from what source i cannot tell. - Imaq - May 10, 2021

tracking #2 (rolled for individual mountain goat, imaq goes undetected)

After startling the deer away, Imaq was left feeling sour of mood and empty-handed -- despite the fact that the herd would have likely fled soon anyways, given how the land reeked of their presence and the glacial terrain made for lackluster grazing lands. Still, the huntress couldn't help but feel disappointed at having let such an opportunity escape her grasp. She determined to seek after the whitetails, though not today as that would only serve to spook them farther from the Glacier and its wolves. Instead, she took to hunting about the territory, nose low to the ground and lips parted to strengthen any scent trails as she trotted along aimlessly -- simply seeking.

Hmm..@Tzila (reference) has been through here recently..though not as recently as that ptarmigan..and that smells sort of like a hare but it's too faded to really tell..

After a time, Imaq wandered across a more promising smell and abruptly halted in the process of sniffing along the ground -- ears shooting upwards like a domestic pointer. She circled the spot in one, two, tight loops and gave it an even more thorough smell -- determining the slightly faded scent was in fact an injured mountain goat.

Straightening, a grin broke over her features in triumph before she half-lowered herself again into a natural crouch that most hunters would surely recognize, following after the smell and a smattering of blood droplets.
