Scouting - Vagabond - April 19, 2022 Today Avery followed the river further than he normally would, he knew from experience that it would lead him straight to the ocean. He felt comfortable leaving their territory given their lack of visitors. Perhaps their bleeding forest had been the perfect warning to outsiders not to intrude, or maybe they had just gotten very very lucky. Whatever it may be, he was grateful. He took the opportunity today to enjoy the coast. He began to feel sand beneath his paws the feeling completely foreign to him and slowing him slightly, but it wasn't entirely unpleasant. Perhaps I'll meet someone new? He couldn't help wondering to himself. While he had never been one for diplomacy, he knew Sacrarium could use allies. RE: Scouting - Fennec - April 23, 2022 Wherever she and Figment decided to go next, Fennec knew that she wanted to leave the coast behind her. What would have been beautiful to about any other wolf was mostly a nightmare for her, but at least near the river the sand gave way to dirt. She'd followed it a ways, exploring her way north from where she and her brother had hunkered down for the night. She figured that maybe she could scavenge something to bring back for breakfast, though she knew if she was gone long he'd probably show up and ruin the surprise. Call it a bit of a peace offering for being semi shitty company lately? So far, nothing was showing up. She nosed the weeds near the edge and caught no trace of anything, though when she lifted her head, the wind brought the scent of another wolf. Fennec spun defensively and faced into it with her ears pinned back, but she didn't make any noise yet. She just stood there, listening, waiting to see who it was she'd stumbled on and where they were heading. They weren't familiar to her, but beyond that, she couldn't glean much information yet. RE: Scouting - Vagabond - April 24, 2022 Avery is now Vagabond!
It wasn't too long before another wolf came into sight. She seemed startled and immediately took a defensive position. He wondered if she was plagued with nightmares like their pack's Mystic, or if something else troubled her. He noticed her milky colored eyes then. Perhaps her vision was impaired? He immediately spoke before anything else, making his presence known, trying to ease the stranger's wariness. "Sorry for startling you, I'm Vagabond. I live just up the river with my pack, you are safe from me at the moment." Violante is definitely better at this. He couldn't help thinking to himself. RE: Scouting - Fennec - April 26, 2022 \o/ excited to have the chance to thread with you finally! (Deffo plan to snag a few more with the others too, as I can!)
For the moment. At least I know you are probably honest.Fennec retorted once the other wolf has spoken. She did relax somewhat, but she was never not on edge when she was alone in unfamiliar territory. She didn't have the luxury of letting her guard down. He sounded harmless enough, and he'd approached slowly. She listened as he stopped a distance away and, automatically, calculated the distance and direction in her mind. On the coast? She wasn't sure how 'up the river' he was talking. My brother and I have been traveling around here. But we don't plan on sticking around. If he was recruiting, and his pack was coastal, she definitely wouldn't be letting Fig know. Despite claiming to have zero opinions, she was not about to make a home there. If he wasn't recruiting, then she figured letting him know she was just passing through made her less of a threat. Might as well stretch that "moment" out as much as she could. RE: Scouting - Vagabond - April 26, 2022 Thanks for giving me a chance, its my system's first time threading with someone other than our partner and their thread partners! Also your thread partner Fig is totally welcome to join this thread too!
He clumsily lowered himself on his three legs to lay down, making it clear that he too had a very obvious impairment. Knowing that she only traveled with one other brought him some peace of mind, and he felt comfortable speaking to her further "Ravensblood Forest is where we call home. My mate leads us." He said this proudly, holding his shoulders high. Although it hadn't been long, and with his name change still so recent, he felt immense pride when he spoke of his home, and of his pack. "Of course if you're only travelling this information will be of no use to you." Vagabond chuckled vainly. RE: Scouting - Fennec - May 12, 2022 <3!
She noted the oddness to his gait distractedly, but didn't bother to put any meaning on it. She was used to her mother's stilted walk and assumed it to be a more extreme version of that. The part of her that still considered him a potential threat made sure to take note of it as a weakness to exploit if things came to a fight, but the way he spoke and the tone of his voice were pretty big indicators she wouldn't need to use it. My mate leads us. Lucky her. I suppose not. But it's nice to hear that you support her. Not all mateships are like that.It was definitely a pointed remark, but she was more sad than anything when she said it. Bronco had supported her well in the beginning, and even at times later on. Yet all she could remember nowadays were the accusations he'd levied against her and they echoed again as she heard this man speak so fondly of his own relationship. They really had been doomed from the start. I was going to lead a place, but it didn't work out. I don't think joining up anywhere is the right move for me right now.She might as well just be flat out honest. RE: Scouting - Vagabond - May 22, 2022 "I'd be a fool not to support her, she's in this mess because of me after all." He responded quickly. She hadn't needed to prove herself to him, she had done more than that by leaving her family to be with him, and if he hadn't of asked her to leave with him her family wouldn't be after her. "I enjoyed the loner life too once." Vagabond chucked wryly, imagining it now seemed preposterous to him now that he had his family. He stood up with a chuckle "But I ought to be heading back to my pups, they're likely driving someone mad by now. Follow the river to the Sequoia Forest if you ever wish to speak more, I have enjoyed your company. Just, make sure you announce yourself first." RE: Scouting - Fennec - June 02, 2022 last for me! Esp since we have the new one <3 ty for this!
The slight dig at her own relationship that she'd delivered, and the easy way he answered, only made her feel worse. That was all she'd wanted and, apparently, it was too much to ask. She prickled with irritation and some other, harder to pin down emotion. Yeah. Sure. She knew that she wouldn't be back. Maybe Fig wanted a pack but she had zero plans of joining one right now and, as time went on, she was realizing more and more that their paths might need to diverge. Now settled firmly in a mood, Fennec turned around and left without much more of a goodbye than that. He'd been nice enough but any company was going to be lacking these days. She hoped his mate knew how lucky she was - and how fucked this world was for certain others. |
