He made good time, climbing among the bleeding trees and then down in to the valley.
The lowlands were warm, with the low scattered clouds causing a strange pressure in the back of his head. Reyes sought the shadows of the forest as much for shelter from the summer heat, as for the need to hunt. He didn't really have the energy for it right now, but food would stave off the worst of his headache if he moved quickly.
As he roamed among the trees he found a series of abandoned hollows, perhaps once dens, and thought it odd.
