ratatouille - Dante RIP - September 21, 2014

Intended to be a gamekeeper thread! Open to anyone who wants to join <3

This was an interesting development.

The Beta male was hunkered down, staring into a small dark tunnel beneath a tree's roots, completely focused and attempting to make out any movement in the gloom. He could smell them, and while he had never tasted rat, they smelled like prey enough to him that he'd be willing to try. The only problem was how to get them to come to him, for there was no way his shoulders were fitting into that small opening.

The position would be an odd one to any who might come upon him, but he wasn't worried about that right now. His mind was on the task at hand and the puzzle it posed. Perhaps he could dig from behind, but then they would run off. He wasn't quick enough that he could follow. If he tried going in from the front they would just retreat further back and the problem would persist.

Rumbling in frustration, he continued to think on it. "You know, little buggers, you could just come out like good little bites and make the whole thing a lot easier," he muttered. Not likely.

RE: ratatouille - Vector - September 21, 2014

Quote: hopping in because I ish bored ridiculously. Plus, Vector needs friends. :/
set before stepping on Noct Bypass lands.

The flare coated male had been on the run for quite some time, his ability to stay running for such a strenuous amount of time had not amazed him, however. He was accustomed to putting his body through a bit more that it should handle, for benifits of making it stronger. And as he he made his way past another almost identical chunk of forest, , his limbs no longer served him, stopping in mid run. His brain had told him to stop. Why?

Vector searched around, his emerald gaze finally landing upon a form who was leff than 4 yards away. How had he missed him? Perhaps the blend of greys and whites that accented the lupines coat, forming a bit of camouflage against natural view.

The male seemed preoccupied with something under the tree, and deciding he could take a break from his trek, and investigate the reason behind the actions of the stone flecked wolf.
Vector paced his gait, arriving right next to the male, almost silent, but immediately loudened his steps, as to not startle the other into a confrontation that would possibly lead to bloodshed. After all, such misunderstood action, led to death, back in his homeland.

"Privet, " greeted the fiery brown hued man, his russian accent intertwined strongly in the English words. "What are you doing?"

RE: ratatouille - Dante RIP - September 22, 2014

Lol, Dante isn't gonna be too friendly since he's on pack lands ^^ but if you are cool with that I am XD
once he gets out perhaps!

The footsteps of another entered his consciousness, but did not cause alarm just yet, for Dante did not realize it was a stranger who approached. Opening his mouth to ask for assistance, he turned, expecting to be met with the familiar sight of one of his packmates. Instead, however, he found himself face to face with an intruder, and a brazen one at that.

Instantly his hunt was abandoned, though the thought of another hunt interrupted did little to make him feel in a friendly way towards this man. Was he a magnet for loners? Not only that, but loners who couldn't scent a boundary?

"You are trespassing on claimed lands," he responded, ignoring the man's question and looking at him with hackles raising slightly. He wasn't outright attacking, but there was a threatening edge to his voice that told he wasn't joking around. With the other man he had been a bit more friendly, but that was before his promotion and gaining full fledged Warden status. Dante had found his protectiveness of the Plateau had increased quite a bit with the recent developments.

RE: ratatouille - Vector - September 23, 2014

Quote: oh yea, no biggie. I was scrolling through my thread log and was wondering why you hadn't replied, while staring at your name, thinking it was 'Vector'. xD The worst reader on earth. If I only had a brain, I woulda responded earlier.

The greyed male with peppered darkness across his pelt responded with a answer that was not to the offered question. And he was in the right protocol for that answer, because in his haste from avoiding the humans, he had easily slipped over the border, being careful not to have a single hair of his not touch a tree, fallen log, grass, dirt, branch, or anything else that could lead a trail back to him, whether it be searching bloodhounds, or other wolves.
But at the mention of his current location, the recon considered turning 180° and bolting for the nearby border.

"I give you a sincere apology. "

His brain swiftly pushed a reason on his tongue before he had warrented such words from being born.

" I was escaping humans, and their pitiful search dogs. I passed over the border with no hesitation, but I hold no hesitation on leaving back over it. "

His accent was thoroughly stressed on the word 'dog' for he hated mutts. The ridiculous gene generated wolves who held nearly no ancestry to their own ancestors. Vector kept the anger in check, as he kept his emotionless face on infront of the wolf who had previously been in a strange action only moments before.

RE: ratatouille - Dante RIP - September 23, 2014

Lol never worry about holding me up, it will probably often go the other way around since I work all day ^^;

At the male's apology, Dante's aggressive stance relaxed a bit, but he would not drop his guard until the other male was seen off of their lands. He sensed truth in the words, but that did not mean he wasn't just a good liar.

"You must have run far, then, for there are no humans here." He responded warily, "but I am glad to hear you will leave without urging. I will accompany you back." It wasn't a question, but a statement. If he was to be in their lands, he would have an escort, and the Warden also needed to ensure that he truly left.

Without hesitation he turned, beginning to head back towards the border. As he did so he paused, ensuring that the other would be coming as well. He was prepared to offer incentive if necessary, but hopefully this instance would go as peacefully as his last had. His luck with intruders had to run out eventually, though... they couldn't all be this well mannered.

