get wild - Junior - September 28, 2014 After her encounter with Cthulu, Junior trekked east, roaming just beyond the Teekon Wilds' furthest fringes. The endless wilderness called to her, a song heard not by the ears but by the heart and, to some extent, the paws. Junior listened to it as she veered south and considered heeding its needy cry. Instead, she stuck to the outskirts of her homeland, unable to break the tie that snared her, even though it was almost totally threadbare. After traveling ceaselessly for three days, Junior finally stopped in the shadow of a distant mountain and slept from one dusk all the way through to the following afternoon. She rose, feeling famished and desperately thirsty. She took care of the latter urge via a small brook, though finding food wouldn't prove so easy. As soon as she located quarry, it seemed to elude her, leaving the youth frustrated and more ravenous than ever. Her unproductive tracking brought her within scenting range of a pack. Junior paused, eyes glowing in the midnight darkness, and sniffed the air. She smelled no more than a handful of wolves. Licking her chops, she slowly made her way closer to the edge of the forest that apparently comprised the pack's range. She deliberated whether it might be worth the risk to raid one of their caches. She could die... but then she would die if she didn't find sustenance soon too. Junior actually made up her mind to invade and rob their stockpiles, though her courage failed her when she actually arrived at the treeline. Instead, the juvenile stood there, tail twitching and eyes shifting contemplatively over the dark woodland. RE: get wild - Bane - September 29, 2014 EDIT (1/22/2015): Removing tables.
Things were getting better with time. The rate at which Bane-s body was healing was incredibly fast, probably because of the magic Meldresi was working on him. Even when the priestess performed some weird ass rituals on him, and most of the time his head got all fuzzy (he liked that part though), his improvement was fast. Now he has able to walk out of the caves with normality and he had got to one of the most exciting parts of living in the Darkest forest around: exploration. He got up late one night -not that there was a way of differentiating it from day- the time when silence reigned in the forest, and decided that it was time to push himself a bit. He started taking slow and silent steps away from the cave, and further ahead his pace started to grow faster. He could do it now, he was ready to run. He pushed hard with his hind legs to propel himself as fast as his body permitted, it wasn't too much, but he would enjoy it. He had missed the cold air hitting his face and running through his fur. It didn't last for too long though, his breath turned heavy and his legs sore, he would need to start taking little baby steps to gain his strength back. He stopped panting not too far from the borders, not able to breathe properly. And that's when a sudden rush of air that carried the scent of an unfamiliar wolf struck him making his his entire body stiffen. He looked up instantly and tried to get any hint of the location of the intruder with his ears, but it was too silent, he got nothing. He pushed himself to walk closer to the treeline where the forest ended, and there he saw her. It was a female, and she was very young. Her posture was uneasy, like she was hesitating to enter the woods. The only sound that he managed to make was a low growl to announce his presence, and he tried to make himself bigger and hide the weak aspect he carried lately. The girl was about to enter his land and he wouldn't allow it on his watch, not even if he was physically unable to stop her. RE: get wild - Junior - September 29, 2014 A white figure slipped from the trees like some sort of phantasm, spooking Junior. The low warning growl had the desired effect; it caused her to take three unsteady backward steps. Her ears pinned back and she grimaced, her tail stiffening but remaining low. She smelled injury on the pale wolf, though he was still older and larger than her. Junior knew she wouldn't take her chances. Turning and leaving seemed the most logical course of action, yet Junior's pride flared in protest at the notion of flight. Instead, she stood her ground, nostrils flaring and whiskers quivering as she eyed the stranger. The juvenile didn't speak nor make any other sound, waiting to see if he would say something first. RE: get wild - Bane - September 29, 2014 Sorry if my posts seem a little all over the place, it's been hard to write lately...
