the good life - Eljay - February 23, 2022

maybe @Cinna since our characters haven't properly met yet? :D but this is AW, tags are for reference.

Ukulele had left the pack. She hadn't seemed like the kind of 'stayer', anyway; she seemed used to a rough life, and Brecheliant could've offered her a respite from that. It seemed almost like she had intended to leave, anyway; like it was only a matter of time, and now that winter was slowly drawing to an end, it was time for her to get going. Eljay didn't understand a lifestyle like that, because it was so far from himself, but he'd learned to accept it over time. Every wolf had different ways to go about life, after all. The years had taught Eljay to accept that.

Speaking of, the offer of Akashingo lay heavy on his mind, too. He wondered if @Lilitu was truly considering to leave Brecheliant to find a life elsewhere, like that. It was so foreign to Eljay, it was hard for him to wrap his mind around.

@Hymnal, meanwhile, was showing great interest and promise in the field of medicine and Eljay had been taking her to scout out the herds a time or two, as well. She was very patient and willing to learn; both great traits for the trades she had picked (which were incidentally the same that he had pursued in his life, though hunting'd gotten to the background when he focused more on the caretaking duties). He was very proud of her; of all of his children, in fact, and how well they'd gotten out of the strenuous first months of their lives.

Today, Eljay wandered through the Caldera, by the lakeside, daydreaming with a gentle smile on his face. It was not so strange to be back here anymore, now. He enjoyed it, and already was looking forward to when there'd be children in the spring, growing up where he had.
