Límni - Arsenio - September 25, 2021 It was nearly nightfall when Arsenio had reached the base of the mountain and found a path alongside the river. The misthofóros trotted alongside it, reveling in the ache of his tired frame and the slope of his back. There would be fish ahead and he was capable enough of catching two or three of them to fill his belly. On his descent, Arsenio had noted the stretch of land between the mountain range he scaled and the one in the distance. There were miles between them and likely many territories that had been claimed by wolves. It had not been until he had reached the river that the Greek had plucked the sharp fragrance of claimed terrain. The wetland to the south had been his guess, but Arsenio had not stopped. Plodding into the water, the misthofóros soaked his large paws. The ice blue of his gaze searched the surrounding terrain for signs of any who would approach. RE: Límni - Adrastus - September 26, 2021 The river he travelled through led him further and further from Moonglow, and down toward a lake where the water opened up in a vast expanse. He'd travelled in the shallows so that his scent could not be detected, and would continue to be coy about his movements until he felt sure he was clear of the wolves he left behind. If they were smart, they'd just let him be. But he had low expectations from them now, all things considered. Along the way he had stopped to groom himself and soak in the waters. He had rubbed against cedar and willow, refreshing his scent as his own and ridding it of the scent of the Moonglow wolves. Hell, he hadn't even touched any of them after returning to them, so it took very little effort for him to reset his scent anyway. He considered fishing in the lake and then either stopping for the night, but looked up when he saw movement in the distance. Auburn fur, with a faint hue of chestnut in the fading light, caught his attention. An unusual coat colouring, autumnal and soft. The male looked healthy enough, he thought, so he offered the stranger a subtle dip of his head in acknowledgement, as he began to search for the movement of fish beneath the water's rippling surface. RE: Límni - Arsenio - September 26, 2021 The lake was not entirely private. Against the glint of water, a pale figure worked its way to the edge where a stalwart figure gazed into the lake in search of fish. The misthofóros watched with a curious blue gaze. The sharp cut of his shoulders showed a simple swaying movement as Arsenio placed himself in a more advantageous position. When the pale stranger dipped his head, the Greek returned the gesture with a stiffness to his neck. Arsenio was not a talented fisherman. He wished to watch the snowy figure, hoping to see if the male was any better at catching the slippery creatures beneath the water. |
