Third Time's the Charm? - Siptah - April 07, 2022 Tags are for reference. Hoping for @Ramesses but honestly if anyone else wants to stop my boy, go for it lol. Set at like 6 AM?
Siptah had waited one week, and he would wait no longer. It was early in the morning as he snuck away from @Satsu's side yet again. His sisters did not seem as interested in their father as the Prince was, so he didn't bother trying to rouse them. Instead, he tiptoed from Satsu's chambers, down the hall, checking to see if the coast was clear. He didn't see anyone... he was hoping he'd gotten up early enough that most everyone else would be asleep. His plan had been to barge right into Ramesses' room, but for the third time, he found himself standing just outside the doorway, his heart hammering in his chest. What would happen if he got caught, a third time? What if this angered his father? Siptah was too young to understand that he was quickly becoming a nuisance to the majority of the palace, too young to understand most things, really. All he wanted was to meet the man his mother spoke of. He was a King! The Pharaoh, the rule of Akashingo! Siptah, feeling as if his heart was about to jump out of his chest, peered around the door; it was very dark inside. RE: Third Time's the Charm? - Akhtar - April 07, 2022 He had spent the last of the cold, dark months wrapped in the inviting warmth of the home he had found among the Akashingo wolves. He combed out his pelt every morning, and woke to welcome the sun. Today, however, he was a bit muzzy headed due to some…not infrequent indulging on things unfit for most priests worth their salt. It was as such he rounded the corner just in time to see a small, stumbling little form peering into the room of Pharoah. Why, that wouldn’t do. Who knew what the child would see in there! Good morning, young prince.Came his gentle demure. He assumed this one was the prince, he had heard about his escapist tendencies. Let us not wake your lord father yet. Come, welcome the sun with me. RE: Third Time's the Charm? - Ramesses - April 07, 2022 lmaoo a cameooo
he had just dismissed belen from her most pleasant of attending; she had laughed and flounced away, somehow failing to notice the boy waiting in the shadows. but ramesses' spine prickled from the awareness of being watched.
this late there was only a single shaft of moonlight glowing down into his throne-room. the long darkness was velveteen. eventually it would spin to the gold of early morning and he would retire to chase dreams in his sleep. it was not a fellahin who crouched there; and not a noble in akashingo would have waited so long to announce themselves. pharaoh half-turned toward his doorway. and then he heard the voice of the priest, and relented. whatever happened beyond his chambers did not matter; another would tend it. pharaoh crossed to his couch and was soon asleep in its embrace. RE: Third Time's the Charm? - Siptah - April 07, 2022 Siptah nearly refused - there was movement within his father's chambers, and he yearned to call out, but, something held his tongue. He was disappointed; the Prince turned from his father's room, and instead turned to follow Akhtar outside; he'd not yet been outside yet. As they walked, Siptah asked dispiritedly, "How come he hasn't seen me yet?"
RE: Third Time's the Charm? - Akhtar - April 07, 2022 The pup was a cute child, Akhtar relented to himself, not enough for him to wish for his own or coo or coddle. He gave a simple shrug. I cannot say, prince. Your father is a very busy man, with many duties, who must care for subjects and queen without rest. Akhtar knew that Ramesses could not care less about the state of Akashingo, as long as it made him look good. He is probably sleeping. But I must welcome Khepri, and the new day. RE: Third Time's the Charm? - Siptah - April 07, 2022 The Prince bristled at the priest's words - his father hadn't even seen his mother, either. He would know, since he'd been stuck with her and his sisters this entire time. He argued, "He hasn't seen mom either." Could he really be so busy? Then, he questioned, "Who's Khepri?" As they emerged into the morning light, Siptah blinked rapidly; his eyes were so used to the tunnels, it took them a second to adjust. But once they did, he was met with a stunning view of the mesa. He gasped quietly, trying to take it all in.
RE: Third Time's the Charm? - Akhtar - April 07, 2022 To that, the priest grimaced. Oh dear. I’m sure he will soon.He soothed, tail bobbing behind him as he began to lead his charge towards the altar. Khepri is the morning sun, the morning incarnation of Ra. Ra is the sun, he is Khepri in the morning, Ra at noon, and Atum at the evening. We welcome him and his sun boat with morning prayer. The saluki explained, looking down at the pup. RE: Third Time's the Charm? - Siptah - April 08, 2022 Prayer sounded much less fun than Belen's racing game with the bones, but Siptah didn't complain; this was the first adult to actually take him outside. He listened quietly as the priest told him of the Sun God - or, was it just the sun? He wasn't quite sure yet. Perhaps naively, he asked, "What do you get for praying?"
