Being held down by gravity - Kynareth Deagon - September 23, 2020

Setting: Morning — 07:13
Weather: 63F — clear skies, misty.
Location: Territory #9 - Redsand Canyon.  In the middle of the stream that lead to Warrior’s Heart from Dead Dragon Lake.
Tags: @Derg

Being forward dated to the 28th!

Donovan has finally made it back to his beloved canyon of red the previous night. This morning, he desires the attention of his alpha counterpart. The oh so sweet, yet daring Derg.

He’s just waking up, padding out of his den and towards the stream that snakes down from Dead Dragon’s lake. Bowing his upper body to lap from the crystal clear water. A black tongue runs along his chin and whiskers when he comes up. He wastes no time tilting his head up and calling out for the male to join him in his company.

RE: Being held down by gravity - Derg - September 23, 2020

Derg had held the fort down while Kynareth had been away.
Nyra had been placid.
Dove...herself. The others normal. As far as he could tell.
No attacks came, no one passed.

The call rang out for him just as he was making his way over to his patrol route, starting from healers pass, from the lake.
He stopped, thinking. Should he bother? Yeah, probably.
Derg trotted over towards the source, tail swishing.

What this time, eh?

RE: Being held down by gravity - Kynareth Deagon - September 23, 2020

Kynareth watches the male approach, a smile splitting his maw in two. “Derg.” He hums pleasantly, as he tip toes closer to the male. A quick, soft butt of his head to the plume of Derg’s neck and he’s pulling back to gaze at him. “I need to loosen up after that meeting. How about I share the details after a good spar?” He asks a convincing upwards quirk of his brows.

RE: Being held down by gravity - Derg - September 26, 2020

Kynareth always seemed to be entralled when he came into his presence.
He always offered him a grin with a soft hum of pleasue.
But why?

He donned a placid expression tinted with soft bemeausement.
He leaned into the feline head-bump. He wondred how that cat was doing.
Anyway,  his head canted to the male with a questinable expression now. How was the meeting? "I have some infirmation of my own to share."
Would the man be surprised? Perhaps. He'll see.

Derg paced around the brindle behemouth, spreading some distrance between them before launching an attack. And he launched himself as quick as a viper, driving stright for the foreleg and yanking it hard, hopefully not giving the man enough time to prepare.

RE: Being held down by gravity - Kynareth Deagon - September 26, 2020

Donovan quirks his massive head, tilting to the side in curiosity. “Oh I’d love to hear it.” He hums, referencing the mysterious information his companion speaks of.

Though that’s all he’s able to get out before Derg is wailing on him. The bite and drag of his paw has him stumbling forward. A wicked smirk curling his maw at the corners. This is fun, he hasn’t spared with Derg in some time. Yet, he still has to take this moderately serious, so he’s correcting himself by snapping out at Derg’s shoulder. It’s a weak snap due to his previous tumble, but at least it’s something.

RE: Being held down by gravity - Derg - September 27, 2020

Donovan stumbled forwards, just as he wanted.
Jaws flew for his shoulder, mostly grazing really. No holding on and flipping him to the floor.
So Derg was moving still, not wanting to give the man a second chance and drove for his rear leg this time, looking to unbalance him further.

If he could, then he should probably try and flip the man over. But did he have the strength for that?
The thoughts were fleeting in the moment, only tlasting the duration of Derg's attack.
What woud Donovan try now?

RE: Being held down by gravity - Kynareth Deagon - September 27, 2020

The Overseer is quick on his feet. Donovan is weary from his travels. Or at least that’s the excuse he’s going to give himself today. For he lurches forward to snatch up Derg’s neck and it doesn’t go as planned. He misses, sliding just past him. Open for another attack.

RE: Being held down by gravity - Derg - September 29, 2020

The man lurches for him.
And fell short, his balance compromised and him being quicker gave a strong advantage.

He thrust his shoulders under the man, pushing forward and up to tip him over.
It hadn't worked before, but this time it did.
He supposed the trouble was his opponents being too steady on their feet, but now he had Kynareth weakened he was easier prey.

RE: Being held down by gravity - Kynareth Deagon - September 30, 2020

The male swoops beneath him, rushing him upwards and straight to the ground like a violent wave. He’s grunting on impact and sucks in a much needed breath from getting it knocked out of him. He’s rolling, not even getting on his feet yet, to snatch up Derg’s arm in the grasps of his teeth. Getting up to his feet quickly while he bites down onto the appendage.

RE: Being held down by gravity - Derg - October 01, 2020

His leg is snatched up in the tumble, yanking him forward.
Shit, this wasn't good. Derg was too tiny to have much defence against brute force.
His jaws swung wide, hoping to grasp onto his scruff to earn him some leverage.
But Kynareth had other ideas.

Derg was hauled into the air, his back paws still on the ground as he struggled to pull away from his counterpart.
Well, he was in trouble now.
He stood still, wondering how he'd counter the next move, if he could at all.

RE: Being held down by gravity - Kynareth Deagon - October 01, 2020

Donovan watches as the other struggles to free himself from his grasp. The jerking motion almost causes him to clamp down hard on the flesh between his jaws, yet he doesn’t. Controlling his strength he allows the other freedom, opening them enough to let the other slip out.

He even steps back, a smile on his maw and a huff of breath. The top of a black tongue lulling from his mouth as he looks to the other wolf. “Not bad, darling. I haven’t had a good spar with you in some time. I would almost say I missed you.” He hums with his usual smirk. Yet an easy softness in his eyes shows through.

