you have witchcraft in your lips - Aerenys - February 08, 2021 I know this says the setting is BFW but technically, she's outside the borders as of right now. @Eldritch <3
The mambo's gait was slinking, feral and uninhibited as shadow-steps kissed the earth with subconcious care -- silent as whispers and yet, absent, the habit of a huntress. Occasionally, the scales of Aphelion's coils twisted and curled where he draped about her throat like the finest pendant, lifting his coppery head at whim to scent the air with a flickering tongue.
She saw his mouth open in her peripherals as they came upon the fringes of the black wood -- murmuring with energies that spoke of a heart just as dark as the shrouded trees of its boundaries -- unnerved as he was by the raucous cries of the warring corvids in the canopy. Aerenys shushed him with a soft coo, the way a mother might her own child, as she stilled -- mismatched optics peering into the shadows with the faintest glimmer of curiosity in their depths, something unspoken singing in her blood, as if perhaps it recognized the site of her kin's legacy. "We go on then, yeah," the witch drawled soothingly beneath her breath in a Cajun accent, allowing her tongue to rasp briefly across the snake's head as he rose and wavered before her lips again -- as if he too wished to catch a glimpse of the wood's secrets. RE: you have witchcraft in your lips - RIP Eldritch - February 08, 2021 Here she comes! Here she be! <3 The Seer herself had been out wandering. It was quiet, at first, then she heard the corvids in the trees begin cawing, and with silent obedience, Eldritch prowled toward the border with a studious curiosity. The first sight she sees is mismatched eyes, those she would later understand to be signature of the Melonii line - purple and indigo. Her own white hues flicked over the fellow witch with awe as Eldritch came closer, head tilted with curiosity. "Hello." Eldritch offered calmly, yet the curiosity was evident in her face as she stood before the Melonii, an air of mysticism around the fellow witch that made Eldritch tingle inwardly with excitement, even as this first meeting was coming to it's start. RE: you have witchcraft in your lips - Aerenys - February 09, 2021 Violet and cobalt flick to the shadows as they shift, birthing one of their own to stand before the Priestess -- so dark she might've been swallowed by the tangle of wilderness at her back if not for the flint of her shrewd gaze peering back at Mati with an equal measure of intrigue.
She too felt the static as it crackled between them, the crows falling silent as if to watch this junction of occult hearts or maybe as if the Woods themselves were listening. "Merry meet, sister," Aerenys purled in the darkling's direction, a faint but friendly smile finding its way to her lips. Aphelion slithered tightly about her throat for a moment, though she remained unconcerned by this movement for it was not to harm his witch but rather to lengthen himself out and reach in Eldritch's direction. "Hmmm," the reptile's master hummed softly in curiosity, masked face turning back to the wraith's as if to give her a closer inspection -- though she already suspected the other woman to be a practiconier of dark arts . "Much as I have an affinity for his kind, Aphelion is rather fond of witches," she mused by way of explanation, hoping the woman might confirm it. RE: you have witchcraft in your lips - RIP Eldritch - February 09, 2021 The greeting she got in return made her ears perk, and yet she also relaxed some in a subconscious way. A manner equal to pulling off a social mask to show her real self. One of us, a sister Eldritch watched the snake with an affectionate curiosity, his scales were beautiful! As if blessed by the Daedra themselves, the Melonii spoke of witches. "I'm an aspiring witch, at the very least." Eldritch responded with calm humility, not yet sure if she could call herself a true practitioner of the Craft, or of healing. "My name is Eldritch." The Seer offered, hoping she may get in turn a name to call her fellow night sister. She would explain her practices after introductions RE: you have witchcraft in your lips - Aerenys - February 10, 2021 Mati smiled kindly. "Aphelion knows. You are born witch, yeah," she murmured, somewhat mysteriously, as the viper returned to her at a soft noise beneath the soothsayer's breath -- coiling in on himself as he wrapped more closely around her nape. The black pearl before her had the blood, just as the Melonii did. Perhaps her surname differed -- her looks too, slender and sharper than Aerenys' kin -- but the vodoun queen had long ago learned that hers was not the only bloodline that coursed with magic, nor were they the only to worship Aerenys' gods.
