the allegory of the cave - Noatak - June 19, 2022

Private now except for if parents want to join to like, control the pups or whatever

Noatak sat at the den entrance and stared out at the world, blinking in the sunlight. Her ears had recently opened and sounds were clear now. It made her more curious about the world around her, something she had not shown much interest in before. She could feel wind on her face and hear the distant sounds of others nearby. Dare she take a step and make her way outside?

”Wah-TAH!”

Out of all her siblings, this one had the easiest name for her to grasp. She didn’t have the pronunciation down pat, but she’d begun imitating a few words her parents said, and this was one of the easiest ones. She pattered over to her sister, who was near the mouth of the den, gazing out into the light.

But going out of the den? That was not allowed. Had Raelle been so close to the threshold, Lilia might have just “accidentally” shoved her out, just to get her in trouble. But she had no bad feelings toward Noatak, so she simply approached and peered over her sister’s pale shoulder.

”Nooo,” She cooed softly, as if as a warning. She knew the word, and what it meant. It was a disappointing word, a word which- if unheeded- might lead to being physically taken away from whatever the “No” was. Still- she was curious to see if her sister would listen, or break the rules.

sorry for the wait. I'm not great at pup posts so I'm like streeeetching things out while praying that Noatak ages faster lmao. Dice roll emotion: Joyful.

The sound of her sister's voice immediately distracted her away from the cave exit, and she turned to face Lilia. "Llllll..." she began, attempting to say her sister's name. "Lllll... Lil!" When Lilia's soft warning came about not leaving the den, Noatak wagged her tiny tail and stumble-walked away from the exit, tumbling right over to her sister. "Haaa... Hi!"

Noatak didn’t seem set on going against Lilia’s warning. She felt a bit disgruntled; she would have enjoyed seeing Noatak fumble out and into the open so that she could rattle on her fair sister.

But instead, Noatak addressed her, turning toward her with a grin and trundled in her direction. Lilia, however, did not want to be stepped on, chewed on, piddled on or anything. She backed up but not fast enough- and let out a frustrated mess when Noatak playfully landed on her.

Never satisfied unless she was miserable, Lilia uttered a piercing squeal and began to wriggle herself out from under her sibling.
