I know you can hear me - Annorak - July 21, 2022 Open for anyone of Akashingo!
In a tedious, prudent lumber, a shadow moves; lurks through the unknown terrain. As far as it could be seen, the territory seemed barren — but then, there was room for misconception. Dark, thick tufts of wool dreaded the humidity. It served for any dark skinned creature alike that the heat would pay no kindness. This, in of itself, had already dimmed the beast's mood. Though, now it could not be decided whether the weather or exhaustion made to be so glum. The travelling did well to suffice for the aching muscles, however. Resting for too long did not bode well. But, travelling also meant conflict-.. in some areas. Various groups had been placed across the wilderness. This was known, and well remembered. Should one be found, there would be interesting interactions to come; just as had already ensued in past months. RE: I know you can hear me - Ramesses - July 28, 2022 he missed makono. he worried for her. flanked by mazoi, followed by servants, ramesses went out into the hot red land. he meant to go to the serpent but satsu's tomb dominated the waterway now. and so he went first to give praise, to speak to her despite the fact he could not be heard.
the borders were refreshed. and there they found a giant dark wolf. ramesses' lapis eyes hardened. "why are you so close to akashingo?" he commanded as he approached with an elegant step, and the eyes of his guards and fellahin were questioning upon the man. RE: I know you can hear me - Annorak - July 28, 2022 Strangers were near far sooner than what had been expected. A white wolf, small and hardened in the eyes. Others followed suite, some close, while more lingered behind. Such a peculiar entourage. The beast was intrigued, but alas, he could not express this. "Why are you so close to Akashingo?" So the little man spoke. Akashingo? This place was unknown. If there had been borders a mile behind or a mile ahead, he couldn't yet tell. He was far too tired to care. Staring upon the white wolf blankly, the beast cocked his head, tail settling flat against his hocks. He then wondered if his inability to speak would draw suspicion and the watching eyes would turn to snapping teeth. Sure, he was a fighter, and a damned good one, but in this state-... there were too many. Would the stranger catch on, or remain oblivious? While he wanted to know more of this Akashingo, he could not do so without first proving to the white one that he and his silent tongue bore no ill will. RE: I know you can hear me - Ramesses - July 28, 2022 he did not speak.
then again, jakoul did not rely heavily upon words. ramesses flashed his alabaster tail high. "this is my kingdom." he looked hard at the unspeaking wolf, looking for a visible sign of submission, acknowledgement of pharaoh's status as dominant creature of the land. he looked at the hard-muscled body of the other, appreciating its sculpture as well as potential for ability. RE: I know you can hear me - Annorak - July 28, 2022 Kingdom. Not quite the word he would have accepted; but rather territory or domain. Nonetheless, they all meant the same thing. So this land belonged to the little white wolf. He'd said nothing more than the fact, continuing to wait for something. The beast was slightly confused for a moment, but eventually he understood. Since his hulking size already forced him to look down upon the stranger, there was no way for him to appear as though he were bowing. Instead, he slid down over the ground and laid upon his belly so that he would somewhat meet the height of the white man. Then, for added measure, the beast sounded a small, heavy chuff and set the flat of his snout upon the ground. Submission. Was this what he wanted? If so, this is the only way he could give it. RE: I know you can hear me - Ramesses - July 29, 2022 ramesses was quite pleased when the man prostrated himself. he enjoyed having such large beasts about.
and yet there was no tavina here, no one to whom he might be passed off for bathing. "do you speak at all?" ramesses inquired, and here he ended his sentence with a purring sound, the note of one wolf to another. he knew many languages, but he had never been required to learn this. it was innate. pharaoh stepped back. he signalled for the other to rise, undaunted by his height. RE: I know you can hear me - Annorak - July 29, 2022 Almost as quickly as he'd been given the 'okay' to stand, the beast pushed awkwardly to his feet. Laying in such a position was not as comfortable, which made it harder to stand without fumbling even slightly. "Do you speak at all?" He blinked, then shook his head as if to say, "no". It was good that this man understood. Such would save them both a great deal of hastle. RE: I know you can hear me - Ramesses - July 31, 2022 that was it then.
ramesses motioned to the guards at his side. "mazoi." he looked into the other's face with a questioning look, and then tipped his muzzle in the direction of the steppes just outside akashingo. "hunt." a flash of his teeth to show that he meant to rip and to tear. the servants were near breathless, all gazing upon him. pharaoh was amused. he gestured to them. "fellahin." they too served the mazoi. he looked for any sign of recognition before he decided where the man might be placed. RE: I know you can hear me - Annorak - July 31, 2022
The white man spoke of mazoi and fellahin; those at his company. Taking the words given, all but the two dispersed without a moment of hesitance.
He wondered. How many of this land would follow this small man's word with such obedience? This was the first he'd ever seen such an interaction. Then, never having moved, the beast found deep blue eyes settled upon him. What was the white one thinking? If only he could have asked... RE: I know you can hear me - Ramesses - August 11, 2022 "mazoi."
he decided it, and gestured to the others. "you are a guardian now. you will hunt. you will walk our borders. report to me." the man did not speak. ramesses considered. "i will call you khaba." shade, for the shadows in the man's pelt and the ones which veiled his origin. he was ready then to return, and this time he invited khaba to walk with him. RE: I know you can hear me - Annorak - August 11, 2022 Mazoi. Guardian. His new purpose. Then, bestowed upon.. a name, Khaba. His new identity. Grateful, the beast gave a faint chuff, dipping his snout low in acceptance. Then when the white one moved on, Khaba followed. Through the trek, he walked with enough distance between them to show respect, but was close enough in case a threat befell the smaller man. Nothing ill would become of him... not in the new mazoi's presence. He was sure of such. |
