—the gash of some terrible reality leaping, - Imaq - May 10, 2021

AW, tracking #6 (rolled for target: individual goose, but given the setting im going to use one of the other options listed on her roll and use the mule deer herd since that makes more sense IC. imaq will be spotted)

As spring lengthened, inching ever closer to summer and the inevitable arrival of pups on the Glacier, Imaq felt an increased urge to be on the move. There was some itch beneath her skin that urged her to prepare, to ready for the boom of life and activity that was sure to come in the approaching months. She was sure that Wintersbane and Rye, if they were the fathers of Tzila's and Lane's respective litters, would do all they could to help the mothers-to-be and would care for their offspring but it would also be Imaq's and Iana's responsibilities to help ensure the future of their pack by caring for the women and their children while they were indisposed.

The shepherd took to hunting beyond their land, scouring the Taiga at large not unlike one of the fierce nanuks of her youth -- patrolling wide swaths of white on the polar plains in search of enough game to feed their own. On this particular day, she chose to head east -- remembering some vague deer smells she had picked up on the grasslands a few days ago.

It was still early when the tracker arrived at the foothills of the dormant volcano, a light mist clinging to the ground as it beaded the grass with dew. Imaq settled off to the side, lowering herself so that her ivory underbelly was flush with the earth as she watched the distant figures of the herd grazing and rasping at the stones surrounding the pools of water with their tongues.
