pull the trigger - Holland - December 20, 2020

Holland's steps were graceless, without purpose, as he walked. He didn't give a shit where he went, as long as it wasn't the Glen. He could not face Keres after their talk, and had wandered away without intention to return any time soon. Would she be worried? He doubted it, after all he had said.

"Don't follow me."

He even gave her an indirect order.

"Don't follow me."

He was only trying to make her see the error of blind faith. He resulted in perhaps cracking their friendship open for the brittleness to show. The man more or less stumbled through to the meadow, the cloudy sky above had given way to a dark night. The snow was his only light apart from the moon.

"Don't follow me."

He closed both eyes, a ragged sigh escaping his lips. Finally when he felt he could not walk any more, Holland sat in the cold. Alone. Without a care, or even a friend.

RE: pull the trigger - Toad - December 23, 2020

avicus was gone. toad followed her scent until it wavered, but had continued onward, determined not to give up. she was merrick's blood; thus the heart of ursus, born to carry on the legacy of the bearwolves in due time. and so she must be retrieved.

the meadow he was in was quite pleasant; he would've loved to have seen it in the spring, and wondered if it would bloom with flowers like the meadow back home. flowers, toad missed them. the cold season was far from his favorite. up ahead a dark figure sat- and though he was used to warning away visitors from ursus' meadow, this was neutral ground. toad pulled closer, chuffing lowly in greeting.

He was in no mood for idiocy.

Holland hoped for the sake of the other they were not a fool. An ear flicked backward in reply to the other man's chuff. He was also in no mood to really talk but ah, life liked to kick him when he was down. This he knew to be true. Call it atonement or revenge or even fate.

His neck would follow his ear, craning with difficulty due to the frost. He saw a largely common looking wolf there. Brown and ivory-cream. Nothing remarkable stood out to Holland, save for the scent of a pack he didn't know. "Who are you?" Why did the other call him?

i'm toad, he offered casually. this guy didn't seem eager to see him, but that was okay. all he wanted was information- and this stranger probably wasn't even who he was looking for, and likely had nothing to worry about from toad. not a little red girl, nor any familiar face of an enemy. but maybe he still had something to offer. you from around here, man?
