Hymnal trotted into the family den with three fish in her jaws. She had spent all morning catching them, and she was excited to bring them to her family.
Setting the food down, she moved over to her little brothers and sisters. She looked over them lovingly. They changed every day, and she couldn't wait to see how their little personalities would form.
She settled down on the ground near them and waited to see what they would do today.

Aiden was not very loud, but he was very present nonetheless. He was the stalwart guardian, the peacekeeper; and, of course, in order to hone these skills he also needed to wrestle his siblings every once in a while.
He'd been busy wrestling his father's paw, but when his father shifted his attention, Aiden did too. Sightless little head lifted and he let out a single, demanding mewl in the direction of the distraction.

Hymnal smiled at her father's praise. She nodded.
Yeah; it's what I've been doing all morning,she explained.
I was hoping mama would like them.She settled down near the babies.
I'm glad she has all of us to help her,she answered. Hopefully it would mean that her mom would recover without any issues.
Aiden was looking at her then, emitting an adorable sound. Hymnal reached down and nuzzled him.
Hello to you too, baby brother,she said softly.
And when Chickadee seemed to demand the same, Hymnal reached over and nuzzled her too.

It was nice to hear that Hymnal seemed equally eager to help as Eljay was thankful for her help.
She's sleeping right now, but I'm sure she'd love some food when she gets up.He smiled up at Hymnal. Aiden had meanwhile stopped gnawing at his father's paw and Eljay watched as Hymnal greeted both him and Chickadee, who both wanted some attention from their big sister as she came around.
Hard to imagine you were this small only about a year ago,Eljay said as he watched his daughter and the reality of how grown up she was suddenly hit him. He did not remember precisely when they were born, but it must've been somewhere around a year ago.

Not long after his demanding mewl he achieved the attention he desired. Aiden let out another mewl as he was nuzzled and he felt the soft reverberation of Hymnal's voice so closeby, recognising her as his sister instantly. Aiden inhaled deeply her scent and mewled against her pelt, content for a moment.
She went away after that, and Aiden was still for a moment, as though he had not quite decided what to do next.
