human sadness · pack event - Tuwawi RIP - October 04, 2014

Cat attack :-'( The kidnapping happened "behind the scenes" so this is the aftermath. Feel free to power play a little. Next round is Wednesday October 8th @Danica @Týrr @Hatshepsut @Malachi @Arabella @Jökull @Valtýr @Maera

Screaming children, yowling cats, and the deep bay of her mate was all Tuwawi could absorb as she wheeled through Duskfire's wood with silver eyes wide as dinner plates. Finally the inevitable had happened. Though the Duskfire wolves had done their best to relentlessly peruse the threatening felines, it was not enough to curb their attacks. Though the Sveijarn mother could not know yet, her wrenching heart feared the worst and a deep pit of pitch-black dread strangled her as she ran towards their den. The cunning beasts had hit them where they were weakest, and the smallest oversight had opened a glorious oppertunity for their foes to truly hit them where it would hurt the most.

Shocks of nervous anxiety poisoned Tuwawi's veins as her muscles burned with stress. No terrain - not rocks, nor trees, nor hills - could slow her pursuit. When as the lumber glacier came into view the alpha knew she was nearly home. However, the sharp scent of blood tickled the air, and the fightened cries of her babies propelled her into the final stretch.

Tuwawi flew around the corner just in time to see Njal's strong, platinum figure descend upon a fleeing lynx. His jaws closed upon the animal but it wrenched free, driven by a stronger purpose. Together the enemies careened around the bend and out of sight. Each hair on Tuwawi's body spiked in animosity, her tattered lips rolling into a bitter snarl, as she prepared to buffer any further attacks; but the wails of her children drew the mother into the den to asses what had happened.

The young swarmed to her but the pungent scent of blood nearly deafened Tuwawi to their cries. Her eyes darted between them, red, tawny, and silver... "Lárus?" she called to her son, eyes frantically looking into the dark, "....Lárus.?" She listened, but no stalwart, chubby, golden faced boy appeared from the depths of the burrow. Tuwawi could feel her throat go dry as panic consumed her every fiber. She turned and dashed back out into the failing sun. "Lárus!" she screamed... but there was no answer to her desperate calls.

RE: human sadness · pack event - Danica RIP - October 05, 2014

Danica had been too far away to hear anything but Njal's cry. The mournful, desperate sound was enough to give her an idea. Icy fear rushed through her and she immediately took off towards the source, cursing to high heaven as she went that she was so far away.

She almost barreled into Tuwawi, she was so intent. Skidding to a halt next to the frantic mother, her ears flattened. She had heard her calls, so knew enough to piece together something of what had occurred. The scent of cat was heavy here. Unwilling to admit defeat so easily, she began circling, attempting to pick up a trail. Something , anything, that would allow her to help.

RE: human sadness · pack event - Malachi - October 05, 2014

At first he thought the caterwauls a dream. They startled him awake as most night terrors did, but when Malachi blinked open his bleary eyes, he felt his stomach stir. Something wasn't right: the cries did not fade with the dawn of reality, and now a different chord struck his ears - Njal's deep and threatening bay. Dark fear spiked his fur and the Kalderon scrambled to his paws. His heart raced and he felt his mouth go dry. The lynx. The pups. He didn't need to think any further. Malachi tore toward the territory's heart, every pawstep filled with deep dread. His paws could not carry him fast enough.

Tuwawi's voice rose above the fading noise, desperate wails of her son's name, and Malachi felt his heart churn with a flash of hot anxiety. He tore into the clearing and for a moment froze at the surreal sight before his eyes. He felt the panic in Tuwawi's every note and imagined her children in the den, one pup too short. Pink tongue flashed across his lips and for a heartbeat Malachi froze. This couldn't be happening, not again. His brows knit and he felt his thoughts slipping, but then his eyes lighted upon Danica circling and scouting the clearing, and he found his thoughts plummeting back into reality. Malachi charged to join her, circling her opposite as he strained to find something, anything, over the muddled scent of blood and cat and wolf that hung so heavy on the air. And deep within, an anger began to lick cooly at his pounding heart.

The days for Bella consisted mostly of sleeping long hours, to recover the strength she needed to do her labor as part of the pack, so at the time she heard the dire sound of the Alpha's cry she was laying curled somewhere not to far from the Sveijarn's den. The wrenching barks and cries bolted up the slender yearling up, and she took off running as fast as her weak body permitted. Maybe she wouldn't be of much help, but she couldn't just stay away and not come to aid the Mother and the pups in any way she could.

Her thin limbs didn't allow her to go too fast, so when she got to the clear, Malachi and Danica were already there, scanning the soil with their noses, And the red mother was inside the den, calling out for one of her pups. What took him away? And where was the Father? She quickly rushed to the den entrance, and panting heavily she called, Tuwawi.

Three pups were with her, a silver girl, a tawny boy and Maera, but there was no sight of the fourth pup. Bella's blood was pumping heavily through her veins, she didn't know what to do to help, or if she could help at least, but she was willing to do anything. She didn't say anything else, but waited to see if the fiery alpha gave her any command. Maybe she could watch the children while Tuwawi followed her husband?

RE: human sadness · pack event - Maera - October 06, 2014

yep got inspired :T sorry for the uber long post guys ;o;

Imagination was a doubled edged stick.
On one end it looked like a brush, filled with the power of creating outwordly objects that brought happiness; on the other end there was a needle, one that pierced through your skin and injected terror into your bloodstream in the form of monsters and demons.

Maera was a dreamy girl, who enjoyed tales filled with fantasy and magic. She had often her head stuck in the clouds but never, not even in the terrifying nightmares that struck during stormy night had Maera seen such a hideous creature. To be honest she had never seen the fauna around the Glacier, aside from the pesky bugs, the dying duck momma once brought, and Valtyr winged friend she had never encountered another animal -- not even a mouse.

The sharp features of the monster's face were still fresh on the girl's mind.
Narrow eyes the color of the sun -- with a stare as cold as the night, his beastly legs and paws -- and the razor claws that went with them, his pointed ears, his whiskers and the wicked smirk of hunger that hung on his face as he crawled through the narrow opening of the den. It had been enough to make the small fireball freeze in terror, merely flattening herself to the ground as the feline advanced menacingly through their home. What happened in just a few seconds, went by like eternal minutes to the girl. As she layed defenseless on the cold earthy floor with her eyes tightly shut, her younger brother's cries did not reach her ears. She had entered a state of panic, pure hysteria that bordered delirium. Although she could not see or hear what was hapening around her, her imaginative mind played the scene for her; using to her dismay the most vivid images to portray the lynx standing over her -- his triangular nose hovering above her neck hungrily.

Then after an eternity of shivering in the ground, the buzzing in her ears finally stopped only to be filled with a far more frightening sound. The lynx was gone but so was Larus. She had not yet noticed her pillow-brother's absence, not until the frantic screamings of her mother flooded the den. Maera didn't even have time to feel relieved because of her mother's appereance, a new type of worry filled her chest before she could even utter a word.

Since Maera had not seen the lynx actually take her brother, she did not assume at first that he had been snatched by the feline -- she held the hope that he had been able to slip past the monsters legs. Though her racional side of her brain echoed it was unlikely she stumbled to the mouth of the den, her shaky knees struggling to hold her steady while she searched for any traces of the round-bellied boy.

But there were none.
Her eyes traced the ground, finding nothing but a single drop of crimson in the ground. Her eyes lingered on the blood drop until her lungs could not provide any more air for her stranged heart. She turned back to the den, falling into the floor as she walked in again; her legs had given up on her and her eyes were glazed by tears -- but not even in the scariest times were her shouts silenced.
