I don't know why - Derg - March 25, 2021 @Auriel for your mission!
Kynareth had summoned him for a meeting. He knew they were after Ursus, but so soon?
And after Zsuzsa? And breeding season? Derg didn't know if it was the right decision, but the brindle made compelling arguments for it. So he was looking for the strange pelted woman, for a catch up and to give her the job. He came across her, on patrol. Derg chuffed, trotting up beside her with a grin. "Got a job for you." His tail waved happily. Hoping she'd be ok with this. RE: I don't know why - Auriel - March 25, 2021 It had been a tranquil few weeks for the she-wolf, exploring her territory and meeting her packmates. Unfortunately for her, 'peaceful' was far from her favourite state of things. She liked the drama, the fear of the unknown and fighting that fear with a pack at her side. She had wished for pups, too. Too late for that now though, at least for this year. Her goals were burned into the back of her mind and she stood unwavering. Lost in her ideas she did not see nor hear the agouti wolf sneak up on her, jolting back into reality as his familiar voice broke through the thick cloud of her thoughts. Regrettably, she had been in the middle of marking territory, so this was an uncomfortable startle. "Ah...Derg." The she-wolf made of sand and stone dipped her head in greeting. "A job you say? Do tell." RE: I don't know why - Derg - March 28, 2021 In the canyon, Auriel blended in perfectly with her sandy colour and strange markings. Here though, one would think she'd stick out sorely. Sometimes she did, but other times she blended in well, like a cougar.
He grinned, knowing he'd unintentionally scared her. He let her finish her marking before telling her. "Kynareth wants you to go gather information from Ursus." He didn't know if she knew about the troublesome pack, but filling her in would be good anyway. "They reside in Bearclaw valley, a days trek east from the canyon. Nyra had tried to kill one of theirs, and they wanted her blood and w suspected they were rallying a troop against us, so we moved here." He let her digest the information. "They have two main leaders, Merrick and his mate, a dark, mute she-wolf. She is dangerous. They attack like a swarm of bees, if one suspects foul play, that's the whole pack upon you. However, it being the whelping season, the pack will be more distracted in looking after mothers and feeding babies. All you have to do is slip in, make friends, and come back." On paper it was always easy. and easier still to think up of a plan without having to execute it. "They don't know who you are. As long as you never mention any of us, you will be ok. You don't have to be there long, but when you decide to leave you leave quickly." He looked to her, knowing there'd be questions. RE: I don't know why - Auriel - April 18, 2021 The allowance to finish marking before continuing the conversation seemed to be much appreciated as she bumped her head against the male's shoulder, ears pricked as she settled beside him. It was true she often stuck out like a sore thumb here, she missed the canyons terribly. "Ursus. The name is familiar." A few weeks before she had left for the winter they had had a similar talk. This time it seemed much more urgent. Auriel listened with the greatest of care, taking note of names and important information. "Yes. I understand, I will leave immediately." She awaited his next words as she raised to her feet, tail held high with pride. Her Don- Kyanareth had specially chosen her for this mission, she refused to fail him. |
