Fowl - Cinna - June 29, 2022

Hoping for a hunter thread!

Cinna stalked a quail through the grasses, trying her best to stay quiet. She was closer to Brecheliant now, and this, she hoped, would be her gift that she brought back, along with an apology, of course. She had two reasons for leaving — one had been to look for her siblings, and the other had been her heat. She had been uncomfortable going through that change, so she'd left to be alone.

Cinna stepped forward, angling her ears back. The bird paused, and looked around; the huntress waited, holding her breath.

I hope it's okay to take this I am trying to build up Rodyn's trades. Is she in heat? If so I will mention it after words.

Once again Rodyn found himself a days walk from his home. He was on the game trail again. He was enjoying his new found purpose for hunting. He would help build his new found family, perhaps save some of the furs for a future wife and to make his own cave warm for winter.

He came across a female also on the game trail. He didn't get to close to her at first, realizing she was about to grab a bird. He stood still, quivering in anticipation. Wondering if she would be intersted in a hunt afterwards.

No, she is not in heat, and of course it's okay to take it!

On the horizon, another wolf appeared, and Cinna spared him a half-glance, giving him a nervous dip of her muzzle before returning her focus on the bird before her. It sensed something was amiss, and it turned to stare, right at Cinna. She didn't dare move. A moment passed, then another, and another. The bird turned away. Cinna bolted for it.

Okay the first part of your post I was like wait did i miss that. Thank you :)

Rodyn saw the bird move and he jumped into action to jump in front of it, and chase it back to the femme, he wouldn't take it from her. He would simply help her along. Then see if she wished to hunt after. One bird wouldn't be enough he'd wager.

The male ushered the bird in Cinna's direction, and she gave a quick flick of her tail in thanks. Stuck between two wolves, the fowl tried to take flight, but the young huntress was fast, and nimble, and she struck a blow to the quail's wing that kept it from flying. It now ran, terrified, as Cinna rushed after it.

Rodyn moved his large body into a formation to head the bird off. He would not kill it now. That honor alone belonged to the she wolf that had originally hunted it. With practiced precision, he loped and then increased his speed in a wide swatch so that he could then bear along the fowls side and hide, hopefully turning it back or at least stopping it enough that she could grasp it's neck and end it's life.

The larger male was a good hunting partner, and he seemed to know what he was doing. Cinna felt she was just lucky this go around, but she was still grateful for the experience and would continue to hone her skill.

With the male's assistance, Cinna pinned the bird down. It pecked at her paws and she growled before dispatching it with a swift jerk. Swiping up a trickle of blood, she dipped her head to the male and said, panting, "H...hello. I'm Cinna, thanks for... the help!"

Rodyn had grown up hunting. It was his trade and his passion. There was something about it, challenging, building your body, honing it, but it also provided for your family, your pack. Those you were bonded too. There was much to love about hunting.

He gave her a small smile. I'm Rodyn Ardeth. And you're welcome, Cinna.

Cinna smiled and took a few moments to get her breath back. She gestured in the direction of the caldera and said, "I'm heading to my old pack, hoping they'll take me back with this," she nudged the dead quail with her paw. Then, looking back up to Rodyn, she asked, "Think you can help me get one or two more?" Another smile and her tail waved in a friendly manner.

Rodyn eyed the fowl, his ears foward as she continued to speak. The one he would have wondered if it would get her back her place, but two more would do the trick. He nodded decisive.

I will help you. With fowl you want to spear head them. So you go one way i go the other.

He smiled again, and nose to the ground went in search of another. Soon enough he came across the scent. He motioned her to go Left, he would go right.

WIth racing steps and ragged breath, he grasped the fowl and shook it hard. It hung limp in his jaws. Finally, another prize. He would offer them to her and then be on his way.
