adicio - Germanicus - June 28, 2022 the boys were becoming more honed.
the girls he hoped were beginning to seek out teachings from around the pack. today he had them on the edge of the forest once more. and this time his paw pinned down a hare. "this animal must be killed. you must learn the points of its throat and where best to cut." he easily rolled the animal to its back, exposing its vulnerable body. they both had shown an early penchant for hunting he wished to encourage. RE: adicio - Valiria - July 03, 2022 Her father’s words stirred in her ears, but Valiria did not take action right away. She studied the hare with a focused, curious stare, listening to and breathing in its fear and panic. It wasn’t that she was afraid—not at all. She was a born hunter and instinct told her there was nothing to fear in this most natural of things. Her growing mind simply longed to learn, understand, and experience. This is why she so enjoyed her trips with her father. Always did he bring them something new to experience. After a moment, she lifted her eyes up to his and canted her head lightly to one side, a silent request to see what happened next. RE: adicio - Alivia - July 04, 2022 This animal must be killed. Alivia stepped forward, ready to volunteer. She stopped in her tracks when her father flipped the animal, which she hadn't been expecting. Its strong rear legs pumped furiously in the air, searching for purchase, and it's eyes were wide with fear. Alivia's little heart pounded, and she looked up at her father questioningly. "Why's it the best?" Dead was dead, wasn't it? Why was one method of killing considered best? RE: adicio - Germanicus - July 05, 2022 valiria was ready. alivia had questions.
it seemed to be the growth of their personalities. "one day you may be a soldier." germanicus privately did not care for the notion of either his tiny daughters joining the ranks as auxillia. but he knew this thinking to be rigid and unfair. "if you are a soldier, then one day you might also fight other wolves. we are not rabbits but their bodies are able to teach us such points." he gestured to the thick pulse of blood in its throat and the other in inner thigh. "prey may be dispatched in any way you see fit but the goal is to minimize suffering and maximize what you may eat. in the same way, learning to kill efficiently will also teach you to strike with the same essence." he looked between them, studying alivia a moment longer. RE: adicio - Valiria - July 07, 2022 Liri glanced briefly at her sister, listening silently to the question she asked. It wasn't something she herself had thought to wonder, but now she looked with interest to Germanicus for the answer. He supplied it in short order, sparking her interest even further in several ways. Mostly, in her imagination. She was a soldier. Valiria straightened a little and lifted her chin, allowing a small grin to stretch across her lips. She knew about soldiers--you couldn't grow up in Mereo and not know about them. It had never occurred to her before that she could be one, though. The idea was a thrilling one to her young imagination. She could be like her daddy! "Can I try?" she asked in her small, musical voice. Her eyes widened slightly as she said it, almost as though she had surprised herself with the request. She stared at the rabbit eagerly, her heart now pounding with adrenaline and nerves. RE: adicio - Germanicus - July 16, 2022 would u like to continue this one or wrap it for a new one? im game either way! <3
germanicus nodded at valiria and brought alivia to his side.
today they would allow her sister the active knowledge. he and she would observe. germanicus found it intriguing that both his daughters seemed to be apt for the hunt. he would encourage that in the months to come. he wondered if their interest now might lend them as good soldiers. the imperator also mused upon ruenna and how she would feel if all four of their brood chose to follow in their father's footsteps. the musing did not change his face. he looked warmly at valiria and waited. |
