The remaining daylight was fading. The river had quieted to a hum of bugs and the lapping of water.
Ratty had always enjoyed such hours. He sat upon his porch with his feet dipped into the waters. In his paws was a large nut, one he had been saving for a special occasion.
To autumn,Rat stated and bit into the nut with a crunch.
