Suited and booted, but got no money - Fennec - October 09, 2021

Also from threads assuming there's a group here, ignore me if I'm mistakennn

Fennec hadn't stopped wandering, though she had given up on the hope that she might find the wolves Bronco feared.  At least... that she'd find them before they wanted her to.

She refused to fear leaving the way he did, though, no matter what he felt about that.  And there was a small prick of guilt behind that, because on one side she felt like there was a conversation they should be having.  One she should drive for.  But on the other side, she balked, silently insisting that if he wanted to talk he would.

So things were, pretty much, consistent.  There was one thing she would never get enough of, though, and that was hearing Killdeer and Bronco together.

Today she was 'hunting' in her own way.  She'd passed through the Bramblepoint and a few sharp calls told her that a few ravens had seen her and picked up her trail.  Sometimes her decisions to hunt were on their time, but she wouldn't complain at the opportunity.  Their partnership was only on so long as they saw need for her and she knew that as well as they did.

Fennec stopped abruptly, however, a short time after the grasses transitioned to warmer earth and stone.  There was a stronger scent here, something that spoke to a measure of claim.  She hadn't heard of a pack nearby - but now her interest was piqued.  She wouldn't cross into their tentative hold but continued to skirt it, birds gliding overhead, waiting for either a signal from them or some interest occurrence to break up the day.
