While I’m falling apart - Alduin - April 03, 2022

@Noir <3

It’s early in the morning when Alduin sets out today. The wind carries whispers of sweet nothings as it rushes past spotted ears. It jostles his fur as he goes, but serves to dry his pelt faster from his swim to the mainland.

So he walks along the beach scouting the water for any type of food and what does he eventually see? A seal. It’s chewing on a crab it found and Alduin sees a good opportunity for a meal.

He stalks towards it, not bothering to keep himself low for there isn’t any coverage on the beach anyhow, but he is sure to keep quiet. When he pounces, he kicks up sand in his attempt to close the distance between him and his prey as quick as possible. Water splashes as he rushes into the shallows and already the seal is attempting to run off into the deeper waters. Thankfully Alduin is faster and latches strong jaws onto the blubber of its neck.

A growl rumbles deep in his throat as he attempts to drag it further into the sand, even as it struggles for its life. But Alduin knows he will still come out victorious.

RE: While I’m falling apart - Noir - April 07, 2022

Noir was very keen about Blackwater - this was why she often scouted the coastline - they intrigued her so, but she knew her place was here, with her mistress and her family. She would help raise the new generation of Cruors, and Sacrarium would flourish with life. Even so, when she finds a lone male on the cape, hunting a seal, she can't help but be curious. He smelled of the sea, and she wondered whether he, too, belonged to Blackwater; scenting the air gave her no information, as the smell of salt hung heavy on his pelt, masking any others. As she approached, Noir gave a soft woof, her head tilted to one side in curiosity - would he allow her to approach, or would he guard his kill?

RE: While I’m falling apart - Alduin - April 09, 2022

At first he doesn’t notice his upcoming company, too busy fighting the seals concealed strength in a battle of life and death — for the seal at least. He is successful dragging it further onto the beach. Sand kicks up and water splashes wildly about them as the struggle continues.

Blood pools in his mouth as he settles his limbs in a stable position and shakes. Blood blooms in his mouth then and a sickening crack sounds out as he manages to break the seals strong neck with one particularly rough shake. It’s not a big seal though, so perhaps that is why he has won his victory so quickly, but definitely not effortlessly.

When he drops the animal’s twitching body to the sand he stands over it with a bloody maw dripping with salvia and crimson. His purple-black tongue falls from dangerous jaws — flat and panting as he catches his breath from the exertion of battle.

That’s when he hears a soft, cooing woof drift through the wind and into spotted auds. They shift and he turns his head to spot a dark stranger with hints of agouti or cream in their fur. The coffee undertones shine easily through the morning light, but the thing he notices most is their size. Very, very small in comparison to him, he could snap them like a twig, but they’d probably be able to outrun him before he even gets to the good part.

He continues eyeing them for another second or two. Noticing their skeletal frame and the underfed arch of their ribs. His nostrils flare in an attempt to catch a scent, but is met with nothing but the sour smell of the salty, sea air. He must be downwind.

He thinks of having pity on them and offering some of the seal he most definitely won’t be able to eat entirely himself, but he is a selfish, brash, and wretched creature and he fights with himself. Only to cave a few moments later…

He grabs the seal by the neck once more and silently drags it a couple feet towards them before dropping it once more. Jutting out his chin in a gesture to have some he eyes them down with his signature scowling expression. His eyes do hold a touch of interest though. How would they react? Would they be grateful? Perhaps they’d thank him. Perhaps they’d blow him off and deny the offering. All he can do is wait and see.

So sorry for the wait, I don't front very frequently. I am prioritizing this thread, though <3

It was a beautiful display of carnage, and Noir found herself unable to look away from him. He was a giant to her, and she'd not seen him before. Then, he brings his kill closer to her, gesturing for her to move forward. Noir slinks towards him, a small smirk accompanying a mischievous gaze. She looks down to the kill, back to him, and then she breathes, "What a specimen you are, fine Sir." She offers him a bow, then slowly lifts her muzzle up to scent at his chest. All she can smell now is adrenaline, and the cruor of a successful hunt. She is drawn to him, much more so than the dead seal.

Sorry for the wait too, my new job is killing me :’)

Intelligently enough she does not move forward until he offers. Alduin suspects that no one in their right mind would approach someone like him unless invited, especially with a fresh kill. It’s clear the hellhound hasn’t missed many meals though. He’s thick with a touch of fat and a lot of bulking muscle, unlike the much thinner, malnourished wolf before him.

Yet, when they do approach, it’s a slinking walk with a mysterious glint in their eye. Alduin watches them the entirety of the way. Head level with his shoulders once more, he waits, and when they’re close enough his nostrils flare once more and find out that this wolf is female. It would explain their slender, curved appearance despite the malnutrition, but he has seen males with the same features so one can never really know until it’s obvious.

She stands before him, Alduin stares down at her while she glances at the kill, but quickly turns her gaze on him, obviously looking him up and down.

What a specimen you are, fine sir.

He gets that a lot, though usually it’s not as complimentary. Even so, it doesn’t seem like she is afraid of him, for she’s lifting her head to sniff his chest. Alduin doesn’t move, he merely tucks his chin a bit to follow her as she gets closer to him.

So Alduin hums low in his throat, finally lowering his head and taking a brave, heavy step towards her, effectively invading her face. His eyes meet her own as he slinks over to sniff at her nape and shoulders. His wet, leathery nose must barely tickles the tips of the thick hair there and it bristles when his breath hits her.

“Are you not afraid?” He asks in that rasping, devilish voice. “If not, maybe you should be.” He hums tantalizingly.
