But feathers are meant for the sky - Fennec - December 06, 2020

tag for reference! Though anyone is welcome <3

Fennec had always been one for moods, but this usually was not one of them.  As time went on and she was essentially bedridden, she began to grow a little despondent.  The pain hadn't faded much in a week, her condition hadn't improved much, and the lack of sleep and stress left her dull.

More than that, she'd come to a quiet decision.  Leta's news had shown her that the pack was bursting with new members, one of them being a new healer.  Maybe at one time there would have been room for two healers... but with so many members, she knew she'd thrown away her chance.  A territory could only support a certain size pack.

No one would miss her.  She belonged here.

She wanted to feel okay about the decision, but instead, all she felt was a yawning hollowness in her chest.  Her plan had never been to abandon the Glen for good.  When she'd felt like she had a place there, it had been one of the best feelings she'd ever felt, but that place had disappeared.  Once again she was forced to come to terms with the sensation of being left behind.  This time as an outcome of her own design.

She'd told her parents already of her intentions to stay, and would tell @Eljay the next time she saw him.  The Caldera wasn't so bad, and after she got better, she could continue her gardens in the Bramblepoint.  In a few days she'd doubtlessly move on, but for now, she allowed herself a little time to privately grieve the loss.
