather than wait to be interviewed, if she was smart enough to know how things were run. toad's tail flagged upwards and he stared quietly, awaiting her introduction.

RE: hostage of the pearl - Evien - September 17, 2020

It's his first trip to the border to meet a potential joiner as Bruin-leaf. Evien was a bit behind Toad and another - a wolfdog he'd never met in person, but carried the scent of Ursus.

The healer approached the triad, green gaze flicking over to the woman who had called for them. She looked strong, scarred and powerful. Ursus needed more scrappy wolves in their midst - sometimes Evien thought he was inadequate for his general abhorrence of fighting.

"Welcome to Ursus. My name's Evien," he greeted her, padding past Toad and just slightly bumping their shoulders together. He wouldn't touch the wolfdog for now - he didn't know him that well - but physical touch was grounding and connective and Evien applied it wherever he could. "I'm betting there's a reason you called for us, right?" Whether a challenge or a request to join, Evien didn't know. They'd probably be ready for either.
