Indistinct voice whispering - Norah - March 06, 2021

@Sialuk

Norah sat on a cliff ledge, watching the sun rise above the horizon. Remnants of her early morning meal of a hare were lying by her feet, but she seemed to be so deep in thought that she would probably not take notice, if anyone snatched it away from her.

The pack that had initially been a rag-tag band of Moonspear survivors had flourished in a matter of weeks. A turn of events she had not anticipated. Neither had she thought that Kukutux would survive this long with a bad break of leg she had. But apparently her skills of twirling people around her dainty fingers was pretty remarkable.

There was something for her to learn and to meddle. All that was left to do was to find an exact way how.

Norah was the only one among Moonglow, aside from the Ostrega mother and daughter, who had come away from the spear with her life. She had survived because she had been away, much the same as Sialuk had been on the opposite side of the mountain when the strange storm struck. Knowing what she knew of the black wolf, Sialuk did not think that Norah would see this as anything peculiar: just coincidence. Norah did not have a spirit that was open as anaa and Sialuk did.

Sialuk had seen Sixsix earlier that morning, but he had flown off at sunrise shortly after the raindrop's morning howl. She had not seen him since, but that was not uncommon, so she did not worry. Instead, she found herself following Norah's trail to a cliff edge, not unlike the one where they had met for the first time.

Norah, Sialuk greeted, her head bowed momentarily. Although Sialuk ranked above her, Norah was older, and the raindrop firmly believed in respecting her elders, no matter their rank.

As pleasant as coming up with world-domination plans was, nothing compared to a real-life interaction with a person. Norah hastily shoved the blueprints in one of her mental desk drawers and turned to greet the girl with a perfectly composed and innocent expression. Bleach had not suffered in the downfall of Moonspear, presumably she too had been away, when the tragedy had struck. She also had managed to grow up in the meanwhile and, though it meant that this girl would become a tad bit more entertaining to have around, she could not say that she enjoyed looking the lass in the eye and not look down from above.

"Sialuk," she dipped her muzzle politely in return and waited for her to speak.

Norah greeted her with her name as well, adding nothing more to further the conversation. Have you met the others who have joined us? Sialuk asked. There were plenty more among them now, and she was curious to hear Norah's thoughts on them, being a wolf of a much different background. Sialuk knew that she and Kukutux were rather different than the majority of wolves in this world, though that had never deterred Sialuk from following her mother's traditions.

Perhaps the other wolves who had joined them were perfectly regular and fine to somebody who was more accustomed to the local culture. Raimo in particular was one that Sialuk was wary of. He put off an aura that she did not like.