RE: ratatouille - Vector - September 23, 2014

Quote: Understood. Thanks, friend. :D

"Understood."
Vector spoke with no sign of resistance, only dropping the note of regret in his voice to suit the current situation. After all, he could tell the male did not believe his story of the humans, which was unfortunate. The one time he had spoken the truth, he had no believer. A pathetic version of the wolf who cried human.

The autumn hued male didnt quarrel with others unless he was told such a deal had to happen. Seeing how he was not hired nor directed to do such a thing, he was not obligated to hurt the soft escort. Yet, if Vector had been in his paws, and this had been his Motherland, such an act would have been concluded with Death of the trespasser. Fortunately for him, this new land had not had such customs. Or else he would have had to snap more legs, and shred more necks. This gray-scaled man, however had a heart. Emotions. And among them, forgiveness was evident, for the convict/ mass murderer was being set free from the trial of stepping on anothers lands.

Vector kept his maw shut, revealing nothing other than what he had stated previously. If the male asked for his name, he would give him his common codename. His real name was known by no other breathing souls on the planet besides the one who had birthed him, and his sire. His mother and father. Who were both still in Russia,...he hoped.

RE: ratatouille - Dante RIP - September 26, 2014

He sounded somewhat dejected, understandable since Dante wasn't exactly being the friendliest at the moment. He wondered how far this stranger had traveled to have been chased by such foreign things as humans. For it was a well known fact that none resided in the Teekon range.

At the moment, Dante wasn't interested in learning anything much about this man. He wanted him out. "Come."

Dante was taciturn as he led the way, not quite sure where his dark mood was coming from. It had been an off few days for him, though. Their successful hunt had helped a bit, but he was still not content. It would pass, in time, for it always did, but still he hated it. It made him even more antisocial than usual as well in an effort to avoid spreading the ill effects to his packmates.

RE: ratatouille - Vector - September 26, 2014

Following the man, Vector was studying him from behind. His calculating green gaze set upon his manner, how he spoke, and how his muscles moved beneath his dense and solid coat of silvered blacks and whites. He certainly had a nice mass to him, but Vector wondered how he would be as an opponent in battle.
The escort was a pack wolf, so he assassinated the thought before it grew and lay eggs of persuasions of actions he did not want to take.

He was right behind the male, wondering exactly how he went about his daily life, this english speaker.

RE: ratatouille - Dante RIP - October 02, 2014

When they arrived on the border, Dante turned to the other, who apparently was in the same taciturn state as he. He did have the grace to feel a bit badly that this guy had caught him on an off day... even if he was a stranger. Thus, he attempted to take things to a bit more friendly note. After the obligatory warning, of course.

"Here we are. Try not to come back, at least unless you plan on pledging. Next time there won't be a warning." He might not be looking for a fight but that didn't mean he would hesitate should a trespass be done willingly and with negative intent. He had marked this male's scent as well as the one who had come before him. If he caught either of them around again, he would not be so lenient. He wasn't even so sure he should be the first time.

"You are new to these parts, then?" He asked, mildly curious. He was not pledged yet, for there was no pack scent upon him. A passing loner, then.

RE: ratatouille - Vector - October 02, 2014

"Da," the russian replied. As lazer like orbs fell upon the grey flecked male, Vector did his part to look a bit on the humble side, wanting to fiercely subdue the dark thoughts that wished to have this man's blood on his tongue. After all, he didnt do anything, he was simply doing his job.

"Are you?"

The russian accent rang out thick, though the english remained clear enough to understand.
Vector debated on whether he desired to give the man a bit of decency by telling him a bit of his old life, the thought attempting to twist a blade of worry and paranoia into his mind.
The recon swiftly sheathed it, while awaiting the man's report.

RE: ratatouille - Dante RIP - October 09, 2014

Dante almost, out of instinct, responded 'yes', but stopped himself. "No, I suppose not anymore." There was some surprise at that revelation. Aside from Peregrine's family and Blue Willow, there were not many who could beat him for longevity here.

He did not press for details that the other did not want to give, for he understood a guarded past. He too had one he held closely, for he liked to leave the youth he had been behind in favor of the man he had become.

"There are many packs around here, so I would proceed cautiously. It's pretty easy to stumble into them." He'd treaded with care and been fine, so he was sure Vector would manage to avoid trouble if he chose to.

RE: ratatouille - Vector - October 09, 2014

Quote: Final post from meh, thanks for returning. Much appreciated. :D
good thread.

Vector kept his mouth shut, until he reached the distinctly marked border he had so imperviously crossed, not too long ago. As he crossed it, he turned to the guarded Warden, and dipped his craninium a bit, as a thanks.

He stood there for a while, unshifting, unmoving, and simply stared at his escort. It was then, that his brain decided upon giving the greyed man a few words to remember him by.

"You can't always escape a past, but you can definitely fuck up a future. "

With that, he turned, leaving through the mist that hung lowly over the seclusional plains, and he wandered back off to his home.
