sometimes, words aren't required - Holland - December 03, 2020 He had found a den. Fully expecting word to pass through teeth about his acceptance into the Glen, Holland prepared himself accordingly for visitors. Though he'd much rather have patients, the pack seemed to be healthy enough until spring. Who knew what the near or distant future would hold though? A - he was getting used to the word again - pack mate could twist their paw. Develop a cough. Anything. Best be prepared for the worst. Winter brought its share of problems. Keres had told him there was no formal medic in the pack, which meant Holland had to assume there had been no store of herbs. If there had been at least one other healer... well, no use dwelling. He sat outside his new den, wondering where to start first. It was only when someone's pawsteps sounded did he glance up. A girl was before him. He remarked she was a soft brunette with ivory accent. His head slipped, giving a nod. Wondering if she was passing by. RE: sometimes, words aren't required - RIP Astrid - December 03, 2020 She greets the male with a long bow, enchanted by the scarring that decorates his face. Her tail waves, neutral and friendly, head low out of respect for being so near the man's den. A nod from him — how curious! The gesture is a greeting, too, it seems. She mimics his movement, then turns away in a sweeping, elegant spin, tail still waving as she flits a few feet away and drops into another smooth bow. An invitation to play, an experiment in the ways of what appears to be a hardened warrior. She wants to see what kind of man he is, truly. RE: sometimes, words aren't required - Holland - December 03, 2020 If he guessed right, the girl could not speak. Many wolves chose to speak over non-verbal cues, so it made sense to him for her to be mute. Perhaps it was due to this that he dropped his guard a bit. Muteness can be attributed to trauma or injury. He moved from the mouth of his den, a soft huff escaping his mouth. "What do you want to play?" he asks the girl, knowing full well she probably couldn't reply back. But she could in other ways. Gestures like pointing or physical cues like brushing against another wolf... He prepared himself for such things. The invite was clear enough, he supposed. Holland stood, waiting. |
