Eerie Silence - RIP Fury - November 24, 2021 Tagging @War and maybe @Xynos but AW! Potentially a spar or talk of tactics? Nyra kept mostly to herself, though she did also try to help keep an eye on the children with the other adults of Moonglow. The Fallen One also considered visiting the Glacier wolves, but she wasn't entirely sure about it. The faint scent of someone long gone, or so she thought, was within the border markers. Perhaps Nyra wasn't sure she wanted to discover if Eldritch was still alive... The Warmaiden sat with a slouch a small distance from where the rest of the pack seemed to make their dens, a lingering of longing in her golden hues. Outsider. That was what she was right now. She eased herself to the ground, ears swiveling and twitching as she took in her surroundings. Almost automatically, her intense balefire hues searched for War, if the equally large she-wolf wasn't already close by. RE: Eerie Silence - RIP Xynos - November 26, 2021 The trip was silent and long. When they'd reached their destination, all were quick to settle. Xynos, however, was not. A feeling of peace had not yet found itself present within him. He trusted none — Nyra and War weren't even exceptions. Not too far off from where makeshift dens had been constructed, the man was hunched over broad shoulders. He seemed to be waiting for something. What? Even he didn't know. Dark, gloom eyed traveled. Would someone approach with a task, or even an attempt at a conversation with the rugged looking wolf? The latter was less likely, but possibilities existed. Only seconds passed before view was settled over Nyra who was lain feet away. An aura of distress surrounded her. It could be seen in her eyes. Whether it had been deserved or not, the woman had endured much pain — both physical and mental. Xynos pitied her for it, regardless of how much he wished he didn't. No sense in sitting here watching. He eventually decided to himself. Large paws pushed the wolf upwards. Heavy stride after heavy stride, he neared until he was within tail's reach. He waited for no invitation to sit, doing so promptly. A queen to him she no longer was. What respect was lost would have to be re-earned. Xynos assumed she knew this and would not voice his blunt disregard as ill intent. You seem even less settled in here than I.He began coldly, harshly breathing a half-hearten chuckle. The comment would have been meant to amuse, but he couldn't seem to find a full laugh. Have your wounds improved? I've noticed Moonglow's healers check you often, but that can never always prove that their work is effective. RE: Eerie Silence - RIP Fury - November 26, 2021 Nyra hardly looked up when Xynos joined her. She knew he needed no permission for anything, especially from her. She was no longer a queen, a ruler. They were equals now. Followers of a different cause, striven for by different wolves than what Nyra currently is, and wants to leave behind. To the shadow's words, Nyra hmmed briefly at first, eventually speaking with a lowered tone. "I'm healing well enough, I suppose. The only things that will really help aside from the medicines are time and care." She rested her head upon her paws then, twitching her ears. RE: Eerie Silence - RIP Xynos - November 29, 2021 Time and care. Care by whom? Words desired to be aloud, but he refused to speak them. Did she mean care by her own activity or care by another's giving? The answer was unknown, but it wasn't worth asking. Time will surely help. We seem to be given plenty of it here. While they spent time in the glaciers, rather where they called home, there would be enough time for her to be freed of chore and allow herself to rest. When the hunting begins, be sure to not exert yourself. In all, I would simply say to not join in at all. Aiolos and Kukutux will understand. They dare not push you to do what you cannot. RE: Eerie Silence - RIP Fury - December 01, 2021 EDITED for more realistic paranoia instead of targeted. Thank you <3
The Fallen One listened to Xynos speak without much immediate acknowledgement. Despite this, she was listening. He offered his word on not taking part in the hunting between the Glacier wolves and Moonglow, to which she sighed and raised her head. "As much as I wish I could take part in their hunting, I would only slow everyone down right now. So for the meantime, I will look after the young while everyone who can hunt, does." She mused, golden eyes flowing from him to the rest of the pack. Some beats of silence passed, and Nyra looked to Xynos again. "I'm worried that the mountains have been taken over. I don't know for sure, but...if so, I want them back..." Her voice turned possessive and dark as she spoke of the Sunspire range she and the Saints used to claim. But right now, it wasn't possible to reclaim them, if they were being inhabited. She knew this, and obviously so. The want and the hungry, ravenous paranoia glittered in her intense hues. RE: Eerie Silence - RIP Xynos - December 02, 2021 As little as the act may be, I'm sure they appreciate the help.A feeble attempt to lift her spirit of doubt, but hopefully it was enough. Silence was still, but the words that followed weren't quite what he was expected. Nyra's attitude had changed completely, as had her tone. She spoke of their former home. A deep anger was notable and drew a certain blaze from within him to accompany it. Maybe he hadn't been a Saint long, but the canyons were once his home. Someone stole it. Nyra wanted it back.. and so did he. Pinpointing that built in rage, an unknown growl was belted, dragged from the depths of his vocals. Then we should take it back. The cold and hollow shrill to his tone was chilling. It made his own fur stand on end, no matter the effort he spent trying not to think about it. We have few numbers now, but we don't have to remain that way... Once you've recuperated, we can search for new Saints and build up a strong force to take back what's ours. Those canyons belong to us and no one else. RE: Eerie Silence - RIP Fury - December 02, 2021 Nyra perked her ears and felt a sinister, giddy happiness as Xynos growled his support of her wanting to reclaim their old home. She could tell he wanted it back just as badly as she did. "We don't know for sure that the mountains have been been taken over, but the feeling I'm getting is too strong for me to ignore. We will need to find a scout, a spy, to see if I'm just insane or not. Assuming the mountains ARE claimed in our absence, then yes, we will continue to bide our time here until I am at my best once more. In the meantime, I fully agree. We must begin to gather numbers." Nyra purred. Subconsciously, her lounging posture had started to take on a more regal air. They would make their return in due time. RE: Eerie Silence - RIP Xynos - December 02, 2021 The new posture and expression Nyra put on display showed up that she was on board, even long before she had the chance to verbally reply. At the mention of needing a scout, the man jumped upward to his feet, tail thumping vigorously against his hind limb. I'll gladly fill the roll. I'm not needed here. You have War to look out for you... Besides, the Moonglow wolves are far too consumed in their winter plans to notice my absence. This much was true. None had passed their regards, nor spoken to him. It was if he ceased to exist in their eyes. How would a few days off in Sunspire be any different? RE: Eerie Silence - RIP Fury - December 02, 2021 Nyra's eyes glittered with approval as Xynos threw himself forward to take on the roll she needed to be filled. She was glad he was at her service once more, at least for now. His efforts would be rewarded once she was within power again. "Make sure to completely mask your scent when you go, and use an alias, just in case." She requested. The last thing either of them needed was for him to be found out, or worse, killed. Rising to her own paws, Nyra gave him a look that expressed gratitude in silent fashion. If there was more to be said before he pursued his mission, it was best said now. RE: Eerie Silence - RIP Xynos - December 02, 2021 Nothin' an old puddle of mud can't fix. Most are too stupid to reach past their general nose.He chuffed, half amused by his own spoken words. I'll attempt a return within a day or two. If it takes longer assume I got held up by some circumstance... and at worse, killed. The thought was unsettling, but with the amount of fiery excitement the boiled within him, he didn't even seem bothered by admitting the possible outcome. Offering some form of goodbye — a short dip of his nose — Xynos raced off in the direction that would lead to the canyons. |
