Keep Going - Cinna - June 20, 2022
Cinna had been wandering for quite some time now, almost two seasons. She had matured, and she had kept to herself during her heat. Now, she set off in search of... what, she wasn't sure. Part of her longed for the familiarity of Brecheliant, and another part of her wanted to keep travelling. The girl — no, woman, let out a lonely call. Perhaps she could get advice from a stranger?

Aquarius was wandering on his own when he heard a lonely call from what sounded like a young women. He tasted the air, tracking her scent. He made sure to approach her slowly, since his size could scare someone. "Hey there, you alright?" He asked softly, hoping to show his kind personality from his first words to her. "I heard your call, and I'm also on my own. We could walk together if you want..." He asked tentatively.

A male larger than her approached, and Cinna eyed him, offering a tentative smile. "Um... hello, I'm Cinna," she introduced herself softly, then added, "We could walk, if you want... I've just been struggling with a decision lately..." Cinna trailed off, frowning. "I was actually hoping for some advice?" The words came out a question, and her ears angled back. She knew what she ought to do, but she feared actually doing it.

Cinna walked beside the male, quiet for a moment. When she spoke, her tone was uncertain, indecisive. "I've been away from home a long time... I found a nice pack that took me in, and... then I just left." She sighed, ears angling back again. She glanced at the male, telling him, "I think I want to go back, but... I guess I'm afraid of what my leader might say..." Teya had been so kind to her, and she had repaid that kindness by disappearing. She felt horrible.

Aquarius thought about this for a moment. "It depends." He told Cinna. "Depends
what your pack was like. Some packs that I've heard of can have
serious punishments for wolves who leave, especially if you had recently joined.
So my questions are, had you only been in the pack for a short while, and what
were they like?" Aquarius asked.

Brecheliant had been welcoming, and kind. They had all been close to one another, and while she'd never gotten close with any of them besides Teya, she hoped they would still be welcoming, were she to come back. She told Aquarius, "They were... really nice. My alpha was teaching me how to hunt." She sighed, continuing, "I was only there a couple months at most, but they took me in in the middle of winter." Didn't that count for something?
With her siblings nowhere to be found, she was well and truly alone. Brecheliant had been all she'd had. Quietly, she said, "Maybe I should go back..."

"its up to you, but I would suggest going back. Bring prey as an offering or something." Aquarius suggested, giving his opinion. "If they reject you, you can always find me and we could travel together." He said with a smile.

Cinna nodded, frowning in thought. "I... suppose that is a good idea." A gift, and a sincere apology. Yeah, that had to be good enough. Cinna exhaled slowly, letting relief wash over her — it had been a good idea, she thought, to seek counsel from a stranger. She told Aquarius, "I'm sure you could come too, if you wanted."

"I will accompany you when you approach your pack, if you wish, but I have no interest in joining. My heart leads me to create my own pack." Aquarius told her with a small smile.

Cinna loosed a breathy chuckle and she stammered, "O-oh, no, never mind then." There was no need for an escort, especially if he didn't want to join. "Um... good luck with your pack, though. Where are you thinking of settling?" Maybe she could visit, in the future.

"I am not sure yet, maybe around here, since I don't think there are any packs in these Flatlands." Aquarius told her. "Safe travels Cinna, perhaps we will run into each other again. Goodluck with your pack." He added.
With that he dipped his head and started to walk back to where he was currently living.

Cinna nodded, and she watched him as he left. He had helped her, and she would remember him. But for now, she would focus on returning to Brecheliant. To home. Cinna felt her chest constrict, and thought this was the right choice.
