The Other Side Of Paradise - Calhoun - September 29, 2020

@Célnes we made it boys

Since the encounter with the blonde bore, Calhoun had put his efforts into something more important. The fleeing apostle. The scent was easy to trace, he had caught on early and spent the past few days trailing after the devined. Every now and then he was forced to wait as the elk grazed or drank before moving on. Oh, how he wished to speed up the process, but he needed the creature to be at ease. Not just for his own sake, but to appease his God.

At last, his efforts would pay off. Niamh was correct about one thing, this one had wandered from it's herd, for it's final destination seemed to be a vast forest tucked into a scared space far from the reaches of those scorned and disgraced. For a moment Calhoun's breath caught in his chest at the sight. Ahead was large gathering of bodies, tall and powerful with antlers stretching the mass of bodies. They were here. Their God was here! Just as their beliefs told, the land seemed plentiful with growth, food, and water to survive on. Different from their original home, but in some ways all the same.

This was the new Kingslend. Their new home.

RE: The Other Side Of Paradise - Célnes - September 29, 2020

She could feel her energy drained and a storm above her head. The incident with the Firebirds were still in thought- and what could've been changed. She tried to ignore it most of the time- but being a King, the ambassador of the pack, she knew good relations were quite important. However Cenric in particular was doing so amongst other packs, and while the siblings in particular never talked about it, there was no protest to each others actions.

They were peacefully co-existing. She was glad he was a King alongside her so, and whole not admitting it, she felt it would be more trouble to harbor the families spite by herself. Especially since the Déorwine was doing the unspeakable of letting the less holy of them enter the brigade of Kingslend.

Her focus was moving away from Hideaway Strath. Scouting was one of her pleasures in life, but as well as an anchor of memories.

"Calhoun," She saw her cousin, and Célnes slithered to his side and looked upon the view. Fire-lit eyes opened wide at what was scene, and it was obvious to not only him, but her as well.

"Praise be the High Elk."

In his short daze, Calhoun almost failed to acknowledge his cousin's approach, but his name pulled his feet back to the Earth. I tracked the apostle, Cousin— He breathes life in these woods! His words were spoken in a hushed whisper, not wanting to alert the herd to their presence. There was still much he wanted to check amongst the herd, but he would have all the time in the world now. Look there,

The hunter motioned to some smaller bodies closer to the center of the herd, peacefully grazing amongst the adults with budding horns, The herd is healthy. They bear young. Further proof that this was meant to be home. The High Elk was already birthing new life in preparation for their family, even if they did not outwardly hunt Elk. Their lives were intertwined with the Deorwine and therefore a prophecy for their own.

"He has blessed this land- and in the same, blessed us." Despite the tense situation between the two, Célnes could only praise her cousin for finding the High Elk. Odessa was the first to see the signs, but she was an elder, a Bull, and could not carry the pack anymore. However, he was the one to officially find him so.

"We have found home-" she held her breath for a moment, "you have found home."

For a moment, the hunter is silent as his gaze finally parts to Célnes as she gives him the recognition he rightfully deserved. Perhaps in another moment, he would swell with pride as he proved himself once more to the pack, but for now, he was overcome by their God's presence. All I have done is follow his whim. His will is my way. Maybe it would come as a surprise that he denied his part as if any could track down the herd, and perhaps in his mind, anyone could.

Though to some extent, this was exactly the kind of behavior to expect from the elken man. Calhoun has always insisted on proving himself, though in his accomplishments he would find peace as opposed to hot air. You should call the family. I can keep watch in case they choose to migrate, though based on the tracks I think it's safe to say this is their main stomping ground.

"For this- you shall be a Baron." It could not be denied the achievement he has been given. While the trades hold to their ranks, there was some shuffling she has done as so. Minor discussion with @Cenric, and ideas are to be formed. Once upon mastery of what they excel at, they achieve the Stag rank, high amongst them, not holding an official power-title, but honored nontheless. On the same level, Célnes had greated one who has gained achievements; a baron.

Calhoun was the first to find so, not the first to see the signs.. But he found their home. Odessa was now to be a bull, while already a baron fills their ranks, "I shall go back and call for them." With haste, did she retreat.

Baron? The hunter raised a brow towards his cousin. He had been one of the Ivories for so long, never before had he heard of a Baron amongst their ranks. Without any further description, Célnes turned to leave and call the others. For a moment he was surprised. Had he just been promoted??? Célnes— What entails that of a Baron? He wasn't the only one to pick up on the High Elk's trail, sure he had pursued it to the farthest reaches, but it was just his job to his family. Days ago they had been at each other's throats, why promote him now when he had so clearly voiced his opinions against the new Kings?

RE: The Other Side Of Paradise - Célnes - October 07, 2020

She stopped her path and looked back the devoutee of the High Elk, "while majority are the same- we have made some changes. There is two in particular, on being the Shepherd, which is the second-command to the kind." In the previous home, the King was absolute. The Queen was just a simple side-piece, a mate to the King, but the title of the crown held firm.

What they said, was absolute. It wasn't something she particular agreed on, especially since there was only one in command. However now, it was herself, and her brother ruling as so, "then there is the Stag we all know about. Masteries- but what about those who gained achievements not recognized? Those are, the barons."

RE: The Other Side Of Paradise - Calhoun - October 07, 2020

Calhoun fell silent as his kin explained. A second in command, he supposed it made sense though with two Kings what need was there for a Shepherd? Then the Baron, his new title. An honored individual, one with great achievements. It seemed fitting for him, and while he was pleased to know he would be recognized for his efforts there was still the underlying question of why. Perhaps it was an unsaid bribe to regain his loyalty, though of course his loyalty was bound to their God. Nevertheless, her plan would work for now. He could stay quiet given his efforts were praised. Calhoun offered a mere grunt as he eyed the herd once more. Very well. You best get the others.

He was satisfied as so, a slight cover to the fire that lit in their hearts. She wondered how they will deal with changes that slowly, she wanted to implement. There was nothing to mind, but definitely to warp it to a vision- alongside with her brother. Célnes nodded to him so, a smile akin to a cat, "keep an eye on them, cousin."

"Wouldn't want to disappoint your new title." With so, she was quick haste to raise her head and call to her family, her new packmates, and any that could hear their hollar. They had the home, to be found.