"I am Aerenys Melonii. You might call me Mati though if you wish," she offered in return, lips quirking briefly, as the Nightwish introduced herself officially, dipping her head slowly in a strange and formal sort of bow. "Have you practiced long?" The Priestess asked curiously as she straightened, curling char-black haunches beneath her as she sat, mismatched gaze observing her fellow witch with something akin to fascination. The last she had been in Teekon, she had come across no witches and knew only of the covens to the northeast: Hag's Fen and the Bayou where she had studied so scrupulously for the past two years. Even if Eldritch was being modest, or was perhaps a bit inexperienced, Aerenys wanted to know everything she could about her sister of the dark arts. RE: you have witchcraft in your lips - RIP Eldritch - February 10, 2021 The confirmation from a more experienced witch seemed to brighten Eldritch a little, though her calmness stayed - ethereal and spirit-bound. Aerenys Melonii, also known as Mati. Eldritch summarized her night-sister's introduction internally, wagging her tail a couple times as she also sat down, answering the Priestess' questions and giving more. "I have practiced since I was a pup, and it's been a little over three years since that point in my life. Within the past week or so, I have stopped here, and been dedicating myself to the Daedra, so I may become of close bond with them and their powers. I would love to find a mentor of sorts, one to teach me more about Mephala, Sithis, the Night Mother, and everything else." Her words were genuine, and an unwitting invitation for Aerenys to offer to teach her, bond with her, the works. In thought, Eldritch was inwardly certain that if Mati would have her, she would travel with her without a second thought. RE: you have witchcraft in your lips - Aerenys - February 11, 2021 A fond grin curled endearingly along the caplata's lips, a feeling of kinship warming her heart towards the shadowed sprite. They were quite close in age, but still, she reminded Mati much of her younger self -- before she felt grounded or established in her craft.
"Ah!" She exclaimed in a breathy rasp colored by her excitement. "They have surely heeded your worship then, and mine as well, yeah." "My kin have long been faithful servants to the Daedra and Aedra, for many generations. I grew up venerating them and I only recently departed from a coven in Bittermoure Bayou where I spent the past two years honing my craft," Aerenys explained in depth, head dipping in a solemn nod. "Now I seek my blood. Not Meloniis but other witches, children of the night. The gods' following has dwindled in past years. We are not so widespread as we once were, yeah. I wish to gather those who remain, to live and study amongst them." "You would be most welcome, if you would like to come, of course," her head canted aside vaguely, in the direction of the forest -- for Eldritch smelt slightly of the others who must lurk within. RE: you have witchcraft in your lips - RIP Eldritch - February 11, 2021 The shadow listened intently as Mati spoke, taking in every word. The in depth explanation was interesting and drew Eldritch in further, as she nodded in acknowledgement to the Priestess' words. At the unveiled invitation to travel with her, the shade perked up with visible interest. Turning her head to look into the trees, she didn't have to think long to find her answer. With quiet confidence, she spoke once more. "I would be honored to join you. I think I can learn many things from you, and any other night sisters we may find along the way." Eldritch smiled, slowly standing as Wing, her crow, came from the trees and landed on her shoulder. He cawed softly at her, inquisitively. Eldritch turned to the corvid on her shoulder and murmured "I will be going. Please stay and look after everyone, stay with your fellow birds." She only wanted to respect Mati's snake as well as the social nature of her familiar. Some birds find snakes as food, and the last thing she wanted was Wing to try and eat Aerenys' familiar. RE: you have witchcraft in your lips - Aerenys - February 14, 2021 The shadeling watched on curiously as her similarly-pelted companion called forth a winged familiar. She felt Aphelion squirm with vague anxiety at the sound of its wings flapping as the corvid emitting a soft, endearing caw. Mati smiled gratefully at her new friend, feeling a rueful stab of pity that the raven could not travel with them. "Thank you. I'm not sure whether the two of them would bicker but better safe than sorry, yeah" the Priestess drawled softly, head dipping apologetically as she shushed the snake with a soft sound beneath her breath, a murmur of Daedric.
