my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer - Miwa - December 13, 2020 More had come, more that stayed. The small band of canines had become a formation, a breath of life. The child did not mind that she was now apart of something that would soon be more, in fact she had enjoyed having more wolves to observe and mimic and yet there was still something missing. A piece of her heart was still bare, the place her blind brother and two mothers filled. Had they come looking for her, had they done as the large brown man had said? Shaking her dark head she simple started to walk, the only destination she could think of was the place that was now their borders. She had seen the brother do this, patrol and mark the area with their scent. She would do this now, help with this task. A sound came, a cawing that signaled for her to lift her head, she knew this voice for it was a young raven that had seemed to take a liking to her since the first day she came here. She had a spot of white on the back of her neck, a silly making much like her own. The girl braced herself as this young bird perched on her back, the claws hitting a sore spot due to how often she did this. With the new addition on tow the girl moved to the borders, insure if she should do this without another wolf with her. RE: my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer - Valmúa - December 14, 2020 PPing that they've at least met, since she's been at the Watch forever
She'd avoided the child since she'd discovered her existence. Children had a way of finding just the right way to disgust her, and she was hardly interested in what ever party games her brothers had decided to play by allowing the little thing into their ranks. What a ridiculous facade they kept of strength and the nobility of nature. Her lip twitched when she found Miwa's scent along their borders. As was the fire sister's modus operandi, she stalked the girl as though she was a little lost deer, begging for sweet relief from her terrible, lonely life. The ravens crowed overhead, alerting young Miwa to the creeping red flame close behind her. Why?!she shout-whispered to the skies, spitting the word at them, annoyed. Why was it that they had sided with Stjornuati in the form of the white raven? Why did the girl have her own close little bird that hung about? What made these beasts worthy when really, it was Valmúa who should have been allowing such a girl to lick the dirt from her paws. All of it was aggravating. Huffing, she came up toward the side of Miwa and relaxed her expression expertly, morphing into the breið frænka. Of course, all she'd meant to do was to annoy, but the ravens would see none of that, apparently. Miwa, she smiled. Trekking as a guardian, I see,she gave a glance that spoke approval. RE: my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer - Miwa - December 18, 2020 There was silence, but was it ever a true silence? There was the sound of her paws making impressions in the snow, the subtle rustle of the young raven's feathers, the sound of another's approach, and then.. well a warning from behind her, something that she was grateful for. She looked up, first, a thank you to her allies. She would need to catch a few offerings to express her gratitude, they always helped her more when she did this her companion shifted making a sound to join the warning. She then turned her head and spotted the woman they had not had too many interactions with, vibrant eyes watching her with a slight tilt of her skull. A wordless question, can I help you? She nodded once as if in affirmation, guardian, that was a nice idea. Could she be a guardian, like her mother? Could she be both, a singer and a protector? Could she make her mothers' proud by taking both professions? As she thought these things she fell instep with the much larger woman, the raven staring at her as they walked. RE: my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer - Valmúa - December 21, 2020 The girl said nothing, offering merely the tilt of her skull. Valmúa swallowed the sneer she was feeling and instead offered something that attempted to be a warm smile. It faded quickly, for the poppy girl had little energy for such guards that day. She realized at once that her long time avoidance of children like Miwa was probably the right way to go, and for a second she debated leaving her there.
Your companion, she began, glancing quickly toward the young raven and then focusing her eyes ahead. They walked almost in step, though Valmúa took broad steps, perhaps intentionally, that outpaced the girl. She is laglegur — pretty, she said. Had she been a weaker woman, a sickening envy might have glazed her words. As it stood, they were quite earnest, for she held respect for their fellows of the Watch. RE: my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer - Miwa - January 03, 2021 The woman smiled, beautiful and warm but with only lasted for a moment. It was obvious by her walk and stiffening behavior that she was not a fan of younger wolves like herself.Maybe it was because unlike most children of her age she was silent, almost being mute now that she did not have a blind brother to describe the world around to. The blue girl wanted to tell her that she was beautiful when she smiled, that she should do it more often but that would imply that when not smiling she was not very pretty. So she remained silent as they walked side by side, patrolling the borders of the woman's siblings' claim. The silence broke when she spoke of the young raven, calling him a female and then using a word that meant pretty. laglegur, She would remember this but she needed to correct the gender pronoun to save her companion's pride. "He is, very laglegur " Her voice sang softly, only looking over at the larger woman for a few steps before looking back at their task. |
