Wherein the moralist design'd - Piety - October 20, 2020 Weeks had gone by since Piety had met a frantic, goldenrod mother on the hunt for her missing daughter. He had promised to remain alert for the girl, but since he had come across no such child of Alyx’s description, he now thought it was high time to check in on the status of her search; Was it ongoing? Had any clues been found? Or had their search ended? And though his methods would make him appear selfless, or suffering from nothing more than innate curiosity, the mountain wolf knew exactly what he stood to gain in favor by doing so. She was a self-proclaimed leader of the Firebirds, after all, which he thought might be a relationship worth fostering, if there was one to be had. Not that he expected social acceptance right away, Piety just had very little doubts, and he knew that his willingness to perform due diligence had its intangible merits. The longshadow arrived at the copse’s doorstep with a confirmatory sniff. It was early still, in the overcast day, but not so much so that it might be considered rude for him to call for an audience. He stood back, loosing a querying howl: @Niamh? It is Piety. Is there news? RE: Wherein the moralist design'd - RIP Niamh - October 24, 2020 Ouuuu this could be fun! How about a howl conversation for a bit :3
Niamh was some distance away when she heard her voice wavering on the air. She did a double-take, snorting in confusion, wondering why this stranger named Piety was calling out and asking her about the news. Did she know a Piety? She didn't remember the name- at least, not immediately. So why, then, would a near-stranger come asking specifically for her, and asking her a super vague question about the news? With so much else on her mind, Niamh had nearly forgotten about the stranger who'd offered to help look for Alyx, and since the girl had been returned to them safe and sound, she'd begun to focus on their more present issues. Thus, while the brief meeting with Piety was logged away in her memory, it was buried beneath a pile of other thoughts. Piety, Piety, Piety. She rolled the name over and over in her brain, and then on her tongue. Nope. No connection made. "What do you mean, 'what news,' and who are you again?" She howled back. She huffed. This would probably mean she'd have to cart herself all the way along the borders to find him, which was a use of valuable energy- but such were the obligations of a leader. And so, content to at least continue on a long-distance conversation with the male while she travelled along, she began to trot off toward the borders, hoping that he was at least patient enough to wait there- and that she might remember who he was by the time she reached him. |