Bane wasn't a protective wolf by nature, but there was something about the woods that made him want to make sure everyone knew that if you were not invited, Blackfeather wasn't the place to be if you didn't want trouble with him. Meldresi had offered a safe place to live, and more important than that she had offered a place to belong, so just being in the darkness of his new home made him feel at ease, it made him feel comfortable, something he wasn't used to but was willing to protect at any cost, there is a first time for everything. When the girl moved backwards he felt confident that now she wouldn't try to get in to his forest now, but he kept his aggressive posture towards the young shadow, He had always been skeptic about loners, and even though this one was young he didn't trust her for a second. His gaze was directed straight to her mismatching eyes showing dominance, and his hackles stood on end making him look bigger. Hadn't he been unable to speak he would've said something to her, but for now he just continued to extend the snarl as he pushed forward growing closer to her. RE: get wild - Junior - September 29, 2014 Despite Junior's neutral stance, the stranger grew more aggressive. She prickled indignantly, her lips wrinkling back from her teeth. Couldn't he see that she was no threat to him or his land? Junior let her tail go limp between her hind legs as she backpedaled several more steps, all the while keeping her eyes on him. She didn't look him straight in the eye — she saw no reason to challenge him — but watched for any sudden movements. "What's your problem?" she eventually demanded. "I'm not doing anything to you." That wasn't true; she was close to his pack's territory and, furthermore, had been contemplating robbing them. This didn't stop Junior from feeling disgruntled. This was becoming her default mood. "No reason to be acting all butthurt." RE: get wild - Bane - September 30, 2014 The young savage kept pushing forward even when the intruder dared question his intentions. Perhaps the girl didn't cross the imaginary line that defined what part of the land was his, but if she had a nose she would've known that no one without permission would be well recieved. Bane didn't know it, but the girl was planning to get in his territory and steal from them, and it wasn't hard to be suspicious about the girl for she was standing right in front of the treeline that bordered the dark Blackfeather when she had without a doubt got the scent that said GTFO. "Not yet, Sweetheart..." he forced himself to growl, he was still struggling to catch his breath and speaking wasn't yet easy, "But this is as close as you're getting for now..." he growled in an even deeper tone. Even though he had made clear that she wasn't coming in, there still was a part of him that wanted to test the girl as a possible recruit, winter was close and they were few, some new members would be useful, not everyone would get in so easily, but the boldness of the girl in front of him was a hint on what she was capable of, and there existed some interest. RE: get wild - Junior - October 01, 2014 His answer didn't quite make sense, though she reacted more to the growl than the words themselves and took yet another step backward. Did she look like she wanted to get any closer? No, Junior thought scathingly as his growl deepened. What the hell was this dude's problem? She was presenting herself as neutrally as possible and there was no way he could know her original intentions... so what was his beef? "I don't have any interest in getting any closer to your weak little pack," she snapped softly after a moment, his unnecessary aggression pushing her over the edge. "How many wolves even live here? Like, four?" she taunted in a low voice. "And you're hurt," she guessed aloud, trusting her nose even if she couldn't necessarily see any visible wounds. "Weak," she repeated snidely. RE: get wild - Bane - October 02, 2014 To Bane it didn't matter if the girl was presenting herself as neutral, she was dreadfully close to his lands, and the defiance of her words didn't help much either. The shadow girl's mouth said she didn't have any intentions of getting closer to his pack, but her actions pointed indicated that she wasn't here to admire the view. The young savage snapped his jaws in front of the girl's face when she suggested that his pack was weak. She was right about their numbers and about his condition too, but he was still bigger than her, and she didn't seem to have any backup. "Four are still more than one... he responded with a low growl and a smirk as he took yet another step forward, wanna try your luck? RE: get wild - Junior - October 02, 2014 "No," Junior said slowly and emphatically, as if he was a particularly thickheaded child. "I have told and shown you that I have no intent of bothering your pack. What is your issue?" She sneered at him, then decided she'd had enough. He was probably talking the talk because he couldn't walk the walk. The young Warrior was tempted to really test him, yet she wasn't stupid. The smartest thing she could do right now was turn her back on this overly aggressive wolf and be on her way. "Fuck this," she muttered under her breath, spinning and trotting away from him at a leisurely pace that indicated her indifference to him and his pack. RE: get wild - Bane - October 05, 2014 Then get away from it! He growled snapping his jaws at the air in front of the ebony coated girl and taking a step forward. Recruiting her was far behind them now, it wasn't a possibility anymore, so he wasn't gonna withstand with her presence any longer. When the girl turned around to take her leave, and not before making sure that the intruder was far enough to feel comfortable, the silver guard chuckled and turned around to get back to business with a smirk, amused by the way things turned out. |
