The ravine.

Through the marsh — he took his fine time there, keen to muck his scent — and eventually to the glacier.

It was empty. A wasteland of a previous home, he could tell in the way the land had been used. Old hunting trails that had gone stale and herbal dens faded of their scents, dried leaves the only remnants. He knew not if his mysterious woman (@Sanja) had any intentions of trailing him.

For the time, he found great relief in being alone. An odd thing.

there was a long-left tula here, its once-denizens now reindeer stalking draugr or taken by tröll to clean their deep-homes and make love to their cavelike wives five at a time.

she slithered out a narrow denmouth and stretched her twig body so that each rib had individual character. red eyes were closed for the action, and when they opened accompanied by smacking of lips they saw a mudman standing out in the open.

ears were erect and head put to an inquisitive tilt, blinking at the creature.

Something stirred from the depths of the glacier.

A pathetic figure. A woman small and frail.

At once, he could write her off. Certainly the taiga would kill her with bones so visible. She would be nothing but décor among the glacier's frigidness.

Yet still he prowled near her, closer and closer.

her tail flicked in amusement at his approach. the pure svart of her being drew him in, like crow to a bloated body. the jester stood still.

when he was near enough, she made a small lunge at him, and a weak snap of teeth. the ravn retreated, laughing, twirled around herself and dropped onto the ground, kicking her legs in mirth at his reaction - or complete lack of it.

either way she'd find hilarity in it.

All at once.

Madness.

Avicus had said the word before and it had lodged into his brain, always on lookout for it now. Not everybody, even if hunter or warrior, could be welcomed so near his home if they displayed it.

He became a blossoming flower of death, angry prickles in the form of oak fur. His tail a banner of war as he exposed his teeth in warning. Would she test him with her madness?

his teeth made of fishribs revealed themselves, tinged with yellow. she showed him her pure wingbones in a grin.

"did yu kill dhem?" with head and tail she encompassed the whole of the abandoned tula. hel's eyes shone. "ahnd vhy?"

"Did yu kill dhem?"

His gaze sharpened.

Kill? Did she wondered if he would kill her or if he had killed before?

"Ahnd vhy?"

He would not humor her accusations and insane ramblings. He would lunge closer with a rankling snarl, a final warning before he would dare try to puncture her with teeth. Her meat would be of no use, but the fur could be a nice addition for the children.