RE: Being held down by gravity - Derg - October 03, 2020

Derg flopped down into the sand, panting.
He didn't like the fact his winter coat was already coming through.
The basin was still pretty toasty. The winds would be an issue for the winter though.

Derg frowned for a moment -- more like a micro-reaction. Almost missed him, but didn't.
Whatever.

He looked away for a moment before looking back to Donovan.
"What's your news then, big boy?" He let a teasing smirk etch his face, hoping to chase away any doubts Kynareth had if he saw the facial movement.

RE: Being held down by gravity - Kynareth Deagon - October 03, 2020

Staying mega vague about the meeting with Legion.

Donovan almost tilts his head and furrows his brows when he looks away from him. Did he say something wrong? Did Derg not like something. He has no idea. His one brain cell isn’t the best on picking up on exactly what’s wrong but in no time, it seems the other is back to normal. He won’t say much about it but he makes a mental note.

Continuing con though, he can’t help but chuckle at the nickname. “Not too much. It went alright. Perhaps another meeting is in order though. As for Ursus, that’s a whole other story. All we have to do is be prepared for them when they come and run to the catacombs like we’ve planed.” Comes his casual reply. Golden eyes taking in Derg’s appearance hungrily.

RE: Being held down by gravity - Derg - October 03, 2020

The overseer nodded.
Yeah, Ursus was a whole shit show that he'd rather not be a part of.
He'd escaped that once, and here he was again.

He sighed, looking over the barren lands they called home.
Life was flourishing after the well-timed storm though. But how long will it last?
"We need a better plan." A better plan to be concocted in another thread.

"I've been hunting that bitch Praimfaya." He wasn't going to hide his feelings towards the deceitful little witch.
"It's funny how a self-proclaimed warlord -- who left her pack to join one that's more suited to her -- runs away at the hint of danger, no?"
He tilted his gaze to Kynareth. Surely he must have thought the same shit.

RE: Being held down by gravity - Kynareth Deagon - October 03, 2020

1000th post! (☝︎ ՞ਊ ՞)☝︎

Kynareth’s gaze is unwavering as he listens to him speak. He nods slightly at his beginning sentence. They do in fact need a better plan. Though when the Overseer gets started on the subject of Praimfaya he too furrows his brows at the name. The agouti male points out things that Donovan can’t help but agree with. She was a snake since the beginning it seems. He knew he was testing her for a reason.

“I agree to both. We make a new plan, find and kill Praimfaya. Then continue on. Sounds perfect.” He hums with the slightest bit of humor to it. “First we must find her. Any idea on where she’s gone?”

RE: Being held down by gravity - Derg - October 03, 2020

\(‾▿‾\) (/‾▿‾)/

Derg chuckled softly.
That was his plan all the long.
He also bet that she has some sort of play in the business with Ursus, but that is unlikely to be proven unless eh gets his hands on Renard, the sly [British curse word that some American's hate].
He'd have his head too.

"They've cleared out of where they were, in the peaks that way," his muzzle tilted in the opposite direction of most of their enemies.
"They knew we'd find out, but I'll find them, and we'll kill them too."
His eyes shone as he spoke, another chuckle -- more sadistic one may note -- this time.
Oh the blood he could bathe in.

RE: Being held down by gravity - Kynareth Deagon - October 05, 2020

Donovan dares to smile as he hear the sweet song of Derg’s laugh. It’s an eerie one, one that promises death. Something the brindle male craves.

So he supplies the other with his own laugh. “Oh but it’ll never truly be that easy. Will it?” Comes his own snake like reply.

RE: Being held down by gravity - Derg - October 05, 2020

Kynareth, for once, came with a more logical approach.
Though Derg didn't miss the matching smirk he gave.
His duller eyes alighted on Kynareth's brighter ones.

"No, but once we start it will get easier."
The fewer people they had to stand in their way, the better.
Derg stood, shaking the soft sand from his pelt.
He moved to the water, sipping from it to clean his dry mouth.

He'd said 'we' when it seemed Derg was currently acting alone.
He grunted softly to himself.

RE: Being held down by gravity - Kynareth Deagon - October 06, 2020

Donovan nods his head to the other male once before he slips off to drink from the nearby stream. Easily agreeing with him. He watches him intently, golden orbs skittering about the agouti of his pelt.

“It’s settled then. We will gather information, then plan. For now, we need to watch our borders.” He suggests, beginning to pad off. “I will speak with the other members, see what they know. I’d say you ask them too so we can compare.”

RE: Being held down by gravity - Derg - October 10, 2020

Derg nodded, looking to Kynareth studying him.
He wondered what he was thinking...because Derg knew what he was...
'Donovan Azura'
He felt every touch in the second of remembering the name he'd called out that evening.

"We will. I'll rally them into doing more patrols."
He did the eastern-most side of the canyon nearly every day.
Nyra he'd expect only short patrols, Valour too. Dove Leigh and Aries would have to pick up the slack.
Fuck, their numbers were too small for this.

"Good idea," he called to his counterpart. See which leader the favoured...
And where whose loyalties lie.

RE: Being held down by gravity - Kynareth Deagon - October 10, 2020

With a simple nod to his Overseer, Donovan agrees. “Things will fall into place sooner or later.” He hums with a borderline malicious smirk and a playful wink.

Then he’s trotting off into the distance. Surely they’ll speak again soon. He can’t help but enjoy the the other alphas company.
