I need to stop thinking about you - RIP Star - November 08, 2020 As usual, Star was working. She was busying herself at one of the caches, digging through the carcasses- not to eat, at present- rather she was sorting the good from the bad, picking out whatever things had begun to spoil and rot. It was always a shame to find food like this, but on the positive side, it meant they had a decent surplus. Star pulled out a spoiled squirrel and set it beside her, sighing as she did so. RE: I need to stop thinking about you - Taikon - November 08, 2020 Yaay!
Taikon had decimated at least one cache on arrival. Wylla had welcomed him to his new mountain home with grace, and right after Takiyok had shown him around, he had busied himself with eating. That week, he had decided to pay it forward by restoring at least one of the food safes. It had been so long since the prince had stopped travelling long distances that he had trouble settling down. He also, apparently, had trouble not eating his catch. He'd grown thin during his time and as a lone wolf. He carried in his jaws a juvenile hare toward a cache close to a rendezvous point. At it was an old, rotten squirrel and a little wolf that looked more like a small, white bear. Taikon dropped the hare and waved his tail. Here's a replacement,he said calmly. RE: I need to stop thinking about you - RIP Star - November 08, 2020 She glanced up as he spoke and gave the stranger a warm smile, detecting the scent of Wylla upon him but unfamiliar with his face. Thank you,She offered, adding the fresh kill to the cache where she had removed the squirrel before. It was not often Sagtannet had new joiners; the matron was intrigued by the young man and turned towards him, temporarily distracted from her work. I'm Star, a hunter. I guess you're new here. She stated in the form of a rhetorical question, expecting he would know to introduce himself. RE: I need to stop thinking about you - Taikon - November 08, 2020 The little wolf was odd. It looked like mud or old blood had been stamped on her forehead by someone. He was tempted to tell her she had something on her face, but decided it best not to when she offered a kind smile and her introduction. Star. She looked mature, not like the young wolves he was used to encountering. She may even have been older than him, though it was hard to tell with the softness of her features.
You got it,he answered casually. I'm Taikon, also a hunter. Takiyok dragged me here,he joked, feigning a light roll of his eyes. In fact she hadn't, of course. She had offered her home to him, showing great trust in him by doing so. To be honest, he felt rather honoured. Need some help?He saw when she put the hare back into the cache that she wasn't hungry at the moment, or at least not enough to take from the cache. Instead, he figured she might be doing a bit of cleaning. RE: I need to stop thinking about you - RIP Star - December 24, 2020 Oh, that's great. Perhaps we could hunt together sometime? She suggested mildly, and continued off of his words, I don't know Takiyok too well, but I've seen her around. It was intriguing, she thought, that he was recruited by a member rather than Mahler or Wylla. But he seemed kind and hardworking enough- even offering his help- and she nodded, with a small smile of appreciation. Sure, thanks. I'm trying to dig out the spoiled meat. There's not much, but...The matron trailed off, and began to nose through the pile again. She pulled out an old pine marten, who appeared only half-eaten, and chuckled as she placed it at her side. I bet one of my kids did that. RE: I need to stop thinking about you - Taikon - January 11, 2021 Taikon nodded at the suggestion. Though he hadn't hunted with others very often, he was always open to such exchanges. Although, the last time he had taken anyone hunting, it had been less than ideal. He recalled how disgusted Celnes had been with his choice of venue. Even though they had caught the muskrats he'd been looking for, she had ended up muddy from the marshy ground. Woman were so particular.
Pfft,he laughed lightly, pawing at the cache. He wasn't sure how many other caches Star had gone through, or even how many were in the territory. But, perhaps she could use the company anyway. You have kids?He asked, though he meant it more as tell me about your kids. |
