Say goodbye to the setting sun. - Sanja - May 15, 2022

At the heel of Everfall, with rain darkening the horizon and swallowing the tree tops with mist, lingered the wolf.

There was an emptiness, a hollowing, perpetrated by the grim setting. She roamed beneath the partial cover of splayed branches. It wasn't so bad - Sanja quite enjoyed the rain actually - although it left her pining for home.

The wolf began to gather little objects as she roamed the forest and always returned to the same sheltered patchwork of cover, daintily adding to the pile with utmost care. Throughout her visits to and fro, the rain only worsened.

Void stood in the shadows of a tree, watching the seemingly
strange wolf pace back and forth, collecting things..? He didn't
know what she was doing, so he barked into the emptiness to
get her attention.

RE: Say goodbye to the setting sun. - Sanja - May 19, 2022

The clarion call of an errant beast shot through the rain and the dark. The wolf paused. Her expression shifting between surprise and concern. The rainy haze mitigated any chance that she might catch sight of the stranger, while the increasing frequency of inclement weather made every sound suspect, every scent skewed.

Er einhver þarna úti? For now, all that was carefully gathered was put out of her mind; this could be a threat, and so she would remain alert.

"Yeah." Void barked suspiciously. "What are you doing...?" The great
black male asked, genuinely wondering what the odd shewolf was doing,
enough to put off his usual aggression.

You really don't need to quote my posts!

The stranger partially emerged from the shadow. They looked to be built of vantablack; some beast of stygian make which the woman could hardly see in the haze of the rain.
He was focused on her and speaking directly, but in a language not familiar. Her hackles began to spike along the ridge of her shoulders.
Haltu þig í burtu!
Her voice carried the warning, and soon her body showed all the signs of pitched nerves to be expected of a lone wolf faced by potential danger.

Realizing that the wolf did not speak his language, Void searched his mind and recognized the tongue she was speaking. He relaxed his posture and replied calmly "Mér stafar engin ógn af.", with a dip of his head.

The quotes are really unnecessary!
The man spoke clearly to her.
It was not such a stretch to find others speaking with the tongue of her parents, but it was jarring to hear it nonetheless. The wolf had spent weeks with only herself as company; she hesitated.
Ætlastu til að ég treysti orði ókunnugs manns? She stepped back, her eyes lingering upon the man's face, shimmering softly with what could only be described as ire.
Hvað viltu?
Men only ever had limited desires—or so her parents taught her.

RE: Say goodbye to the setting sun. - Void - May 24, 2022

apologies, the last rp site I was on had you quote every post, and I'm just so used to hitting the reply button below your post, not at the bottom of the page. I will try to remember.

"Ég býst ekki við að þú takir orð mín, en ég gæti vona að þú myndir gera það. Ég get stundum verið banvænn úlfur, en ákveðnir úlfar, eins og þú, gefa mér þá tilfinningu að ég þurfi ekki að vera það. Í allur heiðarleiki, ég vil bara félaga, jafnvel þótt það sé bara platónskur vinur.“

Void said to the shewolf, holding a less dominant and more relaxed pose, hoping she wouldn't attack him.

RE: Say goodbye to the setting sun. - Sanja - May 25, 2022

This man was all talk.
The wolf had never seen another quite like him. A stygian giant. Lantern-lit eyes that refused to look away from her. It was unnerving to experience the various physical cues; Sanja was unsettled, and the feeling grew the longer the man was in her vicinity.
He wasn't the outsider—she was. Her parents had made sure of that. This was not a wolf she knew or could trust to any degree, no matter what he said. Perhaps because of what he said; insisting that he was a nice guy after companionship and nothing more.
Mother often warned her of these types.
She did not reply to him, but let her slanting ears and quick-stepped reversal speak for her: I'm leaving. She may have been a lone wolf but Sanja was not lonely nor in pursuit of anything he might offer.

RE: Say goodbye to the setting sun. - Void - May 25, 2022

Void growled. He wasn't going to let this wolf leave peaceful. Spitting out something angry in his own tongue, not hers, Void snarled at his opponent.

(feel free to have her just run if you don't want to start a battle)

RE: Say goodbye to the setting sun. - Sanja - May 25, 2022

I don't mind a fight. We could both roll a 1D2 (1 is hit, 2 is miss; a hit takes 1HP away) and see what happens? Start with 10HP?

No sooner had Sanja begun to step away, that the man proved her fears true. His teeth flashed and he began to growl; though the sound was more like white-noise for one of her ears, it was his body language that was unmistakable.
He muttered something in a language she did not know. A threat, perhaps — or a diffusion of his exasperation. Either way, Sanja was turning away from him to attempt escape before harm could befall her.
Seeing that there was a size difference between them, the woman knew she had to keep out of his reach or else. Mother and father were right; those outside the family cannot be trusted!

RE: Say goodbye to the setting sun. - Void - May 26, 2022

Ok that should be fine
-
Made a thread and rolled, got a two (the format always messes up for me but I think it works) so that'll be a miss. Here's the Thread

Void lunged in with a snap to her throat but the shewolf was out of range and he didn't aim his strike accordingly. He growled at his miss and prepared himself for her counter.

Void's HP- 10/10

RE: Say goodbye to the setting sun. - Sanja - June 02, 2022

The volatile man lunged as Sanja turned to run, missing her throat but coming close to grappling at her shoulder or her hip as she bolted away from him.
There was no reason to stick around. He clearly meant her harm. Sanja should have known better than to interface with someone outside of her family; this was a powerful lesson for her.
She wouldn't retaliate. It was safer to rely on her speed and the spike in adrenaline to fuel her away in to the dark.

Fading!
