ain't no spring or fall at all anymore - Natshana - December 09, 2020

Setting: At the mouth of The Quiet.
Time: Midday
Weather: Cloudy, 36F

Natshana stood just outside the cavern she made her den in, trying in vain to soak up even an ounce of sunlight.  Her moonlit gaze was combing through the clouds, silently pleading with them to part.  They offered no such reprieve, of course, and she eventually lowered her eyes.  She loathed the winter.  Long gone were the days where she could find a nice rock to lie upon and sun herself while her herbs dried.  Now she was lucky if she saw the sky at all through the cloud-cover.

She sighed softly and let her eyes wander over the shoreline.  It had been a few weeks since she had joined Yuèlóng, and it was starting to feel like more of a home than a fleeting place of shelter.  Though she missed mainland forests, Wheeling Gule Isle offered her woodlands when she really needed them.  Beach life wasn't horrible in the slightest.  It was a different style of living that she couldn't find much fault with, aside from the constant stink of saltwater and brine.

Her paws shuffled as she rose to stand and stretch.  She couldn't sit and do nothing, sun or no sun.  Perhaps she could collect some driftwood for her den.

RE: ain't no spring or fall at all anymore - Aimi - December 17, 2020

Finding her way about the island was going to take some getting used to, but Aimi was getting the hang of things at her own pace.

There was something particularly ethereal about this place they called Yuèlóng -- the calm, the quiet -- it was similar yet so different from back home, though certainly not in a bad way. Best of all; there was no one here to tell the otter how to act. No one to constantly be up her ass about how tomboyish she was in comparison to a proper girl -- yeah, she could get used to this....

No promises that she wasn't going to eventually start trouble like back at home though....

Her lazy paw steps eventually arrived towards the quiet's opening -- which was yet another place she hadn't come across here. Though it wasn't the cave that Aimi was focused on; it was the overwhelmingly pretty she-wolf that stood at it's entrance.

She was wary of these new wolves, but they were a part of her home now, and so the coastal girl announced her arrival with a chuff before making her way over....

RE: ain't no spring or fall at all anymore - Natshana - December 21, 2020

Being that Natshana had not yet grown accustomed to how wolves sound walking on sand, she was only made aware of Aimi's approach by her verbal greeting.  She lifted her head, curious to see who was making their way toward her, and was pleasantly surprised to find a rather good-looking wolf who appeared to be her age. Intrigue guided her intentions as she regarded the stranger with overt interest.  She was a packmate, and that was the extent of her knowledge of her new-found companion.

"Hello," she spoke warmly while her tail gave a gentle sway behind her. "I do not believe we have met, though I have heard you around the island," Natshana admitted, omitting that she had scented the other wolf, too. "I am Natshana, an apothecary and healer here." A realization occurred to Natshana that, perhaps, this wolf was, in fact, approaching her for aid.  Recognizing that, she paused, eyes roving over Aimi's form for any sign of illness or injury. "Are you in need of care?"
