to that one minute - RIP Wintersbane - April 11, 2021 pack howl. one round; one post each. y'all are amazing! <3
the day is overcast; heavy clouds blocking out the warm, seeking golden rays of the sun. occasionally, it peaks from beneath its prison of thick grey clouds but it's liberation is always short lived. despite the dismal painted grays of the day, wintersbane drawls in a deep breath and feels free. finally, something of his own creation; with the aid and loyalty of those he has gathered to the glacier. it is theirs and there is no longer reason to put off making them official. they are small but their numbers are enough and with any hope they would swell with the future generation he hopes to see. perhaps even wildly hopes to sire. he climbs up a outcropping of rough rock exposed from the glacier as the warmer months herald the coming summer. from his perch, he can see much of his claim and the feverkissed king takes a moment to revel in it before he tips his head back and lets out a howl, letting the ice and rock carry his rasping voice; not quite heralding the strength it once had pre-marring of his throat. duskfire glacier is ours! his song announces; beckoning for his wolves: @Imaq, @Iana, @Rye, @Tzila, @Melaine to add their voices. for those nearby it is a joyous howl of their achievement and ...a warning. they were here and they were staying. RE: to that one minute - Iana - April 11, 2021 It had felt like theirs for some time, or perhaps she hard grown attached to the land. To the wolves. Yet it seemed they solidified their claim. A realness to the feeling she had for everything here.
So perhaps it was no surprise when the call rang clear. Except it still filled her with a feverish joy for it all and she was quick to join in. A light voiced howl to join in with any others who would call back. They were all unified now. Duskfire Glacier was theirs. RE: to that one minute - Rye - April 11, 2021 It seemed like yesterday he was at Duskfires doorstep wondering just where he belonged but now he was going to make the Glacier his home. To protect it with his life and to protect those within those borders as well. He was home and as he heard the claiming howls his heart swelled with pride and joy, his own song quickly joining the others. Finally he belonged. RE: to that one minute - Imaq - April 11, 2021 The shepherd's gilded crown jerked upwards in surprise, eyes wide as they looked to the horizons -- as if she might be able to pinpoint the very location of the celebratory call ringing across the crackling plains of Duskfire. They'd done it, the tribe had officially staked the land for their own and now the world would know it too as Wintersbane's cry of triumph broke the cool air. Of course, Imaq could withhold her joy with as little restraint as her newfound comrades -- though she had already begun to think of them as pack mates long ago. Tipping her head back, the she-dog's joyful howl was heard alongside the tones of her pack. RE: to that one minute - RIP Tzila - April 11, 2021 For a while now, Tzila had begun to feel settled at the Glacier. With the band of wolves pledged to Wintersbane, to form something great. Something entirely their own, where they could lean against and trust one another. It was yet another brand new chapter in her life. One filled with unknowns, but that she was glad to be starting. Already, she could sense the hint of promise. There was no need to hold back and be silent anymore. Their numbers were by no means impressive. They wouldn't be judged by size, but by character. She was proud with what they had and what they were already. With Wintersbane's raspy voice filling the air in a grand song of claim, others soon joined in. At one time in her life, Tzila may have been silent. May have hesitated. Not this time. She didn't hold back and released her voice, haunting and powerful - We Are Duskfire Glacier. |
