so get on your feet when you hear that sound - Renard - October 14, 2020 @Hide
6pm, partly cloudy, 49F it had taken weeks of combing redsand canyon up and down before renard had felt they actually knew it as well as they should. and here, particularly when nobody trusted them, it was essential they learned as much about yuèlóng as they could – and how to outmaneuver them, if it became necessary. this seemed as good a way as any to start. and mostly it was all rock and sea and salt. no better defense than water stretching for miles. the saints had their canyon, all its steep sides and sun-scorched plains and cactus fields – not that they thought donovan would have bothered thinking tactics for his choice of home. the cover this place offered wasn't any better. renard wasn't fond of open spaces. too few shadows. too much open ground where they could be seen. the coast had, at least, a few good spikes of rock, and it was the shadow of those renard stuck to as they scouted, nostrils flaring to pick anything up beyond the smells of salt and sea. new challenges. those had sounded so much more interesting when they'd first left the court. now they were becoming unfortunately routine. and renard was not fond of routine. RE: so get on your feet when you hear that sound - Fānglong - November 01, 2020 She was the opposite, feeling most at peace in the open. It was like everything was discovered there, would be hard to hide another within such a view, and she was simply in love with the opening that the sea was to give. When she did a casual stroll, Fanglong had spot an usual figure. She could not help, but stare at what his tail was.

the crunch of sand here wasn't quite the same as it had been in the canyon. but it was more than enough to draw their attention; renard didn't pause, but they swiveled their head to follow it, expressionless but for the feline curl of their lips as they looked over the mottled black and grey of her fur.
wasn't familiar. not that that knowledge meant anything. praimfaya wouldn't have come here if they didn't have something that'd help against the saints, and it wasn't fighting prowess. didn't seem like they were spies, either. they guessed it was numbers, that there would be plenty of wolves here they hadn't seen. but then, maybe they were just the only ones praimfaya could trust to trust her. and it wasn't out of the question this wolf – the one now staring intently at their tail – was one of the many yuèlóng wolves who'd run into donovan. it seemed like that was a feature that belonged only to saints. that they could've passed for his sibling had they wanted – it warranted a little caution. just enough that they kept their eyes trained on her, ears forward. their back to the shore, the water lapping against their hind legs. "got a question?" renard asked, grin pulling up at the corners. |