"I imagine you will have to speak with your people before you depart these woods?" Aerenys asked lightly, in no way bothered. There was no timeframe to a journey such as hers - theirs now, she reminded herself with a swell of joy at the thought of having recruited another witch to join her in her travels. "I will be in the area for several more days if you would like to take the time to speak with your leader and say goodbye. I could meet you at the great lake just north of here?" She fell silent then, wondering what the other witch may want to do. It was only respectable that she explain her departure to those within her home, lest they worry needlessly. RE: you have witchcraft in your lips - RIP Eldritch - February 14, 2021 the thread in reference is in progress, but Eldritch will have told Rowan what's up by now! The corvid seemed to nod, and Wing flew back into the trees without protest. Eldritch then turned her attention fully back to Mati, catching her words with perked ears. "I have told my alpha I might leave one day, to follow the pulls of the Daedra. This was a few days ago, but I did tell him in advance." Eldritch assured, swaying her tail in a friendly manner as she began to pad forward, to join her fellow Night Sister in step. "Though, I think Rowan would appreciate me telling him that I'm leaving now, so, I'll say one last goodbye. If you'd like, I'll catch up?" Her words left room for Aerenys to stay if she chose, but otherwise she'd just run to catch up with her once she had finished telling Rowan her plan. With a raise of her head, Eldritch stood on the border and called for @Rowan. It was time. RE: you have witchcraft in your lips - Rowan - February 15, 2021 Eldritch.
A call from the fingertips of the trees. He sighed, knowing this was coming. Know this was what he dreaded. He didn't expect it so soon. A quick prayer to Mephala as he ran to his packmate. For her safe journey and return. He slowed as he neared the borders, watching the scene. Eldritch, and another dark woman. He tilted his head, the question held in his gaze. Now? RE: you have witchcraft in your lips - Aerenys - February 15, 2021 "I will wait, yeah," the ampithere murmured graciously with a bob of her obsidian crown. It was only polite given how much her newfound devotee was giving up to follow Aerenys, or more specifically, to follow the call of the gods. She sat, waiting patiently as the darkling called for her mystery leader. Soon after a young silver caped in rusted shades of earth drew from the woods with similar stealth as Eldritch had possessed, though his was nearly perfected -- as if he was quite familiar with and comfortable in the dark tangle of the trees.
Mati dipped her head respectfully to the man but otherwise remained silent, allowing Eldritch the privacy to say her goodbyes to her pack mate as the mambo preoccupied herself with brushing her dark muzzle in soothing passes over Aphelion's coiled length. RE: you have witchcraft in your lips - RIP Eldritch - February 15, 2021 As Mati withdrew some spaces, Eldritch's gaze fell upon Rowan as he came to her. She saw the question in his eyes and nodded once in confirmation. "I will be traveling with her to further my studies, and my practices. But I will return one day, I promise." Her muzzle motioned lightly to Aerenys, then she turned back to Rowan. A smile, excited yet sad, formed over her void-colored face. "This is goodbye, for now." RE: you have witchcraft in your lips - Rowan - February 21, 2021 He looked between the two.
She'd not left the territory as far as he knew. So she'd decided to go off with some stranger, showing up on their borders, out of the blue. He swallowed, looking between them again. "Come back," he smiled softly, willing his voice not to betray him with worry. But it was her choice. He'd still be here, in these woods, to accept her back into his arms. Ivory Rose or not. "Have a safe journey," he smiled again. He tried not to feel anger as he turned away, but Sithis pressed him to let it creep in and taint him. None should turn their back. Rowan retreated again, warring with his thoughts - or was it him fighting Sithis? - wanting to feel only love for those who wanted to come, but couldn't help but feel betrayed. RE: you have witchcraft in your lips - Aerenys - February 23, 2021 Mati eyes the man with an inscrutable gaze of blue and violet, sensing some false note in his tones but not quite certain. She felt a tad bit awkward, surprised as she was that Eldritch had appeared and agreed to follow the witch on her journey so suddenly. Still, she'd gotten the impression that no one was bothered too much by her leaving. Rowan seemed fine with it, so the Melonii held her tongue for the moment -- trying to remain detached from their conversation, feeling a bit as though she were prying.
She felt a sudden wind tear through her shaded pelt and shivered as the whispers of Boethiah sounded in her ears. Perhaps the Woods held more magic than any of them had ever realized, perhaps the Daedra were closer than they knew. The boy thinks you have stolen from him. He hears my voice as you hear the Princes, witchling. She ignored the murmurings of madness in her mind, but watched him as he went -- wondering. |
